This seemed like really boring gameplay. I mean, I'm sure some of that has to do with it being a very early version (though more complete than many other beta levels), I'm glad this idea was scrapped in favor of something more like Route Kanal.

you have to load the maps from the console

use the tilde key ~` and type in "maps *" without quotes and hit enter. the you will see a list of maps and when you see one you want to play just type map {map name here} and that will work.

@hl202 Why is it so complete and sort of bugfree? Mine - especially the final canal helicopter chase - is totally buggy and missing textures. Do you have some kind of fix package or have you installed the WC mappack? Which beta do you have? Thanks for answers :)

When I launch the HL2 beta, the models are weird and seems to be in "pieces", also, the eyes is in wireframe, not like they are supposed to be. It happens in both Anon and Russian, what is the problem?

Your computer might not have the required specs for running HL2. I believe that the HL" Beta's specs are less than the Retail version's.

My computer is well beyond the requirements for Half-Life 2, as I can run most settings on high. I've heard it's kinda more of a DirectX problem, but I don't really know.

the reason why its crap is because in hl2 beta, when they used goldsrc, the dx was at 6. now we have dx9 on most computers. If you can figure out how to fix that, then your graphics will go up. :D

I'm pretty sure the reason the Hunter-Chopper is more of an Apache is because in the original HL2 storyline, the Combine are using Earth technology, rather than their own.
