i understand where you are coming from but The Weekend: Friday is a more of a pop-rock album and the others (Saturday/Sunday) will be different sounding as well. Saturday is more like their old stuff more alternative rock (Keeps On Bringing Me Down & Get Over yourself) whereas Sunday will be slower songs :) <3

I love them, I have loved them for....forever. lol. I walked into hot topic one day and they had a song playing, and i know what you mean when you say they hit you immidiately because at that moment i bought it cuz i loved it SO MUCH! now with their new album it does sound like they're becoming...cookie cutter. I feel the same way. As a HUGE fan of FTSK I didnt really want to admit it at first but this album is kinda generic and I was a bit dissapointed. The Weekend:Saturday they just got done recording and I herd is being released at the begining of the school year, but school starts at different months all over the world so most likely August or September(Hopefully August). I Really want them to get back to their old sound and maybe even do some more acoustic songs.

Forever the Sickest Kids hands down is one of my favorite bands, just like you, I had the same reaction to this EP as well. I love this EP so much now, but when I first listened to it I was really disappointed and didn't really like any of the songs like I was hoping to. I gave it another shot and I really like all of the songs. But yes they are slightly a little generic on this EP. ehh :(

I enjoyed Underdog Alma Mater a lot, but even that was completely generic and formulaic. FTSK was never a unique band whatsoever. The only reason they're any good is because they release catchy pop songs.

i definitely agree with your response. All the bands play catchy pop music, but All Time Low is the only one that's been original and consistent the whole time.... on that note, I like catchy pop music and I'm not too picky, whatever I can just play and listen to will do when I hang out with friends playing cards, pool, darts, bonfires, all that fun stuff.

pretty much all the bands i like are going towards this 'generic' sound. i didn't like it at first, but it really isn't that bad once you get used to it. It's the entire genre(ie All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, FTSK, Every Avenue, The Cab, Cartel, etc..) that's shifting. Some people say they're all selling out, others just don't like it anymore, but i think it's just a change (not the best,but could be worse). you dont see disco around still, do you? think about it.

To be honest, out of those bands, the only one that hasn't been generic and average from the start is All Time Low. The rest have been making mainstream pop music since the beginning. And it's fun to listen to - it's catchy, it's a good time. But it's not unique, truly satisfying music and it never has been. I love All Time Low and I still do - they're my big exception here - but the rest were never anything special.

it was the same for me. it took a while for me to really get into the songs. i think She Likes is alooot like their previous music from underdgo alma mater, but all the other songs have more of a hip-hop/ pop vibe. but i still really love the album. and hawkbot is actually one of my favorites song off the album :)

What do you want from me, was just all around good, and I reaallly liked it the first listen. I really like your review of this! I feel the exact same way. I'm an ftsk die hard, have been since '07 and i feel as though its a bit generic. As i listened more i started to love it though because it's just so damn catchy and it's them of course. My favorite tracks are Do Or Die and Tough Love. Always stuck in my head lol. We are not even close of having the same taste in music. But that's not really relevant. What I do think that you are wrong about is that you make it sound like good songs= songs that get to you first time listening to it. I'd rather say that good musicans make music that's a bit more complicated than that and take some more time to get in to. For me those are the bands that you stick to rather than the songs in mainstream radio (not saying you listen to such bands/artists)

Being perfectly honest, (and I haven't listened to TW:F yet - buying it Saturday, which is kinda ironic, huh?), nothing FTSK put out from now on will live up to Underdog Alma Mater.
