@jeanpaulkassdale David Guilmour is good, I'm personally not a big fan. But this is a metal heads type of music. Sure, it's super cheesy. But a lot of people still think it's awesome! I personally do, it takes a lot of tallent and skill to create what Lost Horizon has put together for us here! If you don't like it, don't listen to it! Simple as that... No one's making you! Plus your hateful response here in a simple different genre of music isn't gonna make it any less popular.

But I still think these guys are ok too, it's different you gotta give them that, and it's not as cheesy as Manowar at least lol. Rhapsody are amazing as well, not as good as they used to be today, but still good. You should hear Stratovarius's new album, amazing to say the least! I would say it was far better than Polaris.
They are Prog, in every single interview they dismissed themselves from that cage; they are complete Progressive Metal masterpiece (Prog doesn't relate to Dream Theater even tough they're also very skillful)!
@HeimanChords ya but just the style of dream theater is much different. this group fits in with powermetal both in terms of the sound of the music, the image of the band, the artwork, and the lyrics. dream theater is very different in all of those categories, they have more of that prog metal feel to their music and image.
@EnslaveTheEmos DT is pioneer of explicit PROG elements inside the Metal terms (not to forget Queensryche but DT emphasized it in higher intensity), and I agree with you :) They were great once and too bad that Labrie lost that force within his voice.
@EnslaveTheEmos Actually LH's leader Protagonist has said several times that they do not consider themselves as Power Metal and that they do not want to be related to this subgenre of Metal.

So what'd you think? I think My Queen of Winter is pretty good. Their guitarist is Jani Liimatainen, Sonata Arctica's old guitarist. He is freaking good. Their singer is Timo Kotipelto of Stratovarius (but he is still with Stratovarius).
Ah, I thought I detected an Arctica-ish vibe about them. I'm generally a fan of power metal's heavier incarnations, but Cain's Offering have some pretty sweet and succulent melodies going on. Good stuff.
I especially liked Judas Immortal, and that was such a cool accoustic solo in the middle of there. And wow, this band is really dark haha. I didn't see it coming, cool band. Ok my turn have you heard of Gamma Ray or Pyramaze?
Gamma Ray, yeah, I've liked them for a long time. Pioneers in the arena of "power metal with balls", although it's a task I'm not sure Kai Hansen's voice is suited to. Pyramaze: I've heard the name, but not the band. I'll look them up.
For Pyramaze: you'll wanna check out "The Bone Carver" and "The Wizard". They're really pretty good in my opinion. They are one of those bands where every member is pulling his weight in a more sophisticated sort of way.
My favorite song by Lost Horizon. I've listen to this song probably 1000 times...It makes me want to cut everyone's head off, figuratively speaking...ha!

i love my black metal (behemoth) I love my prog death (opeth) i love my industrial metal (samael, project hate) and i love whatever Therion is, but no matter what bullshit metal categoires there are, LOST HORIZON is the shit of power metal. HAIL!
