  • Hey Adobe!

As a Flash Game Developer, I really hope that in 2011 you look into making it possible to use Flash as the development tool for making PlayStation Suite games, you know similar to how it's possible on the AppStore or the Android Marketplace! That's all! :)

  • Adobe Flash is through and through proprietary. You cannot and should not build international standard upon proprietary technology. This will create a monopoly and route/make all solutions and technologies based on that standard automatically to monopoly owner.

Adobe should either fully opensource or die.

And I dont care how much stupid designers worship Flash - it is NOT an option.

Pay the amount of money you pay to Adobe to opensource designs and you will recieve MUCH more.

  • Hey love Adobe, love flash our company was founded on flash literally. Html5 is the devil lol... you know we did an experiment on the recent Google Arcade Fire HTML5 website and thanks to how HTML5 works... we were able to clone the site in about 2 seconds and make everything run and function as the original site. I think Adobe knows what I am talking about...My point is HTML5 the conman's magic tool for phishing sites.

  • The song and artist is:

Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World

    by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole

    From the Album Facing Future

  • The horse's face at 1:37 made me LOL.

  • Nice video!! Whats the song name??

  • @HackingDutchman

What A Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong ;)

  • Palm Pre ..webOS!!!!

  • Better edit palm out of that last bit. Doh!

  • Not on apple. Unfortunately. Those bastards.

  • You guys really look desperate.

  • Let's get rid of the bad apple[s]!!!

You don't have to know too much history to realise that what apple tries to do is been done before (see comunism). They won't break down our spirit with their lust for control! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

  • @helloukw So in this argument, the company which is encouraging a single, ubiquitous content standard, which they retain complete control over, is closed source and proprietary - _aren't_ the communists? And the company which encourages open web standards that are free to implement is the real villain?

  • Flash just crashed my browser. Again. I'm no Apple fan, but if they can help kill I won't lose a wink of sleep.

  • Dear Adobe,

Please put more* time into making flash less of a crashy, slow, resource intensive pain instead of making silly propaganda videos about how good flash is. The best way to make people think Flash is worth using is by making it so, not telling everyone it is.

    Thank you,

    The Internet community.

*I say more because I know you already are, keep it up.

  • @axman6 You're a fool. Anyone that thinks Flash is slow and a resource hog has no idea what they're talking about.

Flash applications are as good as the developers that create them. If you have crummy flash app, blame the developer of the app, not Adobe.

  • does anyone know when we can expect the mobile flash beta for the pre? I've been waiting since last october...fuck

  • What is the name of the Song Artist? Gotta find this song!!!!

  • A web without Flash is like a day without sun.

  • Flash Rules ...

  • i hate apple , html 5 is still better then flash , you just want monopoly on the web

  • flash sucks on any platform, apple sucks regardless...

  • Comment removed

  • release for Pre. Please.

  • Have Pre, Will Flash.

    Now.

    Please.

  • hurry up and release this on web OS already dammit

  • Apple doesnt hate "what can people do"...WE-all mac user - hate the terrible performance of the f*cking player.

The only app that freezes a mac is the shit called flash.

  • @hexagram12 I'm a Mac user and I can easily say that you do not speak for me nor the majority of Mac users. Only the vocal minority complains about Flash borking Macs. Just because Steve Jobs says it, doesn't make it true.

  • @Fozz929 Well that is quite the generalization and you don't speak for the majority either. Maybe you haven't had issues with Flash but I know plenty of Mac users (including myself) that have had troubles with Flash.

You know about the crash bug that wasn't patched for 16-months? There is a reason a lot of people are irritated with Adobe.

  • @hexagram12 I'm a very happy Mac user, and I love my Mac, but wanna know something? My Finder completely crashed and bombed out on me last week, and forced me to restart. Flash has yet to result in a single crash.

  • @hexagram12

Ever ask yourself why it doesn't really do the same on Windows based PC's for the most part? I love Macs...use'm at home...use'm at work. Both platforms have their pro's and cons. Flash Player has always performed better on a Win. based PC for the obvious CPU/GPU connections. Look it up...seriously. You just might change your tune.

  • @TheDarkestofKnight This is ONLY due to the fact NVIDIA/AMD pay 2000 (as in two thousand) developers for windows drivers and only 5(as in FIVE) work on Mac/Linux.

  • some day apple will get flash

  • I love My Palm Pre Too Bad You Ant Getting No Flash Support Ever iPhone HAAA

  • And to finish my previous post, iPhone isn't a "Smartphone", in my opinion the shit's too easy to use. A proper term would be "Idiotphone". I mean seriously, RESTRICTED application development. Fail Apple, FAIL.

  • Apple should be sued for anti-trust for blocking flash content from a free world wide web of information. It is tantamount to restricting free speech.

  • Remember folks, if you can't afford the original Louis Armstrong version of a song, just get a bastardized version by some dude with a ukulele.

  • Enough of your crappy videos. I'm sick and tired of waiting. Sorry, but when Steve Jobs said you guys were lazy, he was right. It does NOT need to take 3+ years to bring flash to a mobile device. Sorry, it just doesn't. At this point, I'm almost hoping HTML5 wins out over your sorry lazy butts for taking so incredibly and ridiculously long to release an alpha, or a beta, or ANYTHING to people. Jesus Christ, you better hurry the h~ll up or HTML5 will eat you alive. Idiots.

  • @Vux911 It wasn't Adobe's fault that Apple was too idiotic to make flash WORK on there devices. It isn't Adobe's job completely to port flash to other platforms. And to prove this, smartphones have been able to run websites with flash since 2006. I remember getting my first Windows Mobile Phone, It did all of that just fine. Then migrated a a Blackberry in 08 and was still able to run flash enabled websites. Apple product users are just ignorant. We will have to get used to your kind.

  • @xanZion1 I don't use Apple devices, but thanks for ASSuming that. Android, Palm, and yes iPhone OS too. There is absolutely ZERO reason whatsoever to take so ridiculously long to put ANYTHING out for any of these mobile OSs, especially when there have been "demo" videos coming out with Flash on Android etc for months and months at a time now. It's absolutely ridiculous.

  • @Vux911

er....get yer facts straight... Apple doesn't want Flash. oh and HTML5 cant do everything flash can do.

  • @Discomurf

Again, I don't use Apple devices. There is ZERO excuse for taking to so long to release Flash on Android or Web OS.

  • @Vux911 I understand... but just so we are clear the lack of support is APPLES CHOICE/FAULT... not Adobe's. In fact, the proof that it can run on these devices is that you will soon be able to develop iPhone/iPad APPS with the Flash authoring tool... but Apple still wont support flash for its browser. This is because Apple thinks they can control your internets. Almost everything else supports flash through a browser, you can even run it on the Wii/PS3.

  • This video makes me really proud to be a Flash Developer. I'm sorry, but the iPad and the iPhone without Flash are not sustainable. Almost every creative person alive who works on computers loves Adobe for the very reason that Adobe software is consistent, beautifully designed, empowering and allows you to create anything you can imagine. I'd hate to live in a world without Photoshop, After Effects and Flash. It's just a matter of time for Apple to cave on their childish boycott.....

  • Audio seems to be not working in 380p, but is good in 480 and 720p.

  • Am I the only one unable to hear audio?

  • congratulations adobe. This "video" is 10,0

  • Please find a way to get audio back into this. This seems awkward and, yes, a little boring without it.

  • Er - whats Google StreetView got to do with Flash?

  • @batterj2

check it out - it's actually Flash 10...

  • @batterj2

check it out - it's actually Flash 10...

  • @batterj2

check it out - it's actually Flash 10...

  • @batterj2 errrrm maybe because google streetview is built in flash?

  • i cant understand why does apple hated adobe so much? adobe products is one of the main reason why people buy mac

  • @bebensiganteng apple hates what can people do with flash available on their devices. Think about the future of iphone/ipad/iphone apps if you can create them with flash! or stop doing apps, just host them into a domain... a lot of freemdom!! just what Apple dont want for their products. Customer freedom... i have an iphone, i loved it, but is frustrating sometimes...

  • @rickteruel As long as Flash is not free software, there is no freedom!

  • who is singing. its beautiful.

  • @SockMonkey007 "Somewhere Over the Rainbow / Wonderful World" by Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole - although this version has an orchestral backing that I haven't heard before this ad.

  • Sorry Get a Mac!

  • "Any Screen"

    Except the iPhone. xD

  • im tired of that HTML5 and JS / CSS mania. They are a solid instruments to implements websites and is good and necesary know and studie them, but we cant stop using flash and make it look like is the devil itself.

Flash is an amazing technology that can combine multiple solutions in 1 platform. I love flash, i love standars... i love web experincies... we have to use all of them and combine it to create great experiencies.

  • @rickteruel

You are right, but it's a very old technology not optimized for modern computer

  • @carloballa maybe your r right, but the worst flash enemies r the bad developers. If you program it correctly, u can dramatically optimize the performance. Now we can see a brand new JavaScript developers (that arent really developers) that crashes web brosers, or css sites who have 300kb css files!! OMG!! but, flash is the devil cause the ipad, iphone or safari. Oh! all from the same company. thats not weird. Isnt a web performance-standars war. Is a commercial war where apple wants to own ALL.

  • @rickteruel the problem with flash is adobe takes there sweet ass time rolling out any updates look at the palm pre they said it would be ready in oct 09 then the end of 2009 now the first half of 2010 why should i wait around for that when i can use html 5 now plus flash is really bugy and has always been

  • @vinnie5451 You are right about Adobe and its ok to use the better app that you could use, the thing im against is this flashfobia that this commercial issue is creating. Flash has its problems as other technologies has. Is not master a solution, but, for some projects flash is perfect. Im pro new techs and standars for correct usage. None of us will win anything from this battle...

  • @rickteruel html 5 is going to phase out flash esp on platforms that adobe doesnt support and esp bc they miss there deadlines all the time so yes i wil win because this will make the web more robust for consumers and show adobe that flash for the pre was needed in oct 09 and that a projected release date needs to be stuck to not just when ever the hell they feel like it.Remember we support them not the other way around

  • @rickteruel

Or we could do out with the old bloated platforms that slow everything down? Yeah.. let's go with progress not old out dated technologies like flash.

  • Flash has a great purpose for the web. I don't see html5 kicking it out. Flash is special..

  • @Odi Every one of the devices shown are new devices. Windows Phone 7 hasn't been released yet, and Apple has a vested interest in trying to shaft Adobe, and Steve Jobs has taken up a personal crusade against Adobe (and Google, for that matter). Other than Apple's lackluster devices, Flash is supported on virtually every modern system.

  • FLASH IS THE FUTURE

  • @zeroxsys

Its sure not the Future, but for the Moments its the best way to merge advanced programming with Designers way to work with Graphics. The flash IDE is realy a good tool to combine those two extremes. I love Flash.

  • FLash.. Thanks anyway.
