  • one of the the people i respect enough to buy a cd from instead of just download a song here and there, he inspires me to never stop playing.

  • He and Dax Riggs should team up, they could probably write some horribly epic music together.

  • This guy is RIDICULOUS. Best show I ever saw was Tea Party in Montreal. Unbelievable.

  • Superbness!!!

  • What album is this song on?

  • @Hillbilly616 Edges of the Twilight bro

  • fantastic, just fantastic!!!!!

  • hes living in Mandurah now , where his wife is from . you can go to the local pub and see him .

    he is a ledgend .

  • holy shit, whose this? First time I'm listening to this guy he blew my balls away for good, gotta download somethings quick! OMFG

  • @educassiano Welcome!! I recommend the Edges of Twilight album as a great way to start getting to know Jeff Martin. It will blow you away!

  • This brilliant man has influenced more of my musical path than any one else from Metallica to Steve Via. My aim in life is to once day write a song this good, (never happen) even if no once else ever hears it. Jeff's musical knowledge continues to astound and inspire me. Tour more man. (in Australia) you speak so deep to so many of us.

  • Who knows what kind of brand 12 string guitar is Jeff Martin playing ?

  • @MrJeroen71 ,

I saw Jeff Play this weekend and he played Maton guitars

  • People don't realise enough the importance of Jeff's music (solo or with The Tea Party)... they made music just as good as Led Zeppelin people... greetings Jeff... you're the best.

  • @valentin80 I agree that Jeff's one of those musicians you find once in a generation, but can we please not get ahead of ourselves and place him on the same shelf as Led Zeppelin, the greatest most versatile rock band of all time?

  • @Veraudunus Why not ?... I'm so happy when I see there is a man like Jeff with such a great vision... for me The Tea Party is on the same level with Led... I know what I say... even Page is a fan.

  • pure stellar genius and inspiration.

this is what music always should be...!

  • this man deserves more attentiion. tea party needs to come back. saw them 3 time and each time they kicked ass

  • seen him last nite and he is still awsome... ripped it up

  • Jeff Martin solo, with The Armada or even The Tea Party is really an insider tip here in germany. I'm just 19 years old and saw him first solo on tour as support of In Extremo 2 years ago. From the first note on I thought "Maaaaan, why don't you know this genious?!?!!" What I want to say is that I still can't believe why Jeff Martin is still an "Insider Tip". When I see what attention is paid to Star Search or Crap like that everyday I thinks this world has fallen sooo deep :D

  • @simdrums Perfectly said mate.

  • @simdrums Dude im fourteen and Jeff is my god (if page dies) he is the best contemporary guitarist until hes dead. FANTASTIC!!!

    !

  • this song is great!! by the way jeff martin didnt leave the tea party he broke up the band and it was cause he didnt want sell out on commercial songs that the rest of the band wanted so he decided to start a small acoustic project which is not this video..this the early days of the jeff martin and the armada

  • In my earlier comment I gave the tuning but after listening maybe 30 seconds. Now, I can tell you it is DADFAE which is pretty unusual but try it. You'll see....

  • thanks, helped heaps

  • Great! - I was there :)

  • I love this song... thanks for sharing! ... I don't listen to your music much anymore but I do check out what you are creating from time to time... I hope you continue to find inspiration and growth... I wish you happy adventures!

  • Jeff Martin left The Tea Party because he had a kid with his wife, and needed to get away from all the drugs and "rock & roll lifestlye". They moved to Ireland to start a new life.

  • So much wasted talent... Tea Party could easily have been one of the best, most respected institutions in Canadian music. I don't know what asshole decided they should be a goth band, but wow... so much wasted talent trying to sell albums to high school girls.

  • I kinda agree with you, man. Their first two albums were great and then it started to go downhill.

  • Did you track down this footage just to be a pretentious arsehole or did it just fall into your daily course of being an over opinionated dick?

  • I get a feeling Jeff is going to come back in a big way some day soon.

  • very cool a little reminicent of jim morrison but i dug it thanks

  • @k8V1000 well look at him now!!! :D

  • He sang better in racer x.

  • different jeff martin i believe, but both good

  • BIG FAN HERE!!!!! and ALL of my respect!!!!! Everywhere I go, the Tea Party, and Jeff Martin come with me!

  • anyone that says he sounds like dave should get there skull kicked in.

  • It's probably on the verge of an implosion anyway because it must be empty...

  • O....K.....Wow...very gifted...I know he takes some flack for his vocals being similar to Dave Mathews but I see very little merit in those complaints.

  • The people who say Jeff sounds like Dave have hearing problems.

  • "The people who say Jeff sounds like Dave have hearing problems"

And several other issues I am willing to bet money on...Hell as far as im concerned people who dont like Black Sabbath are mentally retarded or pathilogical liars...LOL

  • He sounds very similar u fucking goose

  • AHAHAHHA. You called him a goose, LMFAO. Idiot.

  • Lol, was like calling him a gay cunt, but just in a more subtle way

  • Douchebag, you obviously haven't heard Dave or Jeff... Dave has said himself he tries to sound like a chimpmunk and well Jeff doesn't sound anything like that.

  • Yarr!

    pirates are cool these days

  • Drop D ?? Absolutely wrong. He just gives it to you right in yr face.Just listen to the very first seconds. From lower to higher string, D-A-D-F-A-D (open D minor ),it's sad that I don't have a cam. I listen 30 secs and I could show it to you anytime. Could also give you show you Messanger and Heaven comin down. Work your ears guys. Good luck!!!

  • Anybody know what tuning he is using here?

  • Drop D. All the tabs on the web are wrong though.

  • saw the lads play in brisbane at festivle hall a few yrs ago fuckin awsome lifted the roof two ancores 2hr show ..

  • the opening and closing riff remind me of john buttler. very nice!

  • i saw jeff and the band play in 1993... blew me away. he is amazing... his skill is unparalleled. he is easily the "ben harper/eddie vedder of canada."

  • Here you have it: the reason why there´s so much crappy music on radio and TV - this man has got all the talent & soul.

    Just blame Canada !

  • jeff martin #1!!!!!

  • he shares love through music and knows how to. it makes me cry :-) have a wonderful time and happy birthdays! prob be one of the better ones :-)

  • I was there, fantastic concert.Jeff Martin is for me one

of the best rocksingers and also Chris Cornell.

  • very talented, very skilled, very attractive, very soulful. what else is there to say..

  • suzanne,

I agree 100% he has the package. Down to earth, talented, ridiculously attractive and he gets into his music.

I like that in a performer.

  • :-) well said. I just watched the stream of the hamburg concert on their website on which he proves that once again. besides that, on sep 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21 he's playing oz, so you're lucky!

  • I know!!! me and my lovely boyfriend are off to see him at the Evelyn Hotel on the 19th of September. It's our birthdays a few days before then so I think it's a good celebration! :D Soooo excited!

I think in some ways as well, he has grown as a musician; yes he might still play TTP songs whilst being solo, but they are sentimental to him I am sure and it is what made us start loving his stuff in the first place ;)

  • Awesome!XO

  • BRAVO JEFF

  • Amazing Jeff. Remember the first time I heard this song in 1995. Shivers down my spine and 13 years later you take it to another level.

  • Jeff's fantastic as he's always been, but Tea Party songs just aren't as powerful without The Tea Party. I don't see why he would want to break up the band pretty much just to play TTP songs unplugged at small clubs with musicians that aren't of JB and SC's calibre. Seems his non TTP songs just aren't cutting it. I hope he's happy, but I say he's selling himself short without The Tea Party.

  • While I agree 100%... I guess there are other things in play, it's not just that he wanted to do "different" music (obviously)

    God I miss TTP...

  • I'm sure there's more to it, but that's basically all he's doing now. Seems a waste to me.

  • cool coming home one of my favourites!

  • So very awesome....eternally one of my all time favorite musicians....

    Calgary....please come to Calgary

    Ty

  • 5 stars for one of the best musicians out there... When I heard in the 90's your albums Jeff I was floored. Keep on composing great songs... do what your soul wants. You're unique.
