Okay so I'd heard about this cover and finally I read the lyrics...he ain't talking about a female...or at least there's no context in the song that can't also be interpreted as him speaking about Africa. Toto's version is better but there ain't really anything off about his singing or the lyrics... people probably watch the original video and assume that it has to do with a female.
