  • Is it just me, or do Esher's monologues lend themselves to not going to Direbo when you first find the book? He sounds like he's still meeting you early on, not having been through Taghira (sp?)

  • Yeah, I should just record that and play it on any random elevator ride. JK... tempting, though.

  • We just watched an elevator go down. Was that overblown fanfare really necessary?

  • @ZZDaikun

TV Tropes calls these types of events, What Do You Mean It's Not Awesome. Basically anytime a mundane event goes to 11.

  • spooky ass esher!

  • Probably one of the best parts of this game was the opportunity to see the rest of the Great Shaft. :) The music playing during the elevator ride (which was actually the Uru trailer music) was just epic.

  • According to canon, the elevators are still broken.

  • Here's gourmet food for thought. Dr. Watson at the end of his journal said that he was going to take Yeesha's journey. At the time I assumed he meant the journey in the original Uru or perhaps Path of the Shell. But if it's true and we're supposed to be Dr. Watson, could that mean that this is the journey he mentioned? Hmmmm....

  • It's quite eerie seeing the Great Shaft and hearing Escher badmouth Ti'ana while I'm reading "The Book of Ti'ana".

  • I know! I'm actually reading the Book of Ti'ana too and it's amazing to see the Great Shaft in completion being that I'm in the part of the book where they are just days away from digging through to the surface and completing this shaft.

  • I hope you didn't get too confused by the fact that the book sets the cleft and Anna's home in some middle Eastern desert 'empire', whereas in Uru the cleft is clearly in New Mexico. I found that terribly confusing until I did some googling and found out that they changed it for Uru.

  • Thanks to having watched Uru before I started reading the novels, I knew it was in New Mexico, but I did find it strange that Middle Eastern men on camels no less were in that region. Yeah, it was kinda confusing. I figured they were just some foreign traders in the area instead of the area itself actually being in a desert in the middle east.

  • I don't know if you know this, but they're making a movie of Book of Ti'anna. There's an animatic trailer on YouTube, but don't watch it until you've finished the book. I had to stop half-way through in order not to have the plot spoiled. Like your artwork, btw!

  • Cool, I had heard something about a movie being made, but wasn't sure if it was something that would actually manifest though. Didn't know there was a little trailer either. Thanks for the heads up and glad you like my art.
