Here we are years later and there's talk of Plax possibly going back to the Giants again when he gets out of prison. At the time I was more worried about losing Pierce than Burress, but Plaxs' absence screwed the Giants in 08, Pierce dropped out with the neck injury next year.
I agree with williebuyoff below. The Giants were steback due to the loss of Plaxico. He was always double-teamed and once he shot himself it was like giving the opposing defense another man.
Burress got in a lot of trouble at MSU too just like Charles Rogers. Don't forget that as well. Colin is dead on! the Giants got rid of a very rotten egg in their clubhouse coup so to speak. All three of those players (two you mentioned) are rotten eggs who think they're above the law and I don't think I'm the only one who doesn't feel the need to give them sympathy when they finally get splattered.
I love when Colin Cowherd is wrong... everybody just crowded the box after plax went down... that ended the giants season... no deep threat
