  • i absolutely liked this i make a tf2 map too i think i put it in fpsbanana when its finished its called KOTH SandFort buildings and much more i make a vid too

  • Intelligence on the Control Point, Control Point in a spawn room?

  • it wouldnt be good to be a spy in this its to enclosed for him. ud be lucky to make it about 1/2 before getting killed

  • looks likr he's got some stuff down like working pick ups. Intel and spawns etc. but i do recommend reading up on the tf2 developer wiki about their design and principles for TF2 before you get into anything serious.

  • oh, and you may want to you use Hammer - good for map making. Can also find it on Steam.

  • oh, and you can't play TF2 online without steam so you'll have that. Should be easy enough to find the editor.

  • wow looks like a horrible map ^^ but thats just normal if its your first

  • 1 thing is you shunt be able to enter enemy spawn, intel shudnt be in the spawn, also the medical supply shudnt be for blu and open for red. Also many balance issues but im a terrible mapper so its still great.

  • I also noticed that there is only one entrance to the intel room and only one path you can take. Map looks good so far but it would be worth tweaking a bit.

  • This map would be RUINED in gameplay.

    Work on these things:

    1) You NEED to have ATLEAST 3 ways to the intel.

    One can be oneway but still.

    2) It was kinda too small, and if its Spy based map its hard since theres only 1 way to intel and its too narrow to pass by enemies.

    3) It had too much health and ammo.

    but its your opinion.

    Now what I liked was the scenery.

    You had plenty of props in your map. Some may seem pretty randomly placed but still good.

  • Hey, I'm new to map making with hammer, and I was wondering, how do you add lighting to a map? I've added light_spots, made their brightness 1000, but when I load the map, it's still completely dark. Help would greatly be appreciated.

  • youtube is full of lighting tutorials, you just have to search for it! try entering "valve hammer editor lighting tutorial" in the search bar.... i don`t know... just given it a try and tell me, sorry if i`m too tired to explain xD

  • to help make your map look better lghtin wise create point_spotlights for your ceiling and for the wall lights make them less bright, where it gives you the option to change color it's the last # 200

    100 or 75 is better. this allso somewhat helps with compileing as well as making any unseen walls be nodraw textured

  • covering the outter sides of the building with nodraw is a really known tip, wich i use in any of my maps, but ty anyway, and i'll follow your advices next time!!! thx to all people who help me ;) and... sorry for my suckish english ^^

  • k create a prop_dynamic give it's model to the resupply closet, name it something then create a brush with the trigger texture make it where you want the player to be and press ctrl-t when you have the trigger selected, in the class name at the top of the window (where it would say func_detail) and change that to trigger_resupply then you set it's working model(could be called somting else) and you might have to set it's team and then your done! you should now have a working resupply closet

  • thanks to all people commenting me and taking the pain inda ass to advice me things and details to make my mapping capacity better and better!!! i opened a steam group called thelostmirror, if ya want to see, check it out ;)

  • this for first time is really good map ( I too make my first map now) but there is one big problem INTEL ! its not real to get it if it is enemy base.... so i suggest to make other room for intel and your map will be cool!

  • Nice so far, however there aren't any alternate paths for players to take, making the map fairly linear.

  • Pretty solid. BUT theres no out door area and it looks like so close together Maybe in like the middle of the map there could be a nice big room? for like scouts to roam around consider they crave big areas well i do anyways and i use scout for scout (not because of update) and where that room is with the cabinet i could totally see someone camping there (lets say a heavy?) but other than that your design is teh fluid and i hope to see your map in the server lists

  • maps kinda dull, maybe some more diverse textures or some windows
