Are you located in Canada. If you are, How hard is it to buy a motorcycle for someone from the US. Could you tell me the pro's & con's of doing that. I also read there are a few bikes available to you, That we can not get in the US right now. I think you would help a few people with this response. Thank's in advance, yl
@SuperAirsoftman123 Depending on what part of FL your going ,it only stays cold for like a few days at a time. The more south you go the warmer it is. So bike tend to sell higher all year round. I am from there and know a bit. Your better off in buying in a state that has longer cold winters & snow.lol
@ilikepie5720 That's a long ride from FL for sure. lol --- I would say you could get a good deal at home. What is your riding season there. It's about 7 months in the TN /NC area, and it depends on the weather, as you well know. Take care, yl
@ylism it's about the same for dirt riders, as well as the brave road riders. we get 5 months of decent weather for the meat of our season, the first and latter part of the seasons can be absolute hell though, bikes have issues starting at 40 degrees, as well as the wet conditions. I also ride dirt, so my season is longer than most road riders, i'd put them a 5 months, 6 tops for the average rider, provided we have a decent april, still 40 something degrees in the morning commute lol. ride safe
@ilikepie5720 Your right, the cold can be hard on bikes, and people who ride them. lol At lest your more app to have protection on while riding. Or more protection / Coats. I have to wear two jacket already. That's only for the mid 50'thys. But it has been below freezing a few times. Not bad yet, Except for the rain. Take care & ride safe, yl
@ylism i'm at a long sleeve and riding jacket with a thermal liner for road, and maybe under armor under my jersey for mx. mx definitely keeps you warmer, lol, i have steam coming out of my helmet and sweat rolling off my face for a 20 min moto. but even when it was 90 something i had full gear on, rather sweat than bleed. But you're right, colder temps make gear much more appealing.
@ilikepie5720 Our summer was over 105 for days. Thought I would cook. While other people would be wearing T shirts and short paints, and flip flops, On S sport bikes. Now that is just crazy. But most do wear gear. This is a big riding area, Mountains are all around. The Dragon, Or Deals gap is just 150 or so miles away. A lot of bikes & crashes as well. Way to many deaths from people driving crazy, both car's & bikes. There are a lot of drag racers around also. I have a YL 67 Barracuda notch to.
@ylism we have a fair sized riding community given the season length. we have a large mx scene though, being motoconcepts is nearby and the local track gets you to loretta lynns. Road deaths/crashes are few, but we did have a mx'er get killed in a race. He was just a teenager and turning pro this coming spring. His little brother is crazy fast, but there's just something weird about him passing us on a bike that killed his brother.
Do you think the advantage of buying in winter would apply somewhere without an off-season? I live in southern California, so I can ride whenever I want.
hell there is lots of nice bike there!! :D

#1 reason: You can get the bike alot cheaper then normal since the dealer is trying to move their old inventory.
