There is an unforgettable live version that can be heard in 1973 CTI "ARTISTRY" which is on LP which has been out of print for years AND only available on CD from JAPAN for about $30.
When see the planes high in the sky pass by, I just close my eyes and think of nothing, nothing at all and just listen to this beautiful music and forget the world.
Absolutely incredible arrangement of Ravel's 1899 work. Does anyone happen to know if this was ever used in a documentary about John F. Kennedy? I could of sworn I heard it on a HBO documentary from 1988. I was only five at the time, and just barely remember the music, but it sounded a great deal like this. If not, it would certainly work!
Well, the original French spelling is, "Pavane pour une Infante defunte", which translates to "Pavane on the Death of an Infanta", or something to that extent.
I started listening to jazz when I was in the 8th grade , and this was one of the artist among many I came to love.

I just love this piece of music.
I think it's the only piece of music that describes for me the pain of the silence...

I think DJ Jazzy Jeff used the same type of cover for his album "The Magnificent". I could be wrong.

Nice job! In this way the Pavane's melody sounds even more nostalgic and sentimental. Aahh, my heart is melting...

undoubtably my favourite deodato arrangement!
DEEP, DEEP, DEEP then another dollop of DEEP when he flips it and it goes all jazzual at 1.31 and just puts my hair on end!!
AMAZING!!!

YES!!! Just a little bit of blues there. His arrangement is quite beautiful, and does Maurice Ravel quite proud, in my opinion.

Are you there my brother? Remember Yokohama in 74? Did we not know more than the others in a time of cemented tradition?
Have you gone over? Wait for me, save a place for me, we have much to talk of Thomas.

Esta é uma das mais belas interpretações da Pavana que já escutei. A arte de Eumir é soberba e desconhece fronteiras.
