  • this is kind of a 2 edge sword, on one hand it looks like it'd work on a big strong guy because of the amount of pressure you put on the arm, but i think if you mess it up they could take your back pretty easy

  • This is Catch Wrestling. For Maximum efficiency, go for the Kimura first from cross side. If he defends, go for the bicep crush (compression lock) from cross side. If he defends that, do the sit out like in this video and go for the bicep crush (compression lock) from that position. If he defends that, go for the the shoulder lock finish from that same position (the finish in this video).

  • man - that looks like it hurts. You can tell at 2:04 when he lowers his shoulder to the mat, the guy almost tapped right there! You know that's tight.

Ari Bolden, you're the man! You've taught me more about jiu jitsu than any instructor I've had.

  • youd have to do that pretty quick though because as soon as you put that first arm under and grabed his wrist hed think you were going for an armbar or a kamira

  • could also go into a biceps crush variation if your a nasty bugger...

  • i like this move i'll try it as soon as i can get to the gym

  • how come nobody uses this in mma matches?

  • Can anyone tell me why you wouldn't just go for the kimura if you already got it locked in?

  • @easy18big You can use it when opponent grab own shirt , gi or even other hand to defend kimura.

  • won my state championship with one of these

  • Many people know that Americanas are a very popular attack from Side controll, There easy to pull off, when i feel u trying to pin my hand in the upward position for a Americana, i will stop it, As were a Kimura from side controll isnt as popular, because its more difficult to do. but from what i see once you lock this in and begin the Scissor steps, its a done deal. i would see having a huge success rating. Thanks SUB101 guys, your the best!

    10th Planet Blue Belt!

  • good move. side control improve my ground game.s my favorite position to attack from. So this move will be perfect.

  • Thanks that's an amazing submission!!!!!

  • @Elmatador525 i agree

  • wouldn't it be more effective and faster if you just did a paintbrush...or a reverse kimura

  • @monster3031xx my comment above about the americana is directed twords you :]

  • thanks man you guys give me new ideas

  • awesome! thanks!

  • The Details of Jiu Jitsu are what make a good move, into a great move.

  • thats money, ari

  • I love this, very easy to do & well explained-osu!!

  • Theres also a sweet bicep cutter from there too!

  • thats pretty dope!! thx!!

  • sooo sick

  • the is awesome when in gi the guy grabs his belt to defend the normal kimura. this will still work!

  • Quick questions, I haven't used this move in practice so sorry for my ignorance, but what if when you cross over with scissor, the guy roll with you... wouldn't he be able to get out of it?

  • give em some SAS. jones em up!

  • me n a friend of mine used to watch these videos while training and learn new stuff. then he moved to kansas... sad

  • Thanks submissions 101 I'm going to work this into a combination

  • I actually learned this in my very first bjj class. It's a good move

  • great moves from u guys and great sport! I'm 28 and i wish to train this but i have no spare time. But for sure i'm gonna reccomend it to my son when he grown up. Great respect and greetings from Croatia! Sorry for my bad english :-)

  • nasty... i like it. But i will do it with caution.

  • More Mooky please!!! Mooky, Mooky, Mooky!!!!!!

  • I reeeeally like this. Will play soon.

  • This looks like a really good move.

  • I'm pretty sure Nogueira created this? Am I right? But still lots of credit to u guys for changing my game!!! BIG TIME

  • Not sure who invented this. I learned this off a Catch Wrestler a few years back. If Nog does it, that is great! We are all here to learn from one another!

  • @Submissions101 no he didnt create it. i learned this at a seminar from a "pure" Brazillian, he said it's in Judo

  • @JSPUFC , I think he created it, but I'm not sure. However, he does use it with much success. He even shows this one in his instructional dvd. I've studied Nogueira's guard system, and in my opinion, it is probably the most effective no-gi guard system outside of the rubber guard / double bagger.

  • holy shit ari bolden! long time no sight in vids... congrats on the wedding, and welcome back to the YT world, nice mats are they new?

  • thanks Brett ;-) yep, new mats from our sponsor at bushido...pretty cool!

  • ARI .... congrats on wedding ....... missed you ..... so good to see you again here.... amazing teacher ..... thanks

  • really nice !!!

  • cool

  • Hmm i actually saw this move on youtube before, i think Lil or Big Nog did it .

This a great way to get the kimura if your opponent has more power !

  • Ari this is SWEET! 5 Stars brother!

  • were did the sink go

  • This is going to be an awesome addition to my game!

Thanks so much for the video.

  • OMG! That was awesome!

  • this is also a forarm slyce from the cross body, you just slyce the blade of your left forarm across his forarm while sqeezing as tight as you can, kinda like a saw

  • Nice! :D

  • cool move ari

  • Why can't he roll left to escape a few times during this, with no control really around his mid to lower, and esp when you're transitioning, it seems this is a high risk move? no?

  • Nice to see you again. Its been a while ;)

  • Good video as always Ari, although I haven't tried it yet it looks like it would transition really well into a straight arm-bar.

  • oh i gotta try this next time at training, i love moves from sideguard and im quite good at getting the sideguard :D

  • Good demonstration. Definately a kimura with more leverage.

  • this one is sooo sick!

  • the body weight on against the arm is great. i really love this youtube station.

  • can anyone give me a list of all jujitsu submissions you can use on H.S wrestling

  • @dankill16 you can go for an arm triangle but you can't really try and choke him out. the sambo leg lock can be used if you pin the shoulders down when you lean

  • thank you. well i do something close to an arm triangle and it seems to work amazing but the sambo leg lock is pretty hard to do cause in wrestling ur hardly ever in full mount we prefer the side control

  • idk. my friend got DQ'd for an americana. the only one i've seen used without getting flagged or DQ'd is the gator roll ( D'arce variation).

  • none of them, high school wrestling is about establishing dominant positions, big takedowns and ultimately pinning your opponent. Although bjj does focus on dominating your opponent, and to a certain extent take downs, pinning is not really important, submissions are considered the ultimate form of dominance. If you want to submit people go join your local bjj school, you won't be able to submit people in high school wrestling.

  • yeah fucking suck. ive been studying thse videos too.

  • when i asked that question i did not mean to make them tap out because as you know we dont make each other tap out. what i meant is moves like the anaconda chock that by using a submission makes them not fight back as hard, making it easier for you to pin.

  • Ok, I understand your question now...but I still don't think there is an applicable use of submission holds (regardless of whether you finish them or even try to), because they are illegal in a wrestling match. If you were holding a choke, even with the intention of pinning rather than submitting, then you would probably be DQ'd.

  • YouTube has a video of Nogueira teaching this too.

  • totally loving this one. Thanks for the new vid.

  • awesome

  • nice

  • why would you go thru the problems of getting this, instead of just going for a simple keylock.

  • @RedOnChrome simple keylock = simple to read

  • @HardymarkTheKid key lock is easier to avoid then a kimura and this is one of the easiest forms iv seen of the kimura and iv wrestled for about 12 years now

  • this is just more options the more things u know the better your game will be

  • This REALLY is not a difficult submission to get. Very high percentage in fact.

  • Oh, yeah, cool. Minotauro has a video demonstrating this, too.

  • how practical is this? i havent seen this move in mma so far...

  • @Uragan BTW this is BJJ not MMA mate

  • ya buddy sik
