The 50/50 statistic is approximate of course, but a very well replicated finding, and It will be easy for you to find the credible social scientific literature that supports those figures.

They are based on gender neutral, self-report questionaires, and use the general population as a sample base (rather than samples of women only taken from shelters).

@Eceoes not true. The 2000 Nat'l Violence Against Women survey estimates based on anonymous phone surveys that annually 800,000 men and 1,300,000 are the victims of one-sided non-defensive violence. That's a little over a third, not the single digits feminists state are DV victims who are male.

Many more studies using the combat tactics scale and inquire about the nature of the violence (one sided vs reciprocal & whether the violence was defensive) show women are *at least* as violent as men.
