@TouchMeTherePlease You obviously don't know what you're talking about.I could give you like 10 reasons why they were exactly the opposite, but I can't be arshed to argue with you.In fact yes, they had a "dark part" which kept us going, but man,I remember kids playing outside and beeing happy, not depending on their internet connection to have a good time...
@Deamzor7 Pick a decade with more depressing music. Pretty sure kids where inside playing there snes, 64 and playstation more than they were outside in the 90s.
@TouchMeTherePlease Dude,if you think that 90's music was depressing, you are obviously looking in the wrong place.90's is the era where eurodance and techno flourished, resulting in pop, house and trance as we know it today.I have to agree with you on the part that you said that depressing music was produced back then. But music is all about emotions and when feeling depressed you need to express your self somehow. There was a big variety of music back then, now it's all about pop and stuff.
@Deamzor7 That is basically like saying "If you think you are going to find violence in WW2, your obviously looking in the wrong place. WW2 was an era where places like Sweden, Switzerland and Portugal had all kinds of peace."
@lolsillymadchristian I don't really know where you're from, but this stuff was popular in Europe back then. The fact that some douches made fun of people enjoying different types of music isn't really mature,is it?Anyway, you made your point and since I can't be arshed to argue with you,i'll just respect your opinion.Have a nice day
@sithzerikai Mourning Orbit(his second solo album) is the one that most resembles antything done by Moist. It's also, IMO, his best solo effort with songs like Black Black Heart and Alone in the Universe.
@sithzerikai They will probably never tour again. David Usher has a solo career. Last time I saw them was '99, just before his second solo album came out.
@sithzerikai His first solo album is really good. He made it a couple of years before Moist broke up. It's called Little Songs, and I'd recommend it to anyone. The rest get worse and worse chronologically until he's basically a Pop Tart.
@KrazyZophie ooof the tea party was epic my brother met them in person and got autographs and junk and i remember hating how he'd blast their music so goddam loud in my house back then, and now as i re-investigate the 90's (i was born in '89) i realize why.
I remember in Edmonton "Moist" , "Bush" and "Hole" were just 3 of the bands coming to "Rockfest" I never went to it, but I always got Horny listening to the radio ad for it.
I managed to find the "Machine Punch Through" 2-disc greatest hits album at a pawn shop for $4, great find! It has all the singles, plus a second disc of unreleased tracks, and 3 new/rare tracks.
music today is pure rubbish, all over, all the time, its not about the music of course, 2days youth r blinded by the media, they dont go 2 concerts 4 good music, they go for the social event & buy the album to associate with the social event...dont blame the youth, its not their fault. "We" who grew up in different times were merely fortunate 2b subjected 2 a PROPER understanding of music and art, where as kids 2day have not.. feel bad for todays youth & lay blame on those responsible.
my roommate amy why not shaves her ass to this song and she dances all night long with her shaved ass then she goes to Reflections and gives head for fifty cents
the only genre's that are still loyal to lyrical value in the 2000's have been metal/hard rock. hard rock is going extinct too fast for my liking. music is bleeding out with synthetic music and media glimmer. Imo synthetic music is techno and house where you input beats form a keyboard without getting in touch with the instrument but rather a clever facsimile. it loses a lot of emotion and intensity like the way we got blessed with moist.
amen to that, today's music does not have any lyrical value to it, music in the 90's had alot of meaning to it, just something about it thats why I stick with the older stuff.
Wow... People are referencing it as an 'era in music' and it's own decade. I feel old! -_- Anyways, the singer is David Usher, so first try finding some of his work. Hmmm... Our Lady Peac, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Tragically Hip, Depeche Mode (if you like rock and alternative now, you will probably recognize a few songs, lol), Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Moist, Sloan, I Mother Earth, Matthew Good Band... LOTS of other good stuff came out in the 90's. And I really do feel old >_>
Try PAW, CANDLEBOX, ALICE IN CHAINS, STABBING WESTWARD and FOR LOVE NOT LISA.
I lived all this "era" and, come on, this is way better than the "we have to look very beautiful and perfect" on the videos "era"! I hope something as raw and honest enter in the music spectrum again!
Agreed this was a part of a collective of music that makes my heart soar and is sadly missed. How some of the garbage that got airplay got in and this fell through I simply can not understand. Amazing band.
@brownielilsis ooh I totally agree! Thar decade was incredible! What good music came out of the 2000's, besides Coldplay? None. Everything is just the same American ghetto shit
Yes! Dont forget Matthew Good Band. I loved the jokes between the members of MGB and Moist during Edgefest 99.
