But either ways, if Si-Jo really means Creator/ founder, Prof. Leung Ting IS the founder of Leung Ting Wing TSun. The system, not the style. The moves in Wing Chun are meant to be applied based on tactile reflexes. Obviously, this differs from person to person and overtime the style will evolve. But it doesn't change the fact that we originate from the same root and share very similar concepts.

the idea of this training exercise is to develop certain skills that increase ones ability to deal with unexpected attacks in a bare-knuckle environment. The thought is that if you can hit their chest at the center of the body, it takes a comparable amount of time to hit nearby targets like the face. The general targeting exercise should be practiced in gor sau and free sparring.

The chest is a large area with a lot of muscle that can dissapate the force of a blow, therefore hitting in the chest will only annoy the attacker and create a bigger issue as opposed to a blow to the eye, neck, or ears. If you are not fast or accurate enough to connect with those areas I suggest to pack it in rather than risk R n R (rehab n regets)

The wt hits go through the center line and to the throat in a real situation. Also, these punches do not pull backwards, the rotation of the shoulder angles the elbow in such a way that you are changing the trajectory with out actually using the bicep to pull back which would put the brakes on your punch. Also, this is CHI SAO and not fighting. It's a resource for training a muslce memory response to a given force. Fighting is trained with pads and head gear.
