  • How do i do it in a Mac Mini Late 2009?

  • @Andy81m the maximum ram upgrade for all Mac mini's is 8gb. The one that you ordered has 2 2gb sticks. You can get 2 4gb sticks from Kingston for less than 100 dollars. It's definitely worth the upgrade!

  • What is the Maximum RAM that i can put in the Mac Mini? I ordered the 2011 Mac mini i7 yesterday with 4gb ram. Is it possible to make 16gb in there. Sorry for my English ;)

  • When you put the mini upside down on the desk and gave it a spin, I screamed out loud. Poor Mini.

  • Thats a 2010 not a 2011

  • @TheXStationGamers sorry, i meant 2011 Ram versions, not the mac mini itself.

  • @ChannelXboxFTW right no sweat m8

  • what headset do u use? and do u use an gaming keyboard & mouse? i bought a Mac Mini today :)

  • @Topflh1 i do not game on my mac mini, i have an xbox that i connect to my computer with an hd per to record my videos

  • Kid, talking performance wise, is it noticeable when doing normal none demanding things?

  • @Davidsama I'd be lost without an optical drive as I use my pc for video editing and I burn a lot of blurays and DVDs.

As far as the RAM upgrade there shouldn't really be a speed difference as much as it preventing the computer from slowing down after the machine has no RAM addresses to use and begins to use the hard drive for virtual memory heavily. So basically RAM doesn't speed up a computer as much as preventing it from slowing down so basic web browsing shouldn't make a difference.

  • I realize that this mac mini is a 2010 version, but when i custom ordered this from apple, i got many part removed, and new 2011 upgrades placed in. like the i5 processor.

  • @ChannelXboxFTW Come on now...you've got a respectable little computer there and quite frankly for what anyone would do on such a low power machine (even with the i5s) the Core2Duo is more than enough.

Your CPU uses the FCPGA6 socket, the i5 is rPGA-988A. Not compatible.

Even so, I'd rather have the optical drive than a slightly faster CPU on a system like this. This is also the first time I've ever seen people debate the model year of a computer. Mac maniacs are funny.

  • @94XJ I agree, the even though the optical drive is old technology, there are still a few uses for it.. I guess the reason why people are debating about the year is because the newer 2011 no longer come with core 2 duo... If the kid got his Mac in 2011, he should have waited a bit longer till the new one to hit the stores..

  • that's not a 2010 its a 2011

  • @TheTechSped yes

  • @TheTechSped That's definitely a 2010 model. It has a CD Drive.

  • @frezehst wow fail I got them mixed up and the sad part is that I have a 2011 Mac Mini

  • @TheTechSped Speaking of which where did you buy the RAM? What manufacturer produces it?

  • @frezehst It's just Kingston memory and very low speed RAM at that.

  • core 2 duo 2.4ghz Mac Mini 2011 ? strange.......

  • Great video! Its nice to see a simple no frills ram upgrade video.

  • @jdatwrk thanks. i did this video because i had seen all of the other videos and they did not help me, so i assumed they also did not help others.

  • Your Mac mini is the 2010 version right?

  • @furtado83 its a 2010 model with all 2011 upgrades (except the Ram of course).
