Well not entirely. Practically, we wouldn't ask for the destruction of these public services but rather privatization and the opening of competition.

A couple of years ago in the city of Ottawa, there was a bus worker's strike. Since this was the only means of public transport and no competition was allowed, winters for families without cars(like mine) made going outside of downtown nigh impossible.
