i love to karaoke this song! when i'm not banging my metal head, i'm enjoying the sweet sounds of the 60's... modern music cannot recapture the innocence and sincerity of that era.
Man, this song makes me sad, not like, sad sad, more like, reminiscent sad, but I'm not sure what I'm remembering since I'm only sixteen. The only possible explanation is that in a past life I did some gallivanting in a city in the summer. Yep, that's probably it.
Best quality upload I have found - [so I have downloaded it] many thanks! Watched the old Die Hard film again and realised I had not this track on the old PC.
these two would freeze if they did this in fall/winter weather.great song by them.if you think janet jackson/justin timberlake did that dareful superbowl act, think again after seeing this album cover.
Hahah 1 person dislikes getting the back of their neck dirt and gritty.
LS was from NY apparently but If you have ever lived in Los Angeles, or had to deal with it's abomonation of a freeway system, or if you've even walked down Wilshire blvd. The whole first verse of the song captures that feeling perfectly. Just like the beginning of "Falling Down" when Michael Douglass is stuck in traffic, no A/C, and there's a fucking fly buzzing around in his car. It's such a relatable song.
This is just great lyrcism and song composition. It ain't mozart, but that's not what I am in the mood for right now. It's HOT and I'm working from my office at home and there's no damn AC in this place. This kind of REAL workin-man song was coming out a couple years after all that "I AM THE WALRUS" bullshit. I realize hippyism was cool then, but when you go to india and don't speak the language and know nothing about the culture then make an album about it.... it's just fuckin lame. LS Rocks!
@Queenesy This is this song's original version, by The Lovin' Spoonful, it was a hit in 1966. The singer is John Sebastian. He was the band's songwriter, & he played guitar, harmonica, keyboards, auto-harp. They were an American band, one of the best ones in the mid-1960s, at the time of the British Invasion of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Kinks, Them, The Yardbirds, etc.. in the US. Their career ended abruptly when guitarist Zal Yanovsky was busted for marijuana possession
Damn, this is 1960's shit. Old School and still after 50 years it's the music that i'd prefer to listen to over pretty much anything. Pure talent and creativity right here folks. They call that music. :D
@MadeInVain You're missing the ''2000's shit'' Arcade Fire, Ray LaMontagne (and The Pariah Dogs), Joe Bonamassa, Gillian Welch, John Hiatt, Israel Nash Gripka, Black Country Communion, Angus & Julia Stone, The National...
VERY cool song. Even after all these years.

Simon: "Simon Says". Simon's going to tell Lt. McClane what to do, and Lt. McClane is going to do it. Noncompliance will result in a penalty.
Inspector Cobb: What penalty?
Simon: Another big bang in a very public place.

I always assumed this was Joe Cocker's song. It's good to finally hear the original although every version of this song is awesome.
