  • I will say that I got away with using a Korg GA-1 guitar tuner-- it has the ability to enter 1 - 5 flat semitones. So by entering 4 flats my bass F could be read on the tuner as an A note. I had to do it that way on the big F because entering 2 flats on the G wouldn't give a reading.

And sadly my Rhythm Band "Port-A-Harp" came without a wrench, but I've luckily gotten away with using an old coo-coo-clock spring winder.

  • @XmyAssYTmofo Whatever works for you is fine, personally I couldn't be doing with all the altering of the tuner for each note, I like to basically clip on and be on my way haha.. and as for the clock key/winder, that should work fine. I know some people use radiator keys, and god knows what else! haha.. Thanks for the comment :O)

  • Oh how very true on that "thinking the string" into tune. I found out by accident that to be true, as I was flat frightened and so was oh so gentle in tightening my strings that had all gone flat 1 - 1 1/2 semitones. When you're within a semitone sharp or flat of tune in no way is that wrench turned EVEN as much as from 12 o'clock to 2 or 12 to 10.

  • Your doing a great job teaching all these would be auto harpist....BRAVO lad

  • @zazamaxi I wouldn't say teach (I don't have the expertise or experience yet for that lol) more like advise! haha.. Anyhow, thanks for the kind comment as always Maxi! Hope you are great, have a lovely weekend (Very warm here in UK at the moment haha) x
