There is a certain distance with any given HID, where it is not going to help to have your lights that close to the plants. For example a 400 needs to be like 10-12 inches away for optimum growth and if its any closer it will still receive the same lumens and then also more heat. At least this dudes tubes are cooled, but this is not maximing the light spread potential.

this is an OK room...certainly not ultimate. get rid of the cool tubes, swap you 600s for 1000s and raise your lights up a bit more buddy....a lot of those plants don't look like they're getting any light. it's an good start tho...oh & rockwool is a bit easier to work with than coco.

That's a very good set up, plants look healthy no problem (except one or two that got nute burnt) BUT yeah you don't use light effectively, some plants have way too much light, and some don't receive enough light. 600 watt for 1 plant is way too much, specially for small plants like yours. the plant will never yield 600x 0.7 = 420g .A 420g plant is mimimum 1m2 wide. You will never reach 0.7gpw this way.

The lamps should be higher the leafes are all curling up and i believe i even saw some burned ones in your garden. All by all much respect my last grow was only 5 plants which is legal in holland:D

just look up an energy calculator on google... a 1000w on 110v draws 9.3amps on 220v it draws 4.1 and on three phase its 1.2amps... Three phase is the way to be! and 600w's are okay but the lumen output is almost half of that of the 1000w.. and stay away from dual spectrum bulbs

@Nothingman54 600w x 8 x hours of light per day x price of kw per hour in your state x 30 days then divide the number to 1000... the conculusion will be your electricty bill just for the lightining there will be also lots of other stuff fans co2 tube water etc.. i say about 1000usd per month inculuding water bill nutrients etc... pot doesnt come cheap unless you have a back yard which you can locate a greenhouse

Respect man, you have one very tidy and slick grow room setup there, and your results speak for themselvs end of fuckin story. How much Co2 is the Bottle at the door end putting out, and how long does it last? I really Love that your able to get those Lights right on top of your plants with the cool tubes, You must have a pair of wicked fans to push enough air to cool 4 per side. I'm guessing you also have one really awsome Carbon or Ozone scrubber system, I'd love to see that part of it. Later.

Those are only 600 watt HPS how is this an overkill with light - he is way more efficent then 1000watt ligts about the same lumins and you can get the lights closer to the plants because they run cooler - Great job!

You guys are wrong. Your comments seem to be based off no growing experience, at least in growing dank. This guy is clearly demonstrating what it takes to grow really dank medicinal grade medical cannabis. 600w lights run cooler and if air vented as shown you can literally touch the shade itself and not get burned. This allows the plants to absorb the most amount of light and not be burned by heat. That is necessary to grow nice big tight dank buds! Cheers!

if those are flourescent tube lights they need to be that close because there weak... but you can grow using flourescent 2$ lights ass long as you keep then 3 inches of the plant at all times.. like this guys doing
