@Superegio42 at most levels (especially the one they are at) most of the players should not have to look at the director the entire time to get the tempo. The should one be able to internalize it from the start and two the percussion section should be setting a clear rhythm everyone can feel. On transitions from one tempo to another they would get more focus.
