  • Soon all his vids are going to become exclusive, the stream will become exclusive and pretty much everything. It will all get real boring if you don't pay him. Sorry Chris I ain't buying.

  • Sorry I like Chris but I ain't paying him to join his little club. Your gonna outsmart your self Chris. You might get a thousand or so and that's it. I think you stand more to loose then to gain. Man oh man money must be tight in the Pirillo household.

  • Gnomies is awesome guys! Going to be a gnomie very soon cant waite no way im passing up all this great extra content! I live for Gnomies and always wished he did something like us! I even wish we could pay $1000 and get a whole decade worth of Chris's awesomness! just sayin! I mean you are getting deals and feedback and tips from one of the greatest youtubers out there! Great job Chris keep doing what your doing and loving the Lego stuff! gnomies is the best thing that ever happened to youtube!

  • IT consultancy is becuming hot job profile today :P

    thumbs up :P

  • There are only 3 reasons he would be making this Gnomies program: A. He's losing his house. B. His advertisers are dropping him because of his low view counts. C. His girlfriend wants a sports car who she's leaving him.

  • So, let me see if I have this straight. You are basically having people pay you 100 smackers a year so they can get a shout out, some discounts, and actually get their questions answered? That just doesn't seem fair, now does it Chris... It's obvious your fan base doesn't approve of the Gnomies program. It seems as though it's only yearly prices as you are afraid that you aren't providing enough above the regular content, and that they might want to quit the service a month in.

  • genius plan

id probably do the same thing at this point= people accepted your tldr concept

  • Its funny how he doesn't link anything... ever, but when he charges $100 for crap he links us.

  • Chris does and will continue to provide tons of FREE content. People with expertise deserve to be compensated for their time. You could easily spend at least $100.00 per hour to work with a consultant. To join he is only asking for $100.00 for an entire year of membership...quite reasonable for the value he will provide. If you develop an expertise in something you will understand and appreciate the need to be compensated for your time/work.

  • @inbalancebydesign Great. How many other worth-while consultants are on YouTube? None... they have legitimate businesses. If his time is worth $100+ an hour, why is he making/editing youtube videos for 4-5+ hours a day? Why is not spending his time CONSULTING? How does he have time for a job, girlfriend, and this youtube stuff? Because he doesnt do any real work consulting, or at least thats my assumption. If it was worth the money, he would have people asking for his time, not visa-versa.

  • @KnightsBooking It's certainly understandable that you may have some "assumptions" about his work. If I'm not mistaken, I believe he provides content for some companies. If you're interested in seeing what some other successful consultants are up to on YouTube, you might want to check out Gary Vaynerchuk, Brian Tracy, John C. Maxwell, Jeffrey Gitomer, Sally Hogshead, Nick Nanton, Mari Smith, and William Arruda, just to name a few. They provide good YouTube content that you may enjoy. :-)

  • @inbalancebydesign You may be right, and I'll have to take your word for it that there are many other consultants on YouTube. But do they also upload tours of their home, share their girlfriends Christmas gifts and beg for money and free LEGOS? My guess is no.

  • @KnightsBooking I guess Chris likes to engage with his followers on a more personal level than some other consultants. I don't mind the money and LEGO stuff, but I can understand how some people do. :-)

  • Sorry I had been leaving the i out when spelling Gnomies. I'll try to spell it correctly from now on. :-)

  • I do not get all the hate here. Chris is talking about an OPTIONAL subscription which will provide EXRA content. He is not going to stop producing free content, just something extra for those willing to pay for it.

By the way: If you do not like what he is doing, simply ignoring him will probably be the best thing you can do for yourself. Do not ruin the fun for everyone else.

  • I think this may be the only video Chris has done that has received so many negative votes. Does it deserve negative votes, well we will see how successful this thing turns out to be.

  • you will only see in his vidoes and articles what the paid elite want, so if you donty or send him some thing expect to be ingnored, when he stops being about the money and becomes more about the love and the people i may come back

  • wow, chris u better let diana go, u gonna suffer when she get tired of all your virtual life thing, u might know how to make money, but maybe don't know and dont care how to make love

97 bucks a year for suscribing to gnomies, wow,

ur cool, thats why i dont unsuscribe, but i cant kkep up whit all your videos thats too much

try not to show that you wanna make money of everything!!

  • @ElZurdoPinedo

You know you get something back right? You purchase something and it's optional.

  • @ElZurdoPinedo You are a sad, sad person.

  • @ElZurdoPinedo You have no right to interfere with his private life and criticize it. Gnomies is all about the LockerGnome community, not his love life. And if you're not willing to pay for it, then don't. No one forces you to do so. Chris will still appreciate that you've subscribed to his channel and watch his videos. Just don't make tactless comments.

  • @morphinglight what im suposed to say then? tell me!, what do you guys wanna hear?, if chris really wanna help the community he could just give all the things he offer in "gnoobes" for free, cuz he is not paying to get what he is going to share.

we're already paying him 'BIG TIME' trought adsense (views/clicks)

  • @ElZurdoPinedo Wow, seriously? That might be the stupidest comment on this video.. I mean, really??

  • Seriously, if you don't want to shell out $100/year or Gnomies, you don't have to! No one is forcing you to pay for stuff, just that you will get more than you already have. You will still have all the stuff that is for free, that isn't going away. Plus, if you still hate the Lockergnome network for giving you a wealth of knowledge for free every weekday including TLDR live, please for the love of everything holy, hit that Unsubscribe button! Is that too much to ask?

  • I don't have $90 to spare per year for Gnomies. Sorry Chris! Although it is a great service.

  • My pocket, your penis...( ) <====8. Nice lol

  • Chris, make it MONTHLY!

  • A Question: I love your videos and your channel, they're absolutely great, but haven't you got enough money without Gnomies?

  • @BrewPointofView I hope everyone reminds Chris of this vid when everything he does is exclusive to try to make $ off the old Tech TV fans.

  • What the hell, Chris? Are you taking lessons from Activision?

  • well he does not answer you quetions normaly this is it I unsubscibe , you ask for too much.

  • @peterdoa1

huh.. He has 4,265videos that he made to us and we didn't have to may anything at all to him.

"You ask for too much"? That's quite rude compared to what he has done to you.

  • People, come on! If you don't want this service or think it's too expensive, don't buy it! There is no reason to hate. Like Chris said, Lockergnome is going to put out the same amount of articles and videos as before. that ain't going to decrease. If you want more content and services than before, THEN should you subscribe.

I think you're doing a great thing here Chris!

  • Chris, you really should address all the negative feedback and dislikes on this. It seems obvious that your community isn't exactly thrilled with this venture. Have you had more than 10 people sign up for this? My guess is probably not. Please, shed a little light on this conundrum you're calling "Gnomies".

  • Contrary to Chris' statement I don't feel this is one "hell of a bargain". I think its more like a "rip off" as we say in England.

  • I think $100 is too much to charge for this service.

  • @oliversteward2011

$0.26/a day. How expensive... Even a cup of coffee is more expensive and doesn't least for 24 hours.

  • Why so many dislikes :(

  • How about raising money by offering a swimsuit calendar of your girlfriend for say...$20? Seriously, she is hot and I think she would raise more money than the homie, er, I mean gnomie sub thingy...:-)

  • @FREISTUDIOS Great idea! :)

  • Wow $100 no thanks

  • wow look at the dislikes

i think they should rethink about the ideas of nomies thumbs up if you agree

  • Check out Fack by eminem, then you will see what it really means :D

  • My i7 hackintosh 4 sale check it out on eBay!!!! Now

  • Is Mary-Kate and Ashley in your "Full House"?

  • Is Mary-Kate and Ashley in your "Full House"?

  • i would pay 50 a year, but im sorry, its a bit out of my range :(

  • im sorry, i cant afford that chris :( oh btw, im the one that youve been talking to about selling those pc games

  • I love what your doing Chris.

  • Bleeding Intelligence!

  • Just checked out the site. My income doesn't support the price tag. But i will wish you luck. I'll just keep being subbed to your channel and visiting your main sites. :D

  • I hope this doesn't turn out to be another one of those internet cliche groups where people parade around a pride flag like the bronie fan base or sometimes even us furries, but that's the side of the fan base I stay clear of. I believe pride comes from accomplishment. Joining a internet group doesn't count. :) I may join the gnomies because I am into tech, and I try my best, even at the age of 31, to stay with the latest gadgets, without shaking a cane at new age stuff. :P

  • Meh, not really interested. Also, monthly subscriptions are the way to go. No one wants to shell out $100 at a time, along with myself. I prefer to pay by the month, so that if I don't want the service, I can cancel. But part of me feels like that's why you chose a yearly plan, so you get the full amount of money, just in case people don't like the service.

  • AAAWWW ITS 100 DOLLARS A YEAR!!!!!!~!

  • I summon Neutral Guy from Futurama :D

  • 78 likes 78 dislikes....... who will brake the tie

  • @forthewinmuch I broke it!

  • @heavymetalboy1 I fixed it again

  • Sounds similar to what gaming companies are doing nowadays *cough* Activision *cough*. Soon we'll have to pay for content entirely. You know what, if we have to pay for your content i'd say mroe than 80% will just unsubcribe.

  • The day you charge for content, is the day you ended your career. GoodBye, Chris.

  • @HandyPhoto You've obviously misunderstood this video.

  • You should make vlogs. Don't think you will be doing this ur whole life.

  • as the yrs go on ur getting more and more obsessed w/ $.U alrdy make over $6000 a month.I'm pretty sure ur exaggerating the price to make 1 article.every vid u are begging 4 people to donate and I doubt all of the donations r goin towards the articles.b4 u were about delivering good content, but now it's all about $ and you're getting hungry for it

  • I love TLDR but $1,000 a year! Thats iPad, Apple TV, and iPod Touch. No!

  • @BrandonFrn its 100 usd a year not 1000 lol

  • Nomi's?

  • hate this idea!!

  • @JennaHaze2000 Chris is still going to answer questions on TLDR, if you want a garuntee of a reponse rather than having to spam the comment box in hope, then Gnomies is for you - along with so many other benefits. Yes, Chris will give priorty to people who are willing to support him - who wouldn't?

  • as the yrs go on ur getting more and more obsessed w/ $.U alrdy make over $6000 a month.I'm pretty sure ur exaggerating the price to make 1 article.every vid u are begging 4 people to donate and I doubt all of the donations r goin towards the articles.b4 u were about delivering good content, but now it's all about $ and you're getting hungry for it

  • @ownerofaiphone I agree with you. And I thought it was funny that he said, "We can help you gain more followers/subs" because he in fact has the most inactive subscriber list I've ever seen. Over 200,000 subs and less than 5,000 views on the average video. Not sure I want to learn your "tips or secrets". Ha.

  • Why so many dislikes? Are people really that against paying for things? Are you all that cheap? I can understand being broke, and upset that you don't have the moeny to pay for such, but really, 97 a year is NOTHING for what you can get. If you are heavily active online, and want to make it a core to your moneymaking methods, this is MORE than perfect.

If you are just some kid online, it's not for you. That simple. If you are a kid with goals, then maybe... but this is not for everyone.

  • Being able to subscribe for just one month at a time would be great.

  • I won't be joining it but it sounds fair. He's offering a service with many perks. If you plan to be devoted to it then it could be worthwhile for $97 a year. Don't understand why there are so many complaints. There comes a time where one understands that when you offer too many things freely then people just abuse it or abuse you.

  • Chris isn't doing any less than he was before, Chris isn't doing any less than he was before for free. Lockergnome provide us with 5-10 articles a day, and for each article we get 5-10 videos, think about all that content that we get for free! We also get the live TLDR hour long - at least - broadcast, in which you can ask all the questions you like and if they haven't been answered before they will be. Gnomies is the added layer, and a way of saying thank you. It's well worth the asking price.

  • @danielwejones Chris wants people that ask question on his show to pay a fee.

But does he want viewers to pay too? I just watch the show on You tube ,so am I suppost to pay also?

  • $97.00 haha :p

if i have a tech problem and the fixed costs mee 100$ i buy a new 1..

  • @jensheylen He $100 weeds out who Chris true followers. He can now focus on the people who need his help the most

  • I'm starting to think that Chris is just here just for one purpose: THE MONEY. He use to care about the community and answered all questions before, now he's charging for his time and doesn't care to charge $100. I'm disappointed Chris :(

  • @sergioespina you forgot about the smugness and the im better than you effect lol

  • US$97? Are you kidding me CHRIS! You charge more than Microsoft's Xbox Live. Bit of a rip off?

  • I think gnomies is a really great idea, the fact that nothing will change for the "regular" users is awesome, cause lockergnome is already great the way it is. Personally, I would love to join but right now I'm saving all the money I can (while studying) to travel with a friend this summer. But as I said, great idea that I think many people will enjoy!

  • I don't think a majority of people will afford it. I certainty can't. Only the affluent few will be able to who already own an iPad2, Macbook Air and Macbook Pro not to mention an iMac in their office.

  • I can't really afford that... I'm sorry Chris.

  • At $97.00 USD for each year , no thanks!

I fix my own tech problems and always will.

  • The website needs to have a better user interface and exciting graphics at least in order to attract interest. I know looks are not always important but I was was uninspired. It looks like something out of wordpress sadly. I am not sure whether people during these economic times will part with $100 a year. Perhaps invest in creating better web content utilizing the skills of an advanced HTML programmer.

  • this is good but what happened to free and open source and stuff like . what man no no man

  • what the man you get 100 dolars and others die of poverty man

  • I love your videos but now locker gnome is just turning into a money crazy machine! Like if you agree

  • @TheWhisperingChild This is Chris' full-time job. If you like, we can point you to the unsubscribe button

  • @YamazaruNinja He's already got a pretty comfortable life without the rip-off subscription.

  • @TheWhisperingChild

Huh, what you don't realize is that you are getting something back. It's not like you pay $97 a year for nothing.

Also, this is his life, so he is doing all of these videos for us for free. And you get mad if he asks for anything back? even though it is completely optional?

  • @xXZarlachXx

he is getting paid by youtube aka google. he is not doing it for free

  • @zhen86

The point is that you are getting it for free. This is a way to say thanks to Chris as well as joining a great community and get discounts. The discounts/free downloads that has been released has been worth more than $97

  • @xXZarlachXx

You said he is DOING the video for us FREE, which in my mind is you are saying he is doing it for free. You should have said:" he is making the video free for us to view"

  • @xXZarlachXx

beside, its most likely american discount and american only stuff which 30% of the people could not use.free download? I can just type stuff on google and get lots of free downloads(Freeware), or even previously paid(gta1 and 2).

  • @zhen86

Sure. Everyone doesn't have to register.

  • I can't afford that : (

  • Some of your biggest fans probably can't afford that. It's not always about money :(

  • @ownerofaiphone Agreed, I think he's turning into an asshole to be honest

  • have you thought about doing a monthly sub insisted of a full 100 one time

  • I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member. Just saying.

  • I think $100 bucks is reasonable. Lowering the price only brings in trolls and people who will take it for granted., trust me, been there, done that.

  • Dude, Chris, get a job.

  • Chris's last attempt before he has to join the flippers at McDonalds.

  • how does this work for people in a different time zone?

  • @danorambo in what way?

  • Best money I have spent in a long time. If you don't see the value in this group, it's a good thing you are not in it.

  • You keep saying making these videos is taking up your time... I'm pretty sure you have been making a lot of money from YouTube so its not like its a complete waste of time..

  • @tazzy95 If You Have Nothing Nice To Say Dont Say It Also Keep The Video's Coming Chirs The True Gnomies Appreciate The Time and Effort You Put In.

  • I wish I could be one but I can't afford the service! :( This sucks for me!

  • I would love to, But 100 dollars is to steep for me :(

  • @izbm666 its only $9 a month, alot of websites and services are around that so it works out very fair

  • @shadowfallon Thats true but its not monthly. Its like 1 time payment i dont have 100 dollars

  • huuuuuuuuuuuuh........ sorry lockergnome but im gonna have to unsuscribe i subed only because of minecraft but now alkl i see is these videos. good bye lockergnome

  • How about trying to sell it on monthly basis, $100 is not gonna be an easy sell!

  • @Jmforever Not sure why you got marked as spam. The suggestion of paying by month is a great one, I think.

Another option Chris could go with would be a 7 day (or some time period) free trial of the service, so people can know if it's worth it for them.

  • @LOTRzagorath

haha thanks. Yeah that would be a good option but I think chis wouldn't do that because of the possibility of users getting what they can before the trial is up. Now for myself I would be happy to support Chris if I could pay monthly and the price was right because its within my budget. I did a little calculation:

    20 subs at 97=1940 a year

500 subs at 9= 4500 a month (give or take)

  • I will be becoming a Gnomie baby ya!!!

  • @lockergnome Would Gnomies be able to request articles that they would like to see be published?

  • Wouldn't want any of this, locker gnome newsletter is already becoming unbearable. People only really like your videos.

  • I say no to gnomies, for now... That may change! :) I just wan't to see how it goes.

  • It sounds like it could be a great system of support for me as I try to improve my blog, TechWilling, but I just do not have the money to spend....

  • No way man, thats expensive.

  • i miss we the ending we'll E you later

  • WOW, people real dont like you say "I have been bleeding intelligence" do they.

  • KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING LOVE THEM

  • I wish there's a trial account or like 1st few days we can login and take a look at how things look like.

  • ew wordpress 2011 theme

  • Make it free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • looks boring

  • I like what your doing Chris, Screw the haters....

  • I don't understand people's frustration with this. Nothing is changing. All Chris is doing is giving those of you who want to donate a chance for extra stuff. Quit complaining for something you don't have to do!

  • "we'd love for you to PAY us a visit"

    truth in advertising

  • WOW, that's all I have to say, what if some of your best Fans isn't able to give you a hundred bucks. I believe this is the beginning of the end of your success.

  • Chris we want monthly subscriptions, please! 100$ is just a bit steep for some.

  • I would like to be one but can't afford it.

  • Just don't forget us here.

  • Ha-ha! I was viewer 1... I do not feel successful. :/

  • Gnomies...
