You really need a better sense of history. The USA's debt/GDP is not that bad, certainly not as bad as Japan's was in the 90's. And Japan pulled out of that crisis fairly well, and they still have a higher debt level than the US.
Other countries manage their finances well with socialized health care; it reduces costs in the long run. Greater health in the populace can have very tangible benefits. Besides, the paltry health reform that will be passed this year is supposed to be budget neutral.

I cant get behind another Government program. When I was in college, there were only 3 students to every 1 person in an administrative position. You really need a better sense of history. The USA's debt/GDP is not that bad, certainly not as bad as Japan's was in the 90's. And Japan pulled out of that crisis fairly well, and they still have a higher debt level than the US.
Other countries manage their finances well with socialized health care; it reduces costs in the long run. Greater health in the populace can have very tangible benefits. Besides, the paltry health reform that will be passed this year is supposed to be budget neutral.

The clusterf-ck known as the U.S. healthcare "system" costs over 16% of GDP while leaving 40 million uninsured and millions underinsured. Google "nchc facts coverage" and read the results of their latest study, and we´ll go from there. There is very little evidence to even support our role in GW, or even that CO2 plays a role. The lab that was performed to show CO2 as a GH gas concentrated it in a 1800PPM environment and raised the overall temp by 1 degree C. To get to 1800 at current rates of increase, 5PPM/decade would take 600 yrs, and thats for a 1 degree change from CO2.

The margins of error are adjusted for based on the amount of time that a scientist claims that they are going back, eg the Ice cores. The funny thing, they found an Ice core that had a very slight correlation to a tree ring, but they were in completely different regions. Then when they tried to repeat the results, unsuccessful. Why do people want him to get all jazzed up about the whole Iran thing. Revolutions are messy. Let them do their thing. We don't need to police the world. Those were the Bush years. If you hate someone like Saddam or Ahmadinejad, take him out yourself; Don't send someone else's kids. We don't need to spend a trillion dollars because some Christians are in a war with some Muslims over which of them is more ridiculous.

I think you just answered your own question. The PEANUT GALLERY, who want him to fail, are not currently in a position of responsibility, and have nothing to lose are hoping that if they call him "chicken" enough, he'll inject himself into it, and make a mess of it.
Fortunately, this is not George "Flick" Bush who'll stick his tongue to a frozen flagpole just because you tripple-dog-dared him to.

He completely misused that quotation from Dr. King.
MLK's actual words: "More and more I feel that the people of ill will have used time much more effectively than have the people of good will. We will have to repent in this generation not merely for ...bad people but for the appalling silence of the good people. Human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the tireless efforts of men... [otherwise] time itself becomes an ally of the forces of social stagnation."

NO, actually Dr. King said: "When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows. Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice."

MLK was against the notion that time is a force for change -- that we should believe that time will inevitably bring about justice. The quotation "the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice" is a reassurance of faith, not a hope in the inevitability of justice.

I did not negate King saying anything. And frankly I fail to understand what the hell your point is. The reference to time is evident in the quote. Yes it is about faith but it also attempts to reassure that the limits of human perception do not limit the ability of time to reestablish justice. You pulled some other quote out that Obama did not use and then label it his "actual" words. Makes no sense. What is your argument??

There's no argument, per se. I'm just saying there is a tension between the words of MLK between hope for justice and waiting for justice. I think this is a general tension that has a philosophical root as opposed to being a fault of Obama or MLK. Indeed, I support Obama's prudence on this matter.
