  • in a few months this video is gonna be wih lots of cod mw3 fanboys

  • @JorgeV0o7 why? is this heli in MW3? if so, it will be funny seeing all the comment sfrom the people who have never heard of this 20 year old aircraft.

  • @SNIPERSTEVE420 @JorgeV0o7 Haha, I'm 13 and this has been one of my favorite aircraft since I was little. I was debating on whether or not to get MW3, but when I saw Ospreys in the trailer I knew I had to get it. The physics are somewhat realistic in campaign, but in multiplayer, it's a JOKE. For example, when dropping care packages it will slow down, to around 10 to 15 knots THEN start rotating the nacelles. Sometimes it even STOPS! It's a huge disappointment to say the least.

  • OK listen up people! The V-22 is better than any 46, 47, 53 or any other rotary aircraft, so deal with it. Like Brizzlewcu said it is taking over just like the F-35. And dont you guys worry its restricted to marine corps use only.

  • ya hes dead

  • mi-8, is better than this shit. i prefer a chinook or a seaknigth but this shit no

  • The V 22 is a piece of shit....

  • I remember this, one of the mech crossed some wires. Contorls for left were right and right was left.

  • おもしろいですね

  • This was 20 years ago, Say thanks it crashed then because they will correct the mistakes and take security precautions and it won't happen again

  • It is amazing that we would put our troops into this thing. Unlike any other production aircraft, an engine failure below 1,600 feet in the V-22 is unsurvivable. Period.

  • @dave8ization everyone comments on this, and it just proves they don't know jack, this aircraft has twin drive-shafts bolted into the wing joints, it can fly on one engine quite handily aslong as it isnt doing any heavy lifting ( like other vehicles )

it isnt, however by any means perfect

and if the gearboxes on either proprotor were to seize there is no way of uncoupling them to glide in to land in 'airplane' mode

which, again contrary to popular belief the osprey is normaly capable

  • I wouldn't give it the steam off my piss, damn waste of tax payers money.

  • There's simply no advantage compared to a helicopter. If there is a rotor or engine failure the plane simply crashes, it can't hover and it can't land with its remaining rotor tilted horizontally.

    Hope ya got a parachute.

  • ffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccccccccccccccccccccc@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

  • @quakov in case you didn't notice, this was a test flight in 1991.... look at the other take off videos where its stable and running smooth

  • @quakov the v22 osprey has been a reliable factor in most of our recent wars, between urgent landings, and can bug out pretty damn fast... There have been a few malfunctions but recently we have not seen any, and also this video is from 1991 when it first came out so there is no doubt going to be problems, but what you have to understand it does more good then harm

  • there goes my care pakage

  • ITT: People who know nothing about aeronautics. This plane is revolutionary, and there's a good reason why it's we still spend money on it.

  • @Winnman05

What the crap are you talking about. Just because its something new doesn't mean its useful. Its junk, its high risk, pie in the sky idea that sounds good on paper but fail in reality. You can't even load up a humvee into it. It fails in all its KPP's. You can do the same thing with a helicopter that doesn't crash if the gizmo FBW controls malfunction.

  • You all have no idea what youre talking about, its a fast, agile, can lift TWICE the pay load. Also it has a revolutionary manuver landing up and down. Learn what you're talking about before judge.

  • It was probably the wind.

  • It's big. heavy, slow and loud.

  • they have to get rid of these piece of shits

  • This was just a bad idea. It's rediculous.

  • That's probably where bungie got the idea

  • The original Falcon

  • That was my bad, i had one to many scotches that afternoon...

  • The USSR's failed attempt to build a working knockoff of this aircraft was the straw that broke the financial back of the Soviet Union. I suspect that was the only purpose of this aircraft program to begin with.

  • wow and this is why highly skilled pilots, pilot those

  • I hope they invent pelicans soon...(from halo) they are so cool and to have them in real life would be awesome

  • 事故の多くて非常に危険な海兵隊のこの航空機。

    普天間の人たちがこれから配備されるのを恐れているのが良く分かります。

  • Seems like we should start making Pelicans and Falcons.

  • @Piano99Man tell me about it. DIPS ON FLyING TEH PELICAN :D

  • @Piano99Man finally someone is starting to think towards the future

  • I am Japanese. I'm sorry in poor English.

The balance of this aircraft at about the brim seems to be bad somehow though it is my idea ・・・ It might become easy to remove the balance if it boldly makes it to all wing formula.

    私の考えですが、この航空機はなんだかヘリの状態の時の前後のバランスが悪そうですね・・・ 思い切って全翼式にしてみたらバランス取りやすくなるのではないでしょうか?

  • Yeah...and HOW OLD is this video? Do your homework. Like MANY US weapons (like the M-16) this too was managed by bureaucracy. Development was stunted, people lost lives, and the US people lost tax dollars.

Once they realized it WOULDNT WORK the way BUREAUCRATS wanted... they finally let the ENGINEERS DO THEIR JOBS. The V-22 is fine tech now.

  • the marines have landed.. GOOGOGO

  • @irkiIIer

Lol, just had a wierd image of a Dozen marines jumping out after the crash, Guns at the ready, unfazed.

  • they shud just stay with a blackhawk helicopter and the hercules aircraft they are most reliable 2 aircraft i know

  • @cemtexx That would be nice but this aircraft was developed because those two forms of aircraft failed during Operation Eagle Claw.

  • Was the osprey in Terminator 4, a marketing exericise, to make it look cool? they really pumped it on that movie

  • What a piece of shit!

  • its just faster that other helicopters

  • これが普天間に配備されるの?

  • i think this transformer is high

  • Heavy, massive, fuel guzzling and not working properly.

Maybe you need some European design

  • Bad demonstration :p

    FACEPLANT

  • I beleive they solved this problem. It's an old video.

  • why cant they use jets instead of props

  • Craaazzzzyyyyy

  • why does it do that youd think that they could use the same techb thats on the chinook

you dont see then flyin around doing nose dives

  • 1999

  • I hat how the media makes the V-22 out to be a huge waste because they think its unsafe..... this happens to aircraft early in production and testing. When the harrier was first introduced, multiple brave pilots lost their lives in testing, but I think that the V-22 is a great innovation.

  • i agree with that... and i think v-22 is such a beauty...

  • Why not make a quad motor variant? I know they had something like that on the drawing board and one point.

  • Tough shit but somebody has to do it...

  • from the very start you could see it was in trouble should have bailed.

  • that sucks knowing that u died on a test flight

  • pissed outta his head?

  • one of the greates aircraft ever, but still has some "minor" problems..

  • poor pilot

  • a hydro troops worse nightmare right here....

  • 27 billion dollars every year goes to this shitty ass aircraft ever since 1990s... and still is unreliable.... sad....

  • your an idiot.

  • even my friends in the marines dont like this aircraft, since you seem to be knowledgeable on this, explain why it took so long to and so much money to make this thing work jackass?

  • you know what? on second thought, i just realized i dont care about what you think.... keep talking shit, your making me famous.. :D

  • @quakov From the taxpayers or the FED printing press to the Military Industrial Complex, parasite criminals...Call your senator and Congressman demand they sponsor S-604 and HR 1207..Audit the FED WAKE UP ALREADY...

  • @quakov There's one at our city airport for an air show. That was a while ago. They're insane now. It's one of the coolest forms of aircraft I've ever seen.

  • @quakov your a dumbass. this is the best aircraft that is taking over. it can lift more, go farther, faster, higher, it is more efficient in everyway than its predesessor. how do i know this you might ask???? because i fly these everyday. every aircraft has a rough path growing up. EVERY aircraft. and your money "facts" need to be check out. have a great day

  • @brizzlewcu best aircraft that is taking over??? and your calling me a dumbass.... if that was so, why the hell do we have and fund projects to the uh1y and ah1z??? cuz this 35 million dollar aircraft isnt cutting it despite the years of engineering and developement, i dont care if you fly this or not... my tax dollars are funding this so fuck you!

  • @quakov what the hell do you mean fund projects??? yeah the yankees are a new aircraft. yes they are funded. and STILLLLL your facts are wrong. you need to do some research you little prick

  • @brizzlewcu what fact are you referring to??? why are you even getting upset?? i shared my opinion and you come in like some asshole by calling me dumbass and prick, do all military pilots talk like this!?

  • @brizzlewcu if im a dumbass, then explain why the hell did the marines upgrade the uh1s and ah1s? simply because we ran out of money and time to come up with something like the v-22, this was probably the 2nd most expensive aircraft to develop thats in service right now putting it right under the f22 raptor which that plane was ceased production. Even my 3 friends that serve in the marine corp admitted that they rather have a huey than a v-22 to get them outta the hotspots. Pretty bold statement

  • @quakov i really hope your just pulling my leg here. i will address each point you have made. The Marines upgraded skid kids because it was time for an update. the new software that they have is amazing. they can now go faster and farther than their predecessor, the skids still in use as of today. the new yankees and zulus are pretty sick. but what are they? they are LIGHT ASSAULT. 22's are MEDIUM support, logisticsand several other roles.

  • @quakov second point i will address- the osprey is not the most expensive ever made. yes it is expensive, because it is the first of its kind. the rolls that the v22 fulfills cannot be duplicated by any other ac. so because this costs x amount of dollars and is taking over for what 2 or 3 ac's do, your saving money. why do i have to point this out. theres many more reasons that i will respond with when you rebuttle again.

  • @quakov and come on man, your buds in the Corps are not grunts. they are probably admin B$#@#$% who got a joy ride and thought it was the coolest thing ever. EVERY grunt, recon, marsoc, rangers and other guys in combat have thanked the f'in lord for the osprey. why? because it went where nothing else could go. picked up more guys than your precious skids, got them out quicker and got them home safe. seriously dude, just quit while your ahead.

  • it's not the aircraft that's crap, it's the pilots that don't have the proper training.

  • I don't think that the aircraft is crap, it's the pilots that don't have the proper training.

  • @quakov Hey it's not unreliable, it's a good piece of work that we improved from a Canadian aircraft and it must have been windy when the crash happened smartass.

  • @santosm81 i still think the yankees uh1y's were a better idea...

  • @quakov Naw, it's had 27 billion spent on it overall since 1981. This video is from 1991, one of the first ones made. And when they're making a new class of airplane, problems are going to happen. Problems still happen, but it's still pretty cool.

  • @quakov

The worst thing of all is that they KNOW it sucks, but the are going further down the shitter and buying more of them.

  • @gosciu555 This was the FIRST god damn test flight, it is VERY reliable in many wars since then

  • @quakov Gets your facts straight, thats it total cost since the concept was introduced. Yes, that is a lot but it is an innovative idea worth going into and spending the time getting right. And if they dropped it now that would be 27 billion dollars down the drain for nothing.

  • @quakov hey dude is the mh-53 better than this thing? i like more the mh-53 it looks better than this one

  • @micho645 the v-22 was specifically designed to replace the mh53. its faster, flys farther and quieter than any other helicopter. If you talking about reliability.... or cost efficiency... then no... the us has spent too damn much money to fund this aircraft program... i too am a fan of the mh-53 the design really looks cool

  • @quakov i know

XM8 gets like 2 years of testing

this damn thing gets like 10 years

  • FYI it was a faulty flight control system that cause the lose of control and the subsequent crash.

  • word to anyone wanting to know or if you THINK the pilots died, they didnt, this was on destroyed in seconds, they didnt die.

  • i can see what went wrong here.....some silly twat put the engines on the wrong way....he was doomed from the start

  • Wtf... what's wrong here has NOTHING to do with "some silly twat putting the engines on the wrong way." However, the problem is that the pilot couldn't control the throttle on both engines to keep the aircraft level.

  • you are havin a laugh?....right?.....i was!!!!

  • Biggest waste of tax payers money ever

They want to replace the MH-53 Pavelow III with this piece of crap - it cant even hold the same amount of people

They should have just bought a load of Chinooks

    moreover

because the Us have dropped the Pavelow there having to the Raf's Chinooks

  • It can bi safe only if both engines work without failure. Helikopters in this situation can make an emergency landing or iven to continue flight

  • well, it's safer now, this one was from ages ago, but the ones that the USMC fly have better controls and a more stable flight path.

  • Biggest military blunder in history

  • The reason for that crash, if I remember properly, was that the tilt-rotor shredded the hydraulic lines.

  • FAIL!

  • fag

  • The whole point of the Osprey was to build an aircraft with VTOL like a helicopter, but with airbourne speed like a jet. As it is it can travel at 400knts, propelled by the most powerful turboshafts ever made (7000bhp). Most of the problems have been resolved now, but as the vid shows, the Osprey had a troubled upbringing. An even more disastrous crash occurred in 1989, when 4 civilians died as well as the 6 pilots.

  • I understand there have been 3 fatal accidents, killing a total of 30 people.

  • that's fucken epic

  • Two words.....EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!!!

Good thing modern ones work better. Go USAF.

  • lol fail

  • i hope your grandpa was in there

  • Not really because he was in the navy

  • nice

  • Eh, half you guys are idiots, this air craft now flies better then most,

    Briantino was right.

This is from 1991, now, they work just fine.

    wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/V-22_Osprey

  • yeah but how many died trying to get this ugly looking monstrosity to fly properly?

  • Hope they were not killed

  • 7 people died in this accident. so yeah they did

  • did they really die? info/link plzz

  • With all this crashing they are actually going to figure out how to make one that actually works... then theyre going to put jet engines on it.

  • pwned?0_0

  • That's crazy....

  • If they just asked me I would have told them that thing is to stupid looking to fly so don't waste your time.

  • Its actually a great aircraft, airspeed and range of an airplane, and it can land virtually anywhere.

Plus it has 95% less heat then a helicopter and its more than 50% quieter.

  • But can it actually FLY ,Briantino?

  • Good point, might as well compare it to your car? :P

  • did you know 90% of poeple who make random comments are never more than 50% acurate, and there's only a 5 in 10 chance that 10% of their information is 50% acurate, and thats only in 1% of the population.

ps this survey was compliled from 5% of said population only answering 15% of all questions 8% honestly.

the end result is there is a 99% chance this post is utter crap.

im holding out for the 1%

  • Heh, and the fact that those statistics were probably made up only proves your point. Clever.

  • Ha ha ha ha ha. That was a great crash!

  • The few, the proud, the marines. LOL

  • FUCKIN DEATH TRAP

  • beat the winds,take altitude

  • i took a good look into the crash they tryed to take off in a bad wind which confuses me cuz why would u try to take it off in high winds?

  • to test the aircraft??

  • bad pilot

  • Experimental aircraft

  • 22 pepole were killed in tests like that

  • i feel sorry for the pilot. gg.

  • as a technical aspect, the osprey in vtol flight flies like a Chinook going sideways, the technical problems it had were largely related to vorticies in the air over its rotors, caused mainly by the structure of the rotors. the result was that one side would lose lift and the other would gain it. so it'd tip over, crash, burn and nobody could tell what happened. its all sorted now, I watched a demo flight at an airbase near where I live. twas a sight to see.

  • ...o...m...g...

  • FAIL!

  • Indeed. I believe it was attempting a barrel roll

  • Omg ppl shut it bout it being "not safe"...Hell, statistically speaking, the Harrier is the most dangerous aircraft i nsevice to date.Suck on that beeyotch.

  • Tecnocreep, the whole design of the V-22 Osprey is the ability to be able to change from rotocraft, to airplane. If they put a prop in the tail, then it defeats the purpose for it to become an airplane. Anyways, now they have worked out all of the kinks, and it is fully operational.

  • they should've scrapped that project after they crashed the first two prototypes... Every crash of these were caused to one or both engines losing power, it's just a piss poor design.

  • i hate this air plane, doesnt seam safe to me from the first time i saw it i hated it, waste of money in my opinion

  • it is in full service you fucking asshat. came into service in '06

  • unfortunately it is. it had already killed 34 people, 4 of which were civilian, before it was put into production

  • ah ah ah ah ....US has spent bilions trying to fly this shit without never making it...if Russian would have built it would be in full service now.

  • Yes, it would have been rushed in to full service by now, and had frequent crashes.

  • It's in service now...Been to Iraq...Is doing just fine. *cheers*

  • "A miswired flight control system led to two minor injuries when the left nacelle struck the ground while the aircraft was hovering 15 feet (4.6 m) in the air, causing it to bounce and catch fire on 11 June 1991.[1]" from wikipedia

  • holy shit...were there pilots in there during this flight?

  • who created this shit flying ?

  • what a nice crash for the lemon

  • fuck the airplanes, so damn unreliable

  • They say the v22 will replace the 53's HA HA Wat ever.....

  • lol they did a lot of work on them...back in 1991 ospreys sucked

  • My boyfriend is AM in the Marines and he's going to be fixing them.

He says they still suck lol.

  • With a small multi-directional prop in the tail, this could be avoided. At take-off, you would slightly rotate the craft, clockwise or counter-clockwise, in the direction of the higher pitched side, to offset enough of that rocking motion to take-off safely. A small prop in the tail would add a ton more stability. In the future, the V-25 Osprey Elite will have a small multi-directional prop in the tail, expandable wings, and will run off a monatomic nuclear power net, instead of fossil fuels.

  • The problem was caused by improper programming in the flight control system directing thrust in both nacelles. Do your research, dipstick. The problem's been fixed.

  • After it becoming operation in 2006, it had 6 notable small incidents.

  • This a/craft is cool looking but it needs autorotate, if theres no power, blades wont rotate, hence no safe landing. This craft has never recieved fire, so when u say it's perfect just cause it performed in Iraq, u kinda distort the facts. This needs autorotate! Cool design though....

  • It's a test, and a good one, because it is a learning experience. Here is how the V22 performs ever since : ?v=6BhmNoCacUA&feature=related

  • The MV-22B Osprey has flown combat operations for 5 months in Iraq now, with nothing but possitive feedback. There have been ZERO problems with the Osprey in testing when it was assembled and maintained properly.

  • That's why they call it a "test." Of course, the news media doesn't care. They'll do anything they can to trash the military.

  • This is from June 11th 1991. It was caused by a miswired flight control system which led to two minor injuries when the left nacelle struck the ground while the aircraft was hovering 15 feet in the air. The Osprey has had four crashs during 18 years of testing, and all four were caused by problems that cause many other aircraft to crash as well. Two incidents were caused by miswired flight control systems, one by a leaking gear box, one another was caused by a stalled engine.
