I had a problem with this distro not downloading right onto my Sandisk usb stick. I used the universal USB download worked great for Linux mint lxde but when I tried installing it, it went to quick and did not install all the way then I tried booting it up it kept staying on the screen where you get the choice of installing or starting and trying out the Linux mint Debian xfce.
I wanted to install it instead of mint9, but what I didn't like was some warning messages when booting from usb, inability to create/mount a fat32 drive in the installer and a weird beep from my pc when asked to shutdown. However these aren't big problems and i will install it on my pc.
@tostoday The Xubuntu 11.04 (beta 2) was very unstable, but fast. I was so tired of the slow and ugly unity in Ubuntu, that I decided to shift to xfce.
The Linux Mint xfce is good except for an ugly, outdated, Firefox 3.6 browser. I am downloading Fedora xfce now.
I made the switch from ubuntu 10.04 LTS to this version a couple of days ago. Made some menu tweaks and now if you did not know any better would think your in ubuntu 10.04. Excelent release!
@tostoday I just through up a video of my desktop stop by and have a look, let me know what you think. I can understand about the installer for a new user, for myself it installed as smooth as butter. There were over 700 updates once installed but other than that, I've been moving software over, the hole 9 yards. Its been rock solid. I chose Debian because i just need the full separation from Ubuntu and maybe one day i may feel differently. Until then Debian Mint is my new Home!
@alihammadshah Upgrades don't always work. The best way is to delete Julia after saving important files first, then a fresh install with XFCE. If you can, boot off a USB stick and try it that way first.

@yeahbabyitslaura Yeah, I usually install from a CD but I also noticed the installer is not as user friendly.

I am a xfce fan now. The bad press that Unity and Gnome are getting is well-deserved.
