  • These guys were at Rock County, still my favorite demonstration in all the times I've gone.

  • the HUEY is the best on all of em

  • argh, being surrounded by all of them helicopters. :)

  • God I love air shows. First time i flew in something other than a commercial jet was at an airshow in atlanta, my dad paid to let me fly in a Bi Plane it was amazing.

But choppers really get my rocks off lol

Cool vid, air shows are truly magical

  • you forgot the OV-1 taxi behind the choppers! Another awesome Vietnam era bird!

  • Thanks for the info, I'll put it in the description.

  • FYI:

    .

I was trained in the US Army to maintain the OV1's photographic equipment at Fort Monmouth NJ in 1969. Funny, after training I hardly ever saw an OV1 again.

    .

A few years back I saw 10 or so OV1s at an Argentine Army base near Buenos Aires.

  • @UTubeGlennAR Cool. Sadly the only one I ever saw was at a air museum :(

  • There was a US Army base 4 miles from the local A/P that I was a line boy at as a HS student for 2.5 years in the mid 60s. So the OV1 was a common sight for me n I often got to park them.

    .

However I never saw one in Nam (ground or air) but I did see OV10 Broncos daily, often in a formation of 4 on down wind flying over my Army base (Bienthuy Army Navy air field) in the delta.....

  • @lst1195 Yes it was. I was a OH-6A Crew Chief. Late 1968, we were told to move our aircraft. Well, the OV-1 had come to town. I thought it was strange to have a secret prop plane. Some asshole comes out to our area and reads us the riot act. He said this was all secret and not to take any pictures. This jerk did NOT go through the chain of command. This was Vietnam.

  • @fastetsinthewest I met a Vietnam era Huey Jock who was a Little older & he told me he wanted into the OV-1 program. The Army told him "We don't know if a guy your age can handle three pieces of tail" :)

  • the muskegon air show is so cool to bad they dont do it anymore

  • I'm bummed out as well. We use to stay at my dad's house in Grand Haven, and drive over everyday.

  • Fantastic Video. Musta been an awesome air show! Cool Stuff.

  • like how that little cayuse was the loudest being surrounded by all those big birds

  • It is spinning fast its like when you look at a wheel on a car going down the highway its looks like is spinning slow or some times going......And u can own a cobra as a civilian just without the weapons systems..i see them in trade-a-plane every once and a while they usually sell for half mil.

  • wtf look at the littlebird helicopters roter, its hardly moving and its in the air wtf?

  • It's the frame rate of my digital camera. It just the timing as the rotors spin.

  • Is this Ft Knox?

  • can civilian own those 'cobra' helicopters?

  • I don't think so, but it sure would be cool.

  • Yes you can, because civilian organizations fly them all the time at air shows. They are just "de-milled", meaning all the weapons and COMSEC equipment is removed.

  • Gotta love choppers!

  • not choppers, helos :)

  • hey i was one of the reenactors in that demonstration

    no shit dude

  • No kidding, what part were you in? It was an awesome show!

  • a Loach, two Hueys, two Cobras and an OV-1 Mohawk (taxiing in the background at the end).....what more could you ask for? :P

  • Not a whole lot, it was a REALLY cool show. I'm glad I was able to see it!

  • Maybe a Hook and a Crane. Hey, they paid us real well to have fun flying their toyz.

  • Nice video, looked like it was good show. To be a little pedantic though, that is not a Littlebird (an MH6 or AH6) its actually an OH6 Loach which is the earlier model used in Vietnam. They used to fly with two Cobra's as a unit called a "Pink Team". The Loach would fly over the jungle low and fast to draw fire and then call in the Cobra's if they found the enemy. The easiest way to tell them apart is the MH/AH6 have T-tails as opposed to the OH6 Y-tail.

  • Thanks for clarification on the Loach! See, I learned something today ;)

  • AH-6 Little Bird, UH-1 Huey and AH-1 Cobra <3

  • When was this? I went to the 2006 Muskegon Air Fair and I saw the reenactment too. Good stuff!! It was pretty intense. Especially the explosions.

  • This was last year, before they canned the Muskegon Air Show. I will miss it dearly.

  • Oh damn! I remember this. Thanks for working with us on the show. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A fellow reenactor - Cpl Jacob Allen USMC

P.S. Ya'll knew me as "The Gunny" at that show just to give ya an idea who this is.

  • cool vid, i like hueys a lot!

  • That was pretty neat seeing the video, seeing as I was on Comanchero for the show before we inserted (I am a Vietnam reenactor) for the mock battle. I don't often get to see the view from outside the chalks. COOL!

  • Comanchero was the Huey behind the little bird.
