the latitude part, yes i'll go with that...but then using that argument, any point on the earth of the same latitude qualifies as well, as longitude at 0 degrees near london was arbitrarily defined, and has no real significance other than that, i could just as easily "shift" the map of the world 45 degrees either way, and then put the "golden point" in the middle of the atlantic...

Well, the main reason actually, if you are not narrow-minded, is to show that the same numbers prove that there is one God. Everything is from Him. There is nothing wrong with other numbers, but one has to choose to signify who you are. like your number is 1583. what's wrong with other numbers that you had to pick that?

Mecca is within 1 degree of the correct latitude but 3 degrees off longitude. Honolulu and Cancun are on the same latitude as well.
