  • observe what you like, with a warped sense of reality

  • you have no idea what you're talking about. you must be a college kid reading those handout booklets in those anti-israel stall written by the Islamic Student Association of your school, or worse, you actually believe the extremely biased news you get from liberal american television, instead of reading some good analyst mags like Time or NearEast Report.

  • darn arent u representing iranians perfectly... vulgar, self-righteous, and moronically emotional

    are you extremist as well?

  • vague vague vague, exactly what he promised wont happen. ever since january, all we've been given was hope. that was supposed to have ended when he was elected, by now we should've seen action, or clear movement toward action. all ive seen was more words, more promises. theres no way this can get better

  • Especially good that Barack has to remind the press corps that HE is the PRESIDENT not once, but twice within 20 seconds........think he may be having an identity crisis......geez, what will he be like in 18 mos. after he further crashes the economy and his ratings are in the 20's or 30's.........that is if we are all not in a Venezuelan prison by then.......

  • Talking about having to remind the press that he IS the president a couple of times is the same feeling I get when I talk to stupid people, you have to tell them over and over for them to get the point.

BTW, having to remind the press that he IS the president a couple of times is the same feeling I get when I talk to stupid people, you have to tell them over and over for them to get the point.

  • so what was the point? what was the point?

  • Whatever you right winger republician. You supported a President who lied to his country about WMD's in Iraq and the same man who took over 400 days vacation time while he was in office. those 400 days could have been used to actually fix our country and say "Fuck everybody else, we have to get OUR shit together" You're just bitter because a black person is in office and you're beyond ignorant. Wishing and saying our President is going to fail because he is a democrat is the most unamerican

  • Those who always have to make it about RACE..........sheesh! You should probably share a cell with O.J..........in fact, you'd probably like that!

  • I assume you think im Black. Im not. im white dipshit.

  • you're the knucklehead who brought race into the discussion dude, not me....unlike you, i don't ASSUME anything, I know how to read....and not just yahoo/youtube posts..............Obama and those like him, and YOU, are the bane of our potential as an economic power. What fools like you don't realize, is that you're playing into the politicians plan to control you and keep you down......but then your ambition seems to be to perfect vulgarity...a task for which you seem well-suited........

  • thing you can do. If the President fails then WE as a COUNTRY Fails and we will no longer exsist as a country. Take you're head out of you're ass and SUPPORT OUR COUNTRY YOU FUCKTARD.

  • Nice vocabulary npm420.........if the President's (i.e. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, and every blood-sucking liberal like yourself) AGENDA fails.......that means that the taxpaying Americans win..........if he (and all of those like YOU) succeed, the USA will be nothing more than a nice tourist stop for the Chinese.........

  • HH definitely wins this one... np420 is such a moron it's simply beyond belief... the answer to ppl like these is simple: GET THE FUCK OFF THE INTERNET! AND ONCE YOU DO THAT, GET THE FUCK OFF THIS COUNTRY! AND ONCE YOU DO THAT, GET THE FUCK OFF THIS PLANET!

  • WAYNE SUCKS BALLS DAMM HES GOOD

  • our barry who art in DC hallowed be thy name thy taxes come destruction done in boise as it is in boston give us this day to feed the fed and forgive us our trespasses as you condemn those and pass laws against us lead us blind into fascism and deliver us from freedom for thine is the bullshit, the banksters, the taxes to keep us in tyranny forever, amen. . .
  • There is a wing-nut...

  • As for Iraq, if we didn't rebuild, history would've repeated itself. There has to be a stable democracy in Iraq or it will be a breeding ground for terror. It happened in AFG, same situation. You can't just pull out pinehead, but I thought we were debating HC?

  • Here is to anyone who wants to know about the health plan by Obama.

    /watch?v=zZ-6ebku3_E&feature=c hannel

  • carbon whore algore was scheduled to make a special guest appearance at the congress show to sway undecided prostiticians to vote for cap and trade-they used barry instead. he is a better liar

see"al gore sued by "30,000 scientists for fraud" on youtube

  • Thumbs up

  • most of the house congressional members have channels on youtube

    find yours-leave them a message like this. . . .

YOU VOTE FOR CAP AND TRADE

I WILL VOTE TO THROW YOUR ASS OUT

"under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket"-barack obama january 2008

    THE GENERAL ELECTRIC BAILOUT BILL

  • JAM THE CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD!-CALL YOUR REPS

DEMAND A NO VOTE, OR THROW THEIR ASS OUT

THE GENERAL ELECTRIC CAP AND TRADE SUBSIDY BILL-this is why they scheduled the ABC "healthcare propaganda show" last night; to divert attention from cap and trade TAXES paid by us. . .

watch(from january 2008 in his own words):

"Obama:my plan makes electrcity rates skyrocket"

on youtube. proof positive who he cares about. banksters.

  • Hundreds murdered???? and he is appalled?

What about expelling the Iranian ambassadors from US soil? Economical sanctions? Anything!!!!! "Because we don't know yet?"

    Weakest president in American history!

  • US President has no authority to dictate Iran. US President is NOT the world leader. There is no legal office. Just because you got a big stick, doesn't mean you can go beating up everyone you don't like.

How are those sanctions gonna help? the regular people will suffer, but the powerful people will still live comfortable lifes. Look at Iraq, US sanctions during Saddam's years lead to thousands of people starving and in the end it did nothing.

  • its true that the op is misinformed, since iran has withdrawn its ambassadors already, and we do have active as well as pending sanctions as well. It's not true, "fig1024", that he has no authority to dictate iran, and that those sanctions won't help. just to go personal for one sentence, both commenters' lack of insight is pathetic. i will elaborate in my next comment.....

  • So, the following: america has been bossing around since it became a world power, and since we are in the security council, then BY DEFINITION the president is, to some extent, a world leader indeed, and has an OBLIGATION to comment negatively at the brutality of the Irn. regime. Sanctions DO hurt the "people", but then again, haven't the people's uprising led to serious repercussions for their government? This is exactly what we've been looking for! - a wake up call from their people.

  • I am pdroud that our president claims his role as the leader of the free world and with his leadership we shall remain,.,.,its not our grandmothers world folks

  • I wish people would stop saying he is the leader of the free world. The world is'nt free and He is the president of the US not the world..

  • Our president is doing an excellent job in regard to Iran. He is putting our country first. We don't need another war as we clearly have enough on our plate. At the same time he is respecting the wishes of the protesters by letting them be the face of their revolution. This is their time to shine not ours. I love the way he handles Chuck. That was a great common sense answer. The media is a joke these days our president doesn't kiss their ass and they don't know how to behave as a result.

  • well said

  • Anchorman. Very funny movie.

  • He is also making the protesters a top priority, and protecting them from the accusation, that they are puppets of the US government. He has condemned the violence, and the suppression of free speech, and the arrests. What else is he supposed to do?

  • Exactly!

  • What does Obama mean at the end, when he says, "justice will prevail?"

What would Obama's "justice" look like, I wonder. (hope it isn't yet another damned war)

I get real worried - real worried - when politicians go off the air, spouting the lofty rhetoric. They are looking to do something painful and we, the US Taxper will make more sacrifices.

---kind of like wrapping shit in pretty paper, giving it to me as a present, and expecting me to thank them.

  • What the Iranians need is for some Danish cartoonist to do some more Muhammad cartoons. That way they can redirect the anger of irrational Muslims towards something outside Iran. The Americans achieved the same result with 9/11.

  • 'Justice will prevail' unless your being detained indefinitely with no charges.

  • I wish he told Shepard that this was a News conference and it was intended for Journalists.

  • I kinda wish he had just added the word "bitch" after every sentence.

  • Obama ate Chuck Todd's asshole alive.

  • Chuck Todd is such a DB! & I use that term sparingly.

  • I say Chuck got fist-fucked

  • Define the word "wuss", because I don't see that in his decisions.

  • Like all the repugs that stood by while Bush fucked up our country?

  • Who? You mean that man who made the ignorant claim that people in that part of the world are hungry for FREEDOM? Yea that guy was full of shit....

  • "i am the president of the united states"....damn, that must feel good to say.

  • are people still doing the" wake up sheeple take your blinders off getyour heads out of your asses you're all blind" stuff? - that is so two months ago - folks, come up with some new bullets points, the moment you play the "wake up sheeple" card, everyone stops listening to you

  • He didn't say anything for the people of Gaza while Israeli's were killing them.

  • That is between two parties. Iran is at a state of implosion at the moment.

  • I love seeing Todd slapped down the little weasel.

  • I quite enjoyed that moment as well.

  • obama should have just said FUCK OFF

  • Then Cheney would have sued for copyright infringement.

  • LOL yeah

  • yeah dude, THAT is what he should have done!! Then he should have thumbed his nose and said, nanananan.......which is about all he CAN do without the aid of a teleprompter....

  • Gotta love how that Republican shill, Chip Reid, got OWNED cold by Obama. LOL

  • That reporter is quite the nitpicker.

  • What else is to be expected from war hawk tv.. , um sorry Fox news.

  • ... I thumbs down this comment... just because I can.

  • Bush would probably sing the "bomb Iran" song like McCain

  • Ok, so it's okay for people halfway around the world to peacefully protest but then you turn right around and tell us that we can't do that in form of bills and amendments. What about our right to peacefully assemble Obama?

  • To delicfloer: there must be something wrong with you, if you think America and Iran are in the same situation. BTW, the Patriot Act and FISA were introduced and signed into law by George W. Bush, who betrayed our conservative values and principles on issues like individual liberties and fiscal responsibility!!!

  • umm have you been living under a rock? our rights and liberties are being stripped away from us and you obviously haven't been paying attention. And I'm fucking sick and tired of fuckers who think that just because someone doesn't like Obama means they must be blind to Bush. Wake up, neither are good and both are guilty of violating our rights....start reading.

  • ? neither are good?... what has obama done? SAY SOMETHING TO SUPPORT YOURSELF FACTUALLY. Obama hasn't repealed the patriot act and is probably going to make republicans eat their own garbage legislation, if you think that obama is guilty of violating our rights? think of this is it a right to be of good health? ... socialize medicare so what if rich people may have to wait in line for a bit.

  • hahaha where in the hell is our broke ass government going to get the money for socialized healthcare? China? Are we going to push ourselves further into debt for this? They already took tax exemptions away from children in Cali...Who or what is next?

get with the program america is broke and quickly going the way of myanmar. im not going to defend myself against people who are ignorant anymore.

  • You really need a better sense of history. The USA's debt/GDP is not that bad, certainly not as bad as Japan's was in the 90's. And Japan pulled out of that crisis fairly well, and they still have a higher debt level than the US.

Other countries manage their finances well with socialized health care; it reduces costs in the long run. Greater health in the populace can have very tangible benefits. Besides, the paltry health reform that will be passed this year is supposed to be budget neutral.

  • "Other countries manage their finances well with socialized health care; it reduces costs in the long run. "

All the other developed countries spend less than 10% GDP on healthcare and have better coverage for everybody. The clusterf-ck known as the U.S. healthcare "system" costs over 16% of GDP while leaving 40 million uninsured and millions underinsured. The "it's too expensive to do this" argument holds no water, but the politicians against it CARRY a lot for the HMOs on the issue.

  • Taxes. Raising taxes for better health care would be ideal.

Who would pay the higher taxes? Why the people who got the bailout money bonuses, of course!

  • ... But has he done anything wrong, you didnt' actually answer the question. Yes we have a deficit now, pretty much the whole world has one right now, bush was doing some stupid things like selling our future to china, but in terms of regulating health care it would be cheaper for americans to buy bulk health care through taxes, yes we need to kick the credit habit but America is not in any way a doomed state nor are the americans a doomed nation.

  • To delicflower: As a proud libertarian with strong ties to the pro-life and conservative movement, there is no reason why I would defend the new Administration. But let´s be honest: the Patriot Act, FISA and Wall-Street bailout were introduced and signed into law by George W. Bush! If you can´t admit these facts, that would mean that you are either dumb or a natural born moron!!!

  • bobhardball.Good comment..But remember the Bank bailout was bought on by the September 15 2008 550 billion 2 hour electronic run on our money markets. That caused the Panic, that caused the rushed 750 billion wasted bailout..Which is said to have been done by Warren Buffet to help Obama win the election..So he will get that on his clock..But lets not forget about 6 years of Nation Building by Bush and now Obama, and not backing our dollar ( except with junk bonds ) Hyper inflation or deflation ?

  • We spent almost $1 trillion to rebuild Iraq, but we are reluctant to spend the same amount of money to rebuild our roads and bridges, save our economic system and provide our own citizens with healthcare. Where is the (conservative or liberal) outrage?

  • bob...I agree totally....Except a forced healthcare on small business would drive even more jobs away...I agree health care ( Insurance needs fixed ) but not socialized like the U.K. or Canada...lets learn from their mistakes and not keep building big government that just will cost us dearly. In cost and Quality, its a little better than that now.

  • How would you fix the health care dilemma, without a public option?

Remember, we tried Bush's trillion dollar "senior prescription drug" debacle. So, do you have any ideas that might actually work? And cost less than 1 -- 1.6 trillion over TEN YEARS?

  • To Uwiluz60: the main goal of the Obamacare is to cover everybody in a fiscal responsible way, that is without increasing the national debt. But that is not the goal of our conservative leaders. These highly-functioning morons have joined the so-called "Blue Dog Democrats" to defend the interest of their friends and allies in the healthcare industry. This is pathetic and insane, to say the least!!!

  • bob..You know the government can't take the trash out without messing it up...Can you just think how screwed up this can get...Even if Obama is the ONE.he most likely will only be around 4 to 8 years and then you will rely on these people to look out for you in your old age...No thanks there's a much better way...Look at Social Security , that tells you all you need to know...your 1 year older than me and you will never see it either. But pay into it all your life...I really fell bad for our kids

  • The numbers say that Obama plans to cover 16 million, not everyone. And this for the handsome bargain of one trillion. Do the math, 62500 per person. Private insurance is the way to go

  • To Johnbourne72: if private insurance is the answer and private-run healthcare companies are efficient, why do we have an healthcare crisis now? I am not in favor of the public option, but there must be something DEEPLY wrong with the way these private companies have been running our healthcare system. It does not take a dsciple of Einstein to realize that, you bonehead!!!

  • What is wrong with private ins? I don't think there is a crisis at all. If you can't afford ins in a free market, sorry survival of the fittest at its best. The gov program offers coverage of 16M at a cost of one trillion, that is 62.5K per head. My Blue costs aroung 3K per year, can you see the difference or do I have to spell it out for you?

  • To johnbourne72: you don´t think there is an healthcare system crisis at all? So why on earth are all experts, news network and political parties talking about it? Why do all major polling companies (including rasmussen!!!) obsessed with this issue? Just for fun? Are you living in a cave without TV, newspapers and radio? JESUS!!!

  • To rally support and try to gather votes for a socialized program, it is politics. We have the best doctors and R&D for procedures / perscriptions. I get fully covered by a Blue for right around 4k per year, I really don't see that as unreasonable.

  • To johnbourne72: all major news network, medical experts, political parties and pollsters are talking about "healthcare crisis" only to rally support and try to gather votes for a socialized program? Based on this tortured logic, everything was fine in Irak from 2003 till 2007 and the political crisis in Iran is not real. They are all manufactured crisis made up by conservative/liberal leaders and the press. No doubt: you deserve the nobel prize of stupidity more than Limbaugh and Palin!!!

  • bobhardball

What is wrong with HC then? What is so terrible about our medicine that it drives many people from countries w/ socialized medicine here for care?

  • To johnbourne72: there is no doubt in my mind that you are living in a cave and not following the healthcare debate, ´cause nobody is disputing the fact that we have the best doctors and equipment in the world. The issue is that more than 40 million people are uninsured and these people has to be covered one way or another. If you can´t this basic fact right, then shut the fuck up, you pinehead!!!

  • Is there not a number of insurance institutions that they can buy insurance from "pinehead." Because I am pretty sure that there is, but I could be mistaken. For a catastrophic plan that rates are very cheap, 80-90 dollars per month.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong you clever dick of a name caller, but the talking points are either along the lines of boo hoo, its not affordable. Those people can get less comprehensive insurance, or here is an idea, catastrophic injury only. A man of your "tortured logic" has to see the irony of the same people trying to rid the world of the principle of survival of the fittest are also cramming evolution down our throats. If you cant afford ins, so sorry don't make me buy it for ur stupid ass tho

  • To johnbourne72: there is an healthcare crisis, ´cause more than 40 million people are not insured. I personally am happy with my private insurance. But 40 million uninsured American citizens? That is too much for my libertarian conscience!!! Had Bush done his homework and stopped spending $1 trillion of our hard-earned money for the islamic BASTARDS abroad, we wouldn´t be arguing with the liberals on this issue! Is that so hard to understand, you pinehead?

  • If people choose not to have insurance, that should't be on your concience. That is a choice that they make, not my problem. If your wee heart can't take it, donate to a charity, there are plenty that provide medical care to the lazy, pardon I mean those in need.

  • To Johnbourne72: fixing healthcare or reducing its costs is a matter of fiscal responsibility. But you can´t understand that, ´cause you are certainly one of my fellow conservatives who encouraged Bush to spend $1 trillion in rebuilding Iraq and providing the Iraqis with the kind of healthcare 40 million of our own citizens are dreaming of. With morons like, it is not surprising that the American people trust the liberals more than our conservative leaders to fix healthcare, you pinehead!!!

  • Hey "pinhead" How much have you actually looked at whats being proposed? He's not talking 40m, he's talking about 16M at a cost of 1 trillion. Do you have any Idea what that is per person for the first year? 62500. Since your math sucks, I will help you out. Does that sound affordable? Does that sound fiscally responsible? Thats what I thought. "With a moron like" its supprising you lived past the 3rd grade

  • To Johnbourne72: if you really think $16 million or $1 trillion are the final numbers, then you are either dumb or a natural born moron. Nobody knows how much it will cost. But all participants (healthcare experts, conservative and liberal leaders) agree that the solution has to be deficit-neutral. What is more fiscal responsible than that? Oh, I forgot: that´s too much for your small brain. Talking sense to an android like you is not an easy thing. Really!!!

  • 16 Million is the # of people, and it is actually higher then 1T, that was rounding to make things a little easier for you. It is looking more like 1.6, wow for someone whos arguing and calling me names you sure haven't done your research.

  • To Johnbourne72: of course I did my homework. The $ before the number 16 was a typo. But that is something you can´t understand. ´Cause you belong to the club of shrinking fellow conservatives, who get easily distracted by small things and voted for Bush only because "he was the guy they wanted to have a beer with". What a shame!!! Get focused on the issue or shut the fuck up, you bonehead!!!

  • Wow, was that supposed to be evidence to support your arguement? Here watch this link.

    /watch?v=zZ-6ebku3_E&feature=c hannel

  • To Johnbourne72: fixing healthcare is not a Democratic or Republican issue. It is an American issue. Every conservative leader and conservative-leaning think-tank I know and admire admit that, except you and other fellow conservative blowhards on radio and TV, who refuse to understand that we conservatives and libertarians would have won this debate, if the highly-functioning moron named Bush had done his homework and keep his promise of fiscal responsibility. Got that, you Dan Quayle, Jr.?

  • Wow you love to call people names, how childish. The govenment programs can't compete with private market on efficiency, it is a matter of elementary economics. The private market principles is what makes our HC the top notch that it is. You start throwing in a bunch more wasteful gov nonsense, you end up with higher taxes and lower quality care. Did you not pay attn in economics, what about history and whats going on in other countries w/ socialized med?

  • To Johnbourne72: how often to do you want Obama to say or repeat that "the bill has to be deficit-neutral" till you get it? Which part of this statement BHO made at least 3 times on national TV constitutes a challenge for your small brain? And how much do you really know about the European HC system? ´Cause I spent 6 years in the U.S. in Germany and know one or two things about HC system in Europe, you Spiro Agnew, Jr.!!!

  • Deficit nuetral, ha what a nice catch phrase to bring in small minded people. What about the tax consequence. Has to be paid for one way or another. The gov programs are not efficient. Look at the tax rate in these socialized med countries. And yes, they do infringe on the patented drugs made in the US. Look it up simpleton

  • To Johnbourne72: "deficit-neutral" is just a catch-phrase used by BHO to bring in small minded people? In other words: 72% of the American people in favor of healthcare reform are "small minded people"? This is the most unpatriotic and moronic statement I have ever heard from a fellow conservative about the people living in this country. Even a true liberal would think twice before making this kind of condescending statement about the American people. JESUS!!!

  • I made no such statement about the american people. Tell me that I contridict? You are a walking, talking, living, breathing Oxymoron, your page says your for leaning and yet you are argueing for socialization. The american people don't see the ramifications, plain and simple. We have become lazy if we think there is such thing as a free lunch. This lunch will cost the american people a fortune, and the ROI simply isn't there. The US needs no socialisation, it is against what we stand for

  • To Johnbourne72: how often am I supposed to tell you that I am not in favor of any public option till you get it? I really have the feeling now I am teaching sense to an android. BTW, if it is true that private insurers think they have the best products and nobody can compete with them, why are they so afraid of the public option? Can´t you see the contradiction here, you Sarah Palin, Jr.???

  • It is a matter of unfair competition!!! Don't you realize that the ins companies are alread regulated on the amount of profit that they can earn? If the actuaries mess up they have to return excess premiums. I take that Sarah Palin as a compliment, you talk about "leaning" You have no idea what your talking about!!! Adding to the gov zilla is not leaning, it is totally against anything that a real conservative would stand for, like for instance Reagan

  • To Johnbourne72: of course I realize that private insurers are over-regulated and don´t need more regulation. But these people betrayed us in 93-94 by saying that our HC system is just fine/doesn´t need any reform and increasing premiums. It is time they apologize to the American people for the misleading "Harry and Louise" ad and tell how they intend to reduce costs and cover the 40 million uninsured people. BTW, Palin is your role model? You don´t mean it, do you???

  • To Johnbourne72: you said "Deficit nuetral, ha what a nice catch phrase to bring in small minded people". 72% of the American people are for such a measure according to the latest NBC/WSJ poll on the issue. So based on your stupid logic, 72% of the American people in favor of deficit-neutral HC reform are small minded. But this analysis is certainly a HUGE challenge for your small brain, you bonehead!!!

  • Lets punish capatalism!!! That is a really poor idea.I think that Ins is competatively priced as it, there will be no leaning at all if the gov is involved. The larger an organization, the less efficient its operations. If we had more palin's, then california's senator wouldn't be billing us over 500k per month in her private air fair to and from DC.Palin is a leaner of government, and that is what we need. Gov has become an aristocracy, the pay is better then private jobs, its not sustainable

  • To Johnbourne72: if you think I belong to those who think we should punish capitalism, then you are either dumb or a moron!!! All I am saying is (and I hope you get it this time!!!): either the insurance companies apologize for their misleading "Harry and Louise" ad/come up with a solution to reduce costs and insure the 40 million uninsured Americans or face the (moral) consequences. There is nothing more logic, fair and patriotic than that. As for Palin, let´s talk about her in 2016, not now!!

  • You brought her up, not me. No I don't belive that you belong to that group, I actually think that we are more politically similiar then different. The free market makes insurance more affordable then Gov ever could. It would cost way more per capita if socialized. What is stopping those 40 mil from purchasing ins? It is affordable as it can be, competition does that. 80-90 dollars per month for a catastrophic plan isn't bad. the gov cant even get close to that number

  • To Johnbourne72: you are right. I mentioned Palin first. My bad. But I hope and pray that you understand that Palin is not ready for prime time as long as she spends most of her time taking on everyone who says something stupid about her or her family. Can we move now to the very interesting question you asked, which is: What is stopping 40 millions from purchasing health insurance?

  • Ya, I am just curious. I think that it is perfectly affordable and it is a matter of personal choice. If somone chooses not to purchase it, yes it is a risk that they are choosing to take. I thought the letterman comment was an accident, Im betting he thought that Palin was at the game w/ the older daughter, and it was a simple mistake

  • To Johnbourne72: people are not insured for a number of reasons. the most reliable/independent source on the issue is the National Coalition On Healthcare. Google "nchc facts coverage" and read the results of their latest study, and we´ll go from there. But the bottom line is this: if all conservative and liberal leaders get focused on the issue as much Gen. Patraeus on the surge, they will get it done in this summer without putting further burden on private insurers!!!

  • I read it, still don't think that everyone needs to be fully insured. People don't need to go to the hospital for minor injuries.Hell, one of my friends stitched me up last time I needed it, and I have insurance.I don't think that employers need to cover the cost of ins, as a matter of fact I think that was one of the problems with the UAW and what helped to cripple the domestic auto industry.I am self employed and I buy my own insurance.I used to have just catastrophic coverage till recently

  • To Johnbourne72: this Administration never said it wants all 300 millions American to be covered. All it wants is a) reduce the costs, b) give everybody a chance to get HC and c) put some pressure on private insurers to reach these goals. If i were the CEO of a private insurance company, I would see this as a real business opportunity (´cause 40 millions uninsured are potential customers!!!) and say no to the sound bites like "socialized medicine" or "government take-over". Get it?

  • I think that we are probably politacally aligned in a nuber of ways, I am a staunch conservative libertarian. I think Reagan would roll over in his grave if such a bill was put before him. I can hear him now, and he wouldn't use the kinder gentler "socialism" term, it would illicit a "C" bomb for sure. He'd say, "communism not on my watch, not in my back yard, that's for the Russians." Government has too heavy a hand as is, lets just add a couple more DOE's now since one isn't doing the job

  • To Johnbourne72: the best thing private insurers can do right now is cover all 40 million uninsured at discount price. They would make a lot of money and undermine any attempt by the liberals to introduce the so-called public option. But whining or lobbying the do-nothing-crowd currently in charge of the GOP and their allies at Foxnews and on radio is not an option, ´cause these lying liars just don´t have the vote no matter what they say!!!

  • To Johnbourne72: Reagan saw this coming and did his very best to reform the system. But none of our current conservative leaders told him the truth. They lied to him on behalf of their greedy friends on Wall-Street and in the HC industry. I still remember what late-senator Jesse Helms once told Reagan: "you need me and my friends to get the Christian-Conservative votes - never forget that". This is just pathetic!!!

  • Stick a fork in us anyway, were done. Pelosi managed to force the cap in trade bill through the house, the senate is chalked full of libs, there is no stopping it now. Grab for the handle and hang on for an even bigger and now dragged out recession anyways

  • Okay bob hardball, I'm gping to switch hit on you now, don't let the age deceive, I represent the back bone of America. I am self employed but there was a time that I employed 96 people building track homes as a framer out of sacramento ca. I was doing BEA's before I even knew what they were, I was 21 when I got my class B license. When I graduated from Sac state univ in finance, 08, I did a real Break even analysis and found that if I downsized, I could make more money after taxes

  • To Johnbourne72: I inherited a small shoe factory with 20 employees, after I served in the army and fought for my country in Iraq (Desert Storm). There are now 59 people working for me. We are all doing fine. But this is America. We always try to help the less fortunates to get a life and rely less on government money. That is not empathy, but the essence of the things the scripture tells us. The GOP seems to have forgotten that in the last 8 years. Pathetic!!!

  • Well then you know first hand what a higher tax liabilility will do to your bottom line. If the government wants to give those 40mil a check or purchase them insurance from the private market, I would support that far more then the creation of another worthless government program. In Ca, we have 240k state employees, they are now getting IOU's instead of pay check. This aristocracy is destroying our country. Gov jobs need to be low paying but good benifits as they once were.

  • Cont:

I cant get behind another Government program. When I was in college, there were only 3 students to every 1 person in an administrative position. The Department of education is a failure, just as every other program that is supposed to help. Something has to change, we cant afford the programs we have, let alone add more. This "go green" movement is also hurting our economy. Doesn't any one realize that 3rd world countries pollute way more then us?

  • I was making about 65K/yr, but by cuting down to 2 five man crew's I capped 125K. I bill my hrs @ 65, my lead crew Joe, foreman 40$/hr, Mark and Sergie 25$/hr and their 3 laborers make up my top one of 2 crews that I run. Granted I stepped from gross of 5.6M to about 2.5M My tax bracket has me making more, don't even get me started on workers comp. But if my taxes go up, I am a business man first and an employer second. I will fire my crew until I am making what I need to live on, bottom lin

  • If your bleading heart cant take people w/ out ins, I will send you my crews because they will lose their jobs as long as I can keep my business a float. Sorry man, those are the facts of life, and their are at least 250k americans that will do the exact same thing as I. I don't mind working 3 10 hr days and having the same take hm, longer wk ends for me, I will send my X employees to you to explain

  • no one cares about reagan. get over it.

  • Wow, a real intelligent response? Got a point to make?

  • do you? other than ooo reagan was so special and he made the country so greeeaaat. Ive heard it before, get with the present.

  • Look at the page of the person I was debating, he said he was a Reagan fan and I pointed out that Reagan would not support such policies. I should get with the present huh? The present has a man as commander and cheif of the military who has never served in it. As a matter of fact he has done nothing but be a community organizer and 2 yrs in the Senate. You should get with the present and get your head out of your a**.

  • oh no a community organizer! thats the worst person to organize a nationwide community oh no! we don't have a military man commanding the military except for every single 5-star general oh no!!!! What's that? Reagan's corpse has risen and is ready to lead the country again!! YAY!!!! The late 80's are back as well as crack and race riots yayyy!!!!!!

  • Do you think that bills for what essentially are tarrifs are going to do our economy any good? How about the taking over of private business? Are you all for this socialism crap that has failed in every other country that has it? The point is no experience whatsoever, no checks and ballances, and a socialist in the white house is not what this country needs. A president shouldn't be a former drug abuser, he couldnt be a cop but he can command a nation, the notion is idiotic

  • you're definitely not seeing the big picture here. If we don't reduce our carbon emissions NOW, within the next 100 years the temperature will rise probably around 2 degrees, which isn't much, but its enough to plunge the midwest into drought causing large famines. Basically worldwide starvation. And you are telling me, that because we are changing the face of the energy industry that its somehow going to collapse? oh srry, i forgot we still needed horses because cars kill the economy. get real.

  • Such a typical liberal, instead of trying to refute my points, change the subject into how were going to save the world by stopping global warming. There is very little evidence to even support our role in GW, or even that CO2 plays a role. The lab that was performed to show CO2 as a GH gas concentrated it in a 1800PPM environment and raised the overall temp by 1 degree C. To get to 1800 at current rates of increase, 5PPM/decade would take 600 yrs, and thats for a 1 degree change from CO2.

  • Theres a reason why Al Gores movie is called "An inconvenient truth" You, like creationists who deny the earth is millions of yrs old, just deny all the scientific evidence to support your point. There is a consensus in the scientific community that GW is real and CO2 lvls, which have been rising exponentially for the last 100 yrs, are directly related. Also, the amount of C02 is not linearly related to T, so claiming that just because it would take 600 yrs for the CO2 level to double means nada

  • Exponentially? To even see it on a graph its measured in PPM dip sh**. 5PPM per decade is not exponentially. Go my some carbon credits then retard, worship your idiotic Al Gore. There is so little GH effect from CO2, water vapor is much more significant in its GH effect, and its not double retard, the CO2 levels are upper 300s. We didn't start measureing concentration until the late 50s so don't pretend to know what it was before then.

  • lol we didnt start measuring CO2 levels till the 1950's? oh rly? Have you ever heard of an Antarctic ice core? WE HAVE A HISTORY OF THE CO2 on this planet for the last 100,000 years. FACEPALM.

  • It gets funnier by the post with you gw fanatics. Those Ice cores carried almost zero correlation to the tree rings that they said was significant. Its about the same correlation of farting in So Cal and measuring prevailing winds across the Sahara. Its rediculious

  • I love science, have an engineering degree. Have been doing chem and phys since you were in diapers. The science isn't there, the correlative values are not significant at all. Its not science, its Psuedo science. If I turned in a paper with the R2 value that these theories carry, it wouldn't even be considered. I have researched both sides for about a yr before I decided I couldn't get on board with the GW theories

  • Engineering? when does that have anything to do with being a climatologist? get real idiot, you're "credentials" are moot.

  • Oh, so your going to claim to be a climatologist. Follow the money trail, many climatologists that aren't working on fed monies do not support the CO2 theory. I can do some creative manipulation of numbers and graphing and cross correlate anything to the same degree as these "scientific" findings. That makes my credentials a lot better then yours

  • im not arguing MY credentials, im arguing the credentials of ACTUAL climatologists. You, however WERE arguing your credentials. That allows me to debunk them. And as far as your "money trail" theory, thats just complete bullshit.

  • Do you know how many billions the feds have thrown at these "scientists?" What about Al gores little foundation? I have done experiments, and been held to strict parameters, they throw all parameters out the door. With their acceptable tolerances I could "prove" anything that I wanted to.

  • Al gore is not a scientist. I am not particularly a fan of Al Gore, personally he annoys the shit out of me. THAT DOESNT CHANGE THE FACT THAT THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY AGREES THAT CLIMATE CHANGE IS REAL AND HAS BEEN CAUSED BY THE BURNING OF FOSSIL FUELS! HOW FUCKING STUPID ARE YOU!

  • The question is how stupid are you? Freaking lemming. Following blindly, inspect the evidence that they use, it is miniscule

  • there questioning the group, and then there is being willfully ignorant. you are the second.

  • Pay attn to the cricketplus's posting, and then see which one of us is in fact in that second group. You said I was like a "creationist fanatic" This global warmig crap has become its own religion, and that is what you fail to realize. Take any religion that I know much about, eg: christianity, judaism, Islam. And I could argue with the same if not more accuracy in the form of relized prophesies then the gw "scientists" have supporting their claims.

  • what you mean cricketplus' completely uncited and speculative statement? you're going to take an opinion over facts? also how can i be willfully ignorant if i have looked into the arguments for both sides? i just happen to side with the most intelligent people on the planet, you like to side with nitwits.

  • Its not a speculative statement at all. The exact same thing happened in the 70s and the wingnut, nitwit whackos that you are siding with said that we were headed for another Ice age. If you don't know about it then you've been under a rock. And I don't believe you have, either that or you don't understand that real science requires people to be somewhat accurate, not like the infor that you believe in.

  • thats not the part i was saying is speculative. I was drawing attention to the other thing he said "durhh i see more birds and fishes now". I wasnt alive in the 70's so i dont know about that, however i do know that the evidence is substantiate. Btw, "real" science only has to be accurate within a certain margin of error, and no, the entire scientific community did not make the margins too big. You're wrong, get over it.

  • The margins of error are adjusted for based on the amount of time that a scientist claims that they are going back, eg the Ice cores. The funny thing, they found an Ice core that had a very slight correlation to a tree ring, but they were in completely different regions. Then when they tried to repeat the results, unsuccessful. If you don't find that the slightest bit suspicious, then you are a lemming.

  • in the 70s they said we were headed for a new ice age maybe they are stupid but i am all for a cleaner planet i see more birds fish etc. now than in the 70s so that is good

  • Cont to Bob softball

If you want to say oh France has great HC, I am prepared. Don't you realize that other countries with soc med piggy back on US innovations, and the patented drugs that are made here? Wow, go hug a tree or something but stay the heck out of anything that is economic or financial in nature, your math doesn't add up. And your myopic thought process is not going to do anyone in this country or others for that matter any favors.

  • "fiscal responsibility" as Bush's fault? Are you kidding me? Bush didn't push Congress to pass a trillion dollar spending spree, not did he push for 1.5 trillion dollar government program. He DID spend hundreds of billions of dollars to do what any great power in history has done after such tragedy - assert predominance in the world. NOW, FOR HOW EXACTLY HE WENT ABOUT DOING THAT, -THAT- YOU CAN CALL, "UN-AMERICAN". (ie guantanamo, eavesdropping etc)

  • You are a paranoid fool. How is Obama infringing on your right to peacefully assemble?

  • Why do people want him to get all jazzed up about the whole Iran thing. Revolutions are messy. Let them do their thing. We don't need to police the world. Those were the Bush years. If you hate someone like Saddam or Ahmadinejad, take him out yourself; Don't send someone else's kids. We don't need to spend a trillion dollars because some Christians are in a war with some Muslims over which of them is more ridiculous.

  • "Why do people want him to get all jazzed up about the whole Iran thing. Revolutions are messy."

I think you just answered your own question. The PEANUT GALLERY, who want him to fail, are not currently in a position of responsibility, and have nothing to lose are hoping that if they call him "chicken" enough, he'll inject himself into it, and make a mess of it.

Fortunately, this is not George "Flick" Bush who'll stick his tongue to a frozen flagpole just because you tripple-dog-dared him to.

  • It is nice to have a President with a brain again.

  • NO, actually Dr. King said: "When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows. Let us realize the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice."

  • "NO"? You're saying that's not from MLK? Have you read MLK's letter from a Birmingham Jail?

MLK was against the notion that time is a force for change -- that we should believe that time will inevitably bring about justice. The quotation "the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends toward justice" is a reassurance of faith, not a hope in the inevitability of justice.

  • I did not negate King saying anything. And frankly I fail to understand what the hell your point is. The reference to time is evident in the quote. Yes it is about faith but it also attempts to reassure that the limits of human perception do not limit the ability of time to reestablish justice. You pulled some other quote out that Obama did not use and then label it his "actual" words. Makes no sense. What is your argument??

  • There's no argument, per se. I'm just saying there is a tension between the words of MLK between hope for justice and waiting for justice. I think this is a general tension that has a philosophical root as opposed to being a fault of Obama or MLK. Indeed, I support Obama's prudence on this matter.

  • Mavaddat, I think you're referring to a different speech. I'm pretty sure the statement about the arc of the moral universe was made at Riverside Church in 1966 or 1967. . .

  • Thanks, ddupshaw. As I said above, my purpose was only to point out a tension in the quotations from Dr. King.

  • another great cut of reality
