It would take a lot more than what's in a scope to have any affect on you in causing cancer. Tritium is fairly common in commercial products like wrist watches so its pretty safe in the quantities they use. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being exposed to it from a scope or anything anyways.

@PcJaiden828 You might have found out the answer already but in case you haven't; An AR15 is essentially the civilians model of an M4 Carbine. The M4 being single shot and three round burst and M4A1 being single/auto, the AR15 is ONLY semi automatic. The barrel notch is not specific to any type of AR15/M4. I have a barrel notch on my AR15. The barrel notch is for the type of 203 you put on it. It's there in case the only 203 available is barrel mounted instead of rail mounted.

I just got my ACOG TA31F in today, havent shot yet but just lookin through it and everything im already in love, worth every bit of the 1300 i spent for it... well.... ya its a bit pricey but im glad i did it.

You can totally justify it. 2 AR's both with iron sights or 1 with an acog... you can only shoot one at a time and the acog greatly increases an average shooters ability to be precise at greater than 50m.

Sometimes you have to spend more money on the scope than on the gun if you really want a good optic. Bought a 900 bucks scope for a 300 bucks rifle... But the scope is fantastic, never saw a clrearer and brighter picture than this.

Because quality glass is just as important as the rifle it's mounted on. It's better to have a single rifle that is squared away, than a bunch of rifles with cheap junk attached to them.

There's a reason every serious shooter is running quality glass on top of their AR's. The scopes are bright, will always hold zero, and are literally battle tested. You can bet your life of them. Also, you an illuminated reticle and don't have to worry about batteries.

@opmike343 I have a great rifle with cheap glass on it with an eotech. I use Daniel defense cold hammer barrel, i have an eotech exps3 but then i use a 10x aimsport chinese scope as amy magnifier. I don't even use the cross hairs. just he eotech dots and its like reflex long range because as you zoom the eotech dots stay in relationship to each other. Very unconventional but its works great. i do like acogs but 4x just enough for 100 yard bench shooting.

I walked in to the the Bay Area gun vault and bought the TA-31 RCO with the chevron. My half in groups have opened up to about the size of 3 inch pie at 100 hundred. I think with some training i could hone it in. I moved my eotech to my short barreled pistol ar. threw the cheap scope in my field bag as a spotting scope. It only hurts the wallet once, but I love it. Thanks

That's how I sold several, by letting people use mine... trick is to get it sighted in the size of a dime with slow slow trigger control pulls... at 25 or 33 or 50 Yards... I get it into a tight group and then even tightened it a tad more by boresighting it.., should of done that first, would not have spent so much ammo on it as sight was WAY in space and no where near paper.

@marktse Funny thing was, a dealer where I wanted to buy an ACOG, told me first to try his ALTernative, finally after an hour I bought the cheap version, he said he'd apply the money to an ACOG if I was interested. That cheap scope could not hold a sighting... The ACOG, as long as trigger control is good, is the same over and over again. I can even tell the difference between Steel penetrator vs standard ball - not a lot but the target does not lie.

@ChristianArmorOfGod i like the larger apature reflex from trijicon but the small one is useless. the RMR and doctor are awesome but for the cost and already dropping 1300 on the scope I rather rather have a bushnell trs 25 to save money. 80 dollars can hold zero can get handle 30-06 and shotguns and have it mounted on a 45 degree pictinny. It has 3000 hours at level 7 of 11 at level 2 i've left it on for a over a year.

@marktse ONly thing is you got to make sure the screws are TIGHT, as if you shoot 1000 rounds in a day it can vibrate loose, just firm and tight without too tight. I had right after first sight in, went back and did 1000 n one day, and at the end of the day, it vibrated loose and bounced and hit the concrete... we were given the two minute warning, and I re-attached it... fired 20 rounds on my other target @ 100 yards and nailed it. This ACOG is a WORK-horse... gotta love that, very dependable.

@TheAKmatics for an ar? The drop markings are for 7.62 x 54 and 39 russian rounds and its still 500 dollars on kalinka optics. The chinese knock off of the russian scope is decent. Still acogs are for ars. they use tritium illumination. The edges and glass quality is higher and crisper and the drop is for 5.56. Get a used acog around 800 and its worth it to the PSO which is 50 years old in design and battery use. I understand the KISS factor for my ak and saiga-nov but its ugly on an ar

If you don't know what an ACOG is, stop saying it's not an ACOG. They don't look like they do in Call of Duty. That's clearly a TA-31F, I've used them before. And yes, there are two basic types (of 4X anyway), the TA01's are black in daytime (dim red at night) and TA31's which are bright red in daylight via a fiber optic rod and tritium combo. Anyone whom disagrees with this, is hereby stupid. Continue playing your video games.
