I used to be one of those uppity people who snuffed off NASCAR and all other forms of oval racing as boring ... then I raced on an oval myself, and I realized that oval racing is some of the most intense, demanding, and most importantly dependent on strategy and consistency of many forms of motorsport - you have to have perfect line all the time, and the rapport between drivers is so close it can make or break a win. I have gained a massive respect for these drivers

So there wasn't a side-by-side finish (hell, some of the races show in this video didn't have side-by-side finishes either!)

Still to this day I think Kahne should of won the 2006 UAW 500 @ Dega, he passed Vickers right as they threw the yellow.. In which a yellow that had no right to be thrown. If they would have let them race back as they should have Kasey would have won, and it would of been a better finish IMO.
you know i think Nascar Sides with certain drivers, The Pack could have missed Jr. and Johnson Yet they trow the caution, in other races the big one could happen entering the tri-oval and they keep it green.
All of these finishes are excellent! A tribute to history with the best Daytona finishes. The better ones are when I did not have cable or sattelite tv? Shucks!
My personal tops: 1999 Goody's 500 Dale spins out Terry Labonte. All nascar there rubbin' is racing! 2000 Cracker Barrel 500s finish and 2001s Cracker Barrel 500 Kevin Harvick wins in Dale Earnhardt's car! Oh and the Dodge Dealers 400 was worth every penny scratch and fender bender on the cars!

Dale Earnhardt Sr. WAS the best nascar driver ever!!! When Richard Petty was racing there wasn't as much talent on the track as there is now. With petty there was david pearson, Jr. johnson and DW. Jeff gordon is a good driver, BUT only when his car is good. Dale SR. could drive any car in any Condition. It didn't matter how loose or tight his car was. And if He had a good car, you better get the hell out of his way!!

That's racin. Earnhardt tried to do the old bump-and-run and it failed. Earnhardt isn't the only driver to have ever spun out another, but people seem to forget that....

And yes, the 98 Daytona 500 DID have an action packed finish. Have you ever actually SEEN it? 10+ car race to the white/yellow, which was the end, since back then there was no green/white/checkered finish. You had Dale, Bobby Labonte, Jeremy Mayfield, Rusty Wallace, and so on racing back to the line for the win. So there wasn't a side-by-side finish (hell, some of the races show in this video didn't have side-by-side finishes either!)

Still to this day I think Kahne should of won the 2006 UAW 500 @ Dega, he passed Vickers right as they threw the yellow.. In which a yellow that had no right to be thrown. If they would have let them race back as they should have Kasey would have won, and it would of been a better finish IMO.

All of these finishes are excellent! A tribute to history with the best Daytona finishes. The better ones are when I did not have cable or sattelite tv? Shucks!
My personal tops: 1999 Goody's 500 Dale spins out Terry Labonte. All nascar there rubbin' is racing! 2000 Cracker Barrel 500s finish and 2001s Cracker Barrel 500 Kevin Harvick wins in Dale Earnhardt's car! Oh and the Dodge Dealers 400 was worth every penny scratch and fender bender on the cars!

Awesome video.... there are aybe 3 races missing though.... The 2001 Talleega 500 ( bobby Labante flips as they go 4 wide through turn 2), and there's a brickyard 400 where Bill elliot wins in a pass made i the last 10 laps.. Also the time Steward wo the Brickyard400 in a pass within the last 30 laps
