Kirk may be a nice guy, overrated at best. Kirk's tone is horribly scratchy where Marty's tone is calm and flows through the listener like a cool breeze on a hot summers day. Marty is more advanced on a technical and music level. He's just better.

He still loves metal, he's explored more in his career than the others have, now I love Dave, and him and Marty were probably one of the best metal guitar duos of all time. Listen to his music since the Dragon's Kiss album, and you'll get it.
