  • People misunderstand what a inner rotor kit is. It is a magneto, that uses a magnet as a rotor, and a pickup that sends voltage to the coil, and spark to the plug. Depending on where the timing is set (business card gap) will determine at what rpm the max spark is delivered. The cdi (rev box) is a programmed piece to curve the ignition (advance at higher rpm/make spark happen sooner) to make sure it retains optimum spark timing to 12,500rpm.

  • The proper tool to remove the Phillips head plate screws is an impact driver, this is a spring loaded hand tool you hit with a mallet. The impact in, and spring twist unlocks impossible screws you would otherwise strip. You can buy one from eBay with bits for ~$40. The business card gaps the pickup to a proper spot, no need to set crank position for the plate install. Also, the keyway on the crankshaft will keep the rotor where it needs to be.

  • does this kitaco inner rotor kit work on the 140cc / 150cc lifan aswell as it works on the 110cc / 125 cc?

  • This video sucks it doesnt show the vital bits such as removing the flywheel nut and tightening it!

  • do you think a 27mm carb will work better on this bike? thanks

  • did that help it rev faster other than just in neutral? im wanting one for my 50 (82 big bore kit) cause i hate how slow it revs

  • if ur motor is honda wave 100?? it will work or not?

  • if u will tune up your motorcycle.. how can u locate the T mark? or timing? on the fly wheel

  • How did you tighten the flywheel nut? Kind of a novice question but I can't figure out a way to keep the crank from spinning.

  • Interesting! Thanks:)

  • does it actually make any difference when you ride

  • Does it matter what position the crankshaft is in when you install the Rotor kit?

Like ignition or exhaust timing? And what shall the Trigger be in for a position?

    Full up or full down?

    Please respond! :)

  • what about timing??

  • @joeytyls you dont have to!

  • why does it sound like u have a knock in the motor??

  • i have a motovert expert 140cc, i bought a rotorkit a few days ago and the two screws on the spark plate, wont come out, it's impossible! please help! how should i do?

  • man you are really good with this engines man im wodering would a kitaco be good for a 150cc pit bikes

  • Will a kitaco irk work with stock crank or do i need adapter if i need adapter please post link

  • The Kitaco may have been higher quality, but did it's screws come prestripped?

  • @TheAlexManVideos i heard that putting one of these on a pit bike engine will ruin your crank bearings because the engine becomes unbalanced because the clutch basket is still heavy and but the rotor is light which puts pressure on the one side of the crank is this true?

  • @jamesm060191 Nope. That makes no difference. Balance only matters on the plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. Your car engine has a huge flywheel + clutch/torque converter on one side of the crank and only a pulley on the other. It makes no difference. But if you have a crank mounted clutch on your bike, the cast basket usually shatters in time.

  • @TheAlexManVideos if i put one of these on my 110cc pit bike engine will it destroy my engine and if so how long will it take to do so, thanks for the reply and love the videos.

  • @jamesm060191 I don't own a Chinese engine and don't like working on them. Because of the hard to source parts and difference in design I can't say what will or won't work on your engine. In general, however, a crank mounted clutch doesn't like inner rotor kits.

  • @TheAlexManVideos that's what i heard to, but parts are extremely easy to find for the Chinese engines where i live in the u.k

  • @TheAlexManVideos What the pros and con vs outer rotor kits and inner rotor kits?

  • @TheAlexManVideos Any reason why the stock basket shatters ?

  • How do you keep the crank still when un-do and tighten the bolt which holds the rotor on???

  • This is doing my head in my bike wont start iv brought an 88cc takegawa/kitaco honda engine with an inner rotor kit iv wired it all up right got a good spark new spark plug. Im kicking it over and it is kinda firing every now and again but the exhaust fumes are coming more out of the carb than the exhaust, where do you position the rotor, because there is an engraved line on the rotor and at the moment its horrizontal pointing to the head and not vertical pointing to the mark on the crank case.

  • how much u pay for that shit

  • the ebay 1s dont cut out its ur shit bike

  • the ebay inner rotors dont cut out u clown its just ur shit bike

  • did you put a new oil slinger or not?

  • the power is unreal why is the throtel so quick?

  • @cainxx1 because of having a fly wheel that weighs like 10 times heavier than the iner rotor look at the size diference

  • Comment removed

  • huge diffrence! it revs like a 2 stroke hah

  • bonjour a tous je voudrai maitre un rotor kitaco sur un 140cc je voudrai savoir si tu gagne en accel et si tu paire de la pointe merci de me repondre stp...........

  • Do you think a 1985 ATC 70 rotor will fit on a 2002 XR50?

  • Hey what is the purpos of the bottle thats zip tied to the skid plate ?

  • to catch overflowed fuel and oil to keep a track tidy

  • @Markus4160 It's a 24mm Shengwey. It's a knockoff of a Keihin.

  • 108.

  • what do you think about the chinese kit??

    good or not?

    ive got a china cross

  • I do I wire this kit to my stock bike w a nvm csi box?

  • on my oil pump im pretty sure my teeth are worn badly. like there is no teeth there. what do i do and if i ride it will if fuck up on me? thanks

  • how to you wire up the stop switch for the china irk?

  • I don't remember the wire colors., the kit should have come with instructions. It just plugs into the harness and grounds the system killing the spark.

  • is that like a DIY boost bottle cable tied to the side there ?

  • The eBay IRK worked fine up to a certain RPM at which it would start cutting out like a rev limiter but very rough with backfiring and not at a high RPM. The Kitaco IRK works great at all RPM's. The symptoms I noticed on the eBay part don't happen to all the kits but I've heard other people report the same problem I was having.

  • when you put the inner rotor in your bike, did you have to set the timing?

  • is oem honda

  • OEM is Original Equipment Manufacturer. So OEM parts for the engine are Honda but OEM tires would be IRC.

  • I have an old ct 70. Do you think that the inner rotor kits will fit the same.

  • Depends how old it is. Unless it has CDI, it probably won't fit. The crankshaft taper is different.

  • I'm changing the kitaco rotor kit on my crf50 for a tokyo mods digital ignition, i'm guessing it will be a similar process as in the video, no need to re-adjust timing or anything?

  • It will be the same process. You will need to set the timing again, however.

  • how many cc engine is that?, very nice rotor kit damn thats fast

  • 108 Stroker from Honda TB.

  • i got a 110cc loncin automatic my flywheel is on the engine and the exnision plate is on the cover can i use a innerrotor thanks

  • I don't know. I never work on Chinese engines.

  • where did u get your gear selector?

  • CHP USA.

  • How much faster does it actually rev? Is it a noticeable difference?

  • This doesn't raise the redline, the engine just gets to the same redline quicker.

  • But how much quicker? Is it noticeable at all?

  • You can hear me revving it at the end. Yes it's very noticeable.

  • would this inner rotor make a big defference on the stock engine?

  • It works the same on any engine. It just makes the revs rise and fall faster. Doesn't increase power.

  • Haha, no. It's just an overflow reservoir or catch can. In the case of an accident, gas from the carb vents will flow into the catch can instead of on the track. For supermoto and most on pavement racing it is required to prevent spills on the track which is very slippery.

  • TheAlexManVideos is this bike a 84? I have a 84 engine and am wondering what 12 volt crank is the best to use to convert from 6 volt.

    Thanks

    Mike

  • CRF50 crank is identical except for flywheel taper. It will work to use an IRK on your 84.

  • Ah ok thanks. I think I understand now. I need a newer crank with a different tapper to use the IRK on a 84 correct?

    Thanks

    Mike

  • Pretty much. You will need to trim off about 1/8 or 3/16 inches off the thread of the crank. This is because the crank is a bit longer and will rub on the left side cover if you don't cut it. Also, this will only allow you to run an IRK. To use a standard 12v ignition and flywheel, you'll need to replace the left case, and the shift shaft.

So for the IRK, a CRF50 crank with the threads cut 3/16" on the ignition side will work just fine.

  • AH ok great thanks again. That clears it up I fully understand now.

    Thanks

  • TheAlexManVideos Another great video. Just one question is that a stock Crank? will it work on a older 6 volt engine without a newer Crank from a 12 volt motor?

    Thanks

    MIke

  • That's a newer crank. The IRK only works on 12v ignitions cranks.

  • Ah ok thanks

  • hello,

kitaco innerrotor is nice but its not good for your clutch plates you have cluch on cam shaft

its better for clutch on gears

    greets Vincent

  • The clutch is on the crank, not on the cam. I am aware that the cast clutch baskets can explode from RPM and fast RPM changes, it is for that reason that I use a billet machined and hard anodized clutch basket.

  • did you realy pay £299 for it

  • No. I paid $129. Dollars. Call and ask if it still costs $129, they will probably say yes.

  • i got the chinese one in mine. hate it

  • Like I said in the video, you can't mount it anywhere where it will vibrate. The vibrations at high RPM's make the ignition cut out. It's like a rev limiter at a low RPM and it sounds like shit. Just backfires.

  • Omfg i need to get a 100 in mine, that thing riped so bad there, did you wheelie that down the road, looked like it

My kitaco stator plate is such a bitch to fit flush, had to hammer mine in plance, and then when you need to take it off....well......dont go there lol

  • Yeah, it floated the front wheel just off the ground. It will do wheelies in first, second, and third at full throttle.

The plate is a PITA to fit by hand, I just put in in part way then let the screws do the rest.
