  • I love the revolution style video.

  • who else caught the Kalimah at 2:07?

  • my favourite lupe song, its just insane some of the lines he spits

  • This song is magic. So short, so nice, and the flow is ridiculous. Should be considered a goat just on the merits of this song alone.

  • this song is just....i dont even know.i feel like im rambo with this song.

  • Its not his aunt, its his mother!!!!

  • Greatest song of all time.

    Just sayin

  • I PUT IT ON MY GRANDMOTHER'S DAUGHTER!!! ...my auntie??? lol

  • @phabianx His mom is also his grandmother's daughter 0_o

  • Clearer than the invisible man in the mirror

  • he is one of the few who keep it real in todays music

  • This song makes me feel like fucking superman

  • "Hell met, like Ridell. & high water, hello."

  • Can someone do a breakdown of this song?

  • @kamrantahir111 rapgenius . com/ Lupe-fiasco-the-emperors-soundtrack-lyrics

  • @kamrantahir111 try rapgenius

  • @kamrantahir111 try rap genius

  • YESSS LUPE IS FEATURING ON MY NEXT SONG!!

I WON THE JAM'N 94.5 CONTEST WITH MY TWO NEW SONGS ON MY

CHANNEL "COMING HOME" & "SIGNS" ...HUSSELL SIMONS LOVED THEM

AND THEY ARE GETTING AIRED ON THE LAUNCHPAD SUNDAY NIGHTS!!!!!

  • Know the weapons of the weak and know the weakness of the hard. He's inflecting his voice so it will match up w/ god...

  • He is saying "know the weapons of the weak the weakness of the HARD"...meaning the weapons that weak people use are the same weapons that people who act hard use because those people are really weak...basically saying be true to yourself...The Emperors soundtrack the emperor has no clothes

  • @RellyR510

No. We are weak but we still have weapons. Even opressed people can find a way to fight. Those are the weapons of the weak. And it is very usefull to also know the weakness of those who are in power. Lupe believes he knows them and he believes in the power of the people.

  • *Know weapons of the weak*

  • Are you from England? NeighboUrhoods?

  • Comment removed

  • aren't they lyrics weakness of the "heart"???

  • @harmonicsa no trust me ive listen to the song more than 100 times its I only fear god, the weapons of the weak, weakness to the hard and i will never sleep, In this verse hes basicly saying hes invincible to every thing except for god

  • @DjTj29 I don't know about. Sounds like "weakness of the heart" to me. That makes sense since this song is basically talking about how there's no one to fear except God. Sounds like "Only fear God, not the weapons of the weak, weakness of the heart." That last line is referring to how humans are weak and we are drawn to evil things because our hearts are weak.

  • yo lupe speaks to my heart

  • I don't see how anyone can dislike this song

  • God Place Me In Your Armor, I Prescribe NO PARTNERS!!!! ISLAM!!!!!!!

  • damn.... still my favorite track from him to this day!

  • Here we are now, Entertain us! Like if you get the reference.

  • @bradme1 explain

  • Each verse gets better and better as the song goes on

  • @0hereitis food and liquor

  • I told you I would show up, screamin' out FNF

'Till the world blow up, they said I was SO finished

I told 'em it's SHOW business

Meanin' it's NO business, 'less FIASCO's in it.

    0:00

  • @0hereitis his mixtape - fahrenheit 1/15 part 1 the truth is among us

  • Does someone have a download link for this song? Can't find it anywhere

  • @greyhallow31 You live by a bestbuy, walmart, target, etc? Buy the cd. I know cd prices are steep as everything is now. However, food and liquor is a gem of a cd. It's one of those albums that makes you feel proud to own. Its an elite group to say, "I own food and liquor." Buy it man. Then, rip the cd to your computer and you have it for mp3 too. Simple.

  • "Only fear God

Know the weapons of the weak

    The weakness of the hard

    And never fall asleep"

    This verse is raw.

Lupe Fiasco is one of the few real rappers.

  • @thefridge991 Only fear god, No weapons of the weak, No weakness of the heart, and never fall asleep"

that's how they have it on rap genius and it makes a bit more sense, i think this video is mistaken but i could be wrong,

  • the greatest collection of words, melody, rhythm, and flow to have ever befallen my undeserving ears...

Lupe, its just not fair. At least make every other rapper think they have a chance...

  • @freshprince58 Yeah cause Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Black Thought, Common, Del, Chali 2na, Nas, aren't as good or better.

  • @freshprince58 he is really good but ur kind off lickin his ass

  • lupaaaay fiascoo is such a guy

  • best lupe ever..... hmmmmmmm and the real video is simple but crazy

  • wow not really into rap, but I got here by UFO's Between the Walls, which is sampled for this track, must say this is really good!!!

  • This is one of the only music I can't get tired of listening... amazing

  • can someone explain the marvin billups said what up to the reaper, hell met like ridell, (i get that he's talkin about the football helmets) fuckin ill, just someone explain the relevance to the firrst bar

  • @jesseclifton Hey, the lyrics marvin billups are actually incorrect as Lupe says "Biden Bellows"

There is a guy called Biden who was forced to make a emergency helicopter Landing in afghan, therefore he's saying whaddup to the reaper (nearly met the reaper)

"Hell Met like ridell and high water hello...." - originated from the phrase between hell and high water, Lupe just uses the sentence about Ridell as its a great double meaning (NFL helmets etc)

    hope this helps!

  • lasers </3

  • @Sesh777 fuckin cosign, lasers was horrible. but i support the message 10 fold.

  • "said what up to the reaper, hell met like ridell" who thinks of this...only lupe

  • One word that sums up Lupe....''Amzaing''

  • @MrSeymorebuttz Amazing is right his music is very amazing!

  • ufo sample between the walls used here..awesome!

  • am I the only one that heard the Arthur reference? this man said "I Author like DW Brother!!! Remember the kid show Arthur that used to come on when we were kids?? Golly Lupe, you get me every time =)

  • You guys....We all love Lupe....Which is why we have to do something RIGHT NOW! I got the news, that after Lasers, he's quitting! We have to do something!!! But what? :(

  • @Bloomfire351 he can't quit because he's still under contract to release two more albums.

  • @Bloomfire351 hes not quitting, FNL II is already half done and atlantic is not having a influence on it

  • @Bloomfire351 its called food and liquor two. jesus christ.

  • @Bloomfire351 hit up his twitter n tellin to make food and liquor 2

  • this tune is my most plyed tune on my i tunes of 8000s tunes. i put on my grandmother daughter has been raised but fuck me what a fucking lyric

  • I Put It On My Grandmothers Daughter? Are you serious Lupe? This fool is SO sick. Anyone who doesnt like Lupe has no concept of music.....ever.

Food & Liquor is the best album period

Lasers is dope, but its not the REAL Lupe

  • @Skater2Morrow It depends on what you mean by Real. because Lasers had a lot of personal emotion in it if you look closely ..he doesn't explore his own psyche in other albums like he does on lasers. now having said that id like to say that im a hug fan of Lupe and ALL of his albums and mixtapes and i try to look at each one individually because they all represent different circumstances and ideas and thought processes.

  • Food & Liquor the illest Lu album... The Cool was nice too... Lasers straight tho..Lu was snappin but it was jus that production quality

  • lupe flows like a monster

  • LOVE ALWAYS SHINES EVERYTIME REMEMBER TO SMILE

  • The most underrated hip hop song ever. lyrically incredible...the beat is untouchable..perfect song right here.

  • its lyrics colder than Edy's like the ice cream, not E.D.'s

  • the dislike button shouldn't exist with lupe

shut up haters and restart here: 0:00

  • Who the hell hit the "dislike" button? Are you re-re in the face?

  • In a world where most of everything we hear is derived from some generic societal "norm" it's nice to hear something different, eye opening and so well-done. Lupe's music is, in a way, a kind of "escape into reality" were he makes you think about the world, but doesnt feed you the worlds BS

  • Damn... if there werent any lyrics...i would have never believed or imagined...how could one sum up the current issues around the world with such word play and clever metaphors better the him??? No one bc its never ben done before...amazing and innovating

  • Damn...

  • oops meant to type genius

  • i really hope that by the time i'm a grandfather (in some 40 or so years) people will actually praise this mans genious and message. he really deserves to be awarded and appreciated by all of society and not just the few that choose to think above the bar and choose to see through all social, racial, and economic classes.

  • How do you describe his genius? Literally I have never had my mouth drop in amazement at ANY artist in my life. My whole damn life. Think about that. Like his brain is just....I can't describe. I really can't.

  • @cisseusa123 i think he described his level of genius:

i put it on my grandmama's daughter, i microphone coltrol/with the soul of a slave hummin' "Wading' in the Water"

  • @cisseusa123 he actually has something to say with his music, unlike many other rappers

  • no matter how hard I try I still can't come close to this dude damn

  • @PassiveLogic Same boat. It hurts sometimes but he's my fav rapper so it's ok.

  • im mad he makes being this ridiculously good so easy, and he's still not understood and listened to. its a damn shame

  • Would you do a video like this for my remix of it? Just wondering..haah

  • 4 ppl missed the like button

  • " I do this for my hood like a parka but tell my niggas not to shiver only time we quiver like a archer is..."

I know a parka is a big coat and that refers to the shiver line after it. My question is what is the hood reference to parka.

  • @Boneyslim88 A Parka Is A Coat With A Hood

  • @DoM3RoCk it was actualy i do it fur(for) the hood like a parka a parka has a fur hood :P

  • Why such a great song has so little views and the crap songs of Justin Biber millions? Something's wrong with this world...

  • **FAV LUPE FIASCO SONG!!**

  • no one killed murder lupe fiasco, that mean may allah protect lupe fiasco, dont know if wrong , forgive ask allah,m

  • This song is insane! I love Lupe.

  • This is fire

  • 15 in the clip, and one in the hole

  • better than soundtrack 2 my life

  • @maazlim i like both the same

  • @maazlim no way

  • @maazlim Kid Cudi is one of the most creative artists in the game, don't hate on his music. I love Lupe Fiasco and Kid Cudi. Kid Cudi isn't known for being lyrical either so he isn't anything like Lupe. Go listen to "A Kid Named Cudi" if you didn't like MOTM1.

  • @maazlim how are you comparing kid cudi and lupe? theyre different..

  • No partners to G D is absurd because muslims no prophet no Q'uran, seriously entertain that then explain that simply.

  • 3 people are atheists!

  • @waytoogangsta my mind is blown man hahaha

  • @waytoogangsta Enough with these thumbs-up-whorish comments...You don't have to be a religious person to like Lupe's music

  • @JuBar89 What's your problem? Don't tell me your feelings got hurt. I wasn't referring to you.

  • DIAMOND AND GOLD PLATED/ FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH- DIPPIN MY TOES IN IT

BOUNCE IN THE BOOTH- SPIT IT LIKE SKOAL IN IT- CUZ

I ONLY FEAR GOD/ KNOW THE WEAPONS OF THE WEAK

    THE WEAKNESS OF THE HEART!!!!

FIRST EMCEE SINCE B.I.G. THAT MADE ME WANT TO MEMORIZE HIS LYRICS

    FNF UP

    BROOKLYN UP

  • UFO's song is much better. Sorry.

  • "Here we are now, entertain us!"

Wow he threw in a line from Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in this song (or maybe that's just a coincidence. i dunno)

either way, Lupe and his brain are complex and one-of-a-kind.

  • @supersonicZ16 it is a Nirvana reference. That's what makes Lupe....Lupe. lol

  • thats was just tooooooooooooo goooooood!!

  • Untouchable.

  • two ppl are fkn retarded........who do u think da 3 dislikes came frm?

  • muslim hip hop is much too good talent than christian or mtv hip hop

  • A lot of these lyrics are wrong.

  • "i author, like dw's brother"

    oh shit......

  • who the FUCK disliked this?! holy shit....

  • @desicuellar don't worry... a band of assassins have been sit to his house...

  • @desicuellar lil wayne soulja boi waka flaka and 50 cent dislike this

  • @desicuellar some fucking losers

  • Here we are now entertain us!

    Change don't change us

Ever since the game trained us

We came up like worms in the rain

I dream my chain became a loose noose

That was used to hang us.

  • More of this shit please Lupe... SICK track!

  • I just don't know how this gets so few views compared to other vids???

  • @UnTiLNxtYear

Because a lot of people nowadays don't want to think when they listen to hip-hop. They'd sooner listen to a loud beat with some simple similes mixed in and be content. Doesn't bother me though; it's their loss.

  • amazing,

  • Nice video, but I think Lu is saying: "The weapons of the weak, the weakness of the "heart". The reason I say that is, we don't pronounce our R's thoroughly here in Chicago. And, the majority of us in Chicago hear heart and not hard at that point. It also ties into that if the heart is weak(not in physical health), it can be lead to become a weapon.

  • @nightcypha i agree im not from the chi but just from knowledge of how lupe speaks also it just sounds like heart to me lmao

  • "I'll put it in the bars like beer nuts"

Truth being told here. Atlantic needs to give Lupe tons of promo if they wanna make money, cuz people be SLEEPIN'!!

  • OMG freestyle GOD iz Lupe Fiasco

  • cant lie this is my favorite lupe song ever, an my whole i-pod is filled with him, this song just brings out such emotion with me an makes me realize how special life is an how you only get one chance to do something positive an you can never have fear.

  • yo @hanaaB can you make graphics?

  • To the maker of this video and all its viewers it would be greatly appreciated if you check out my remix to this song..Lupe is my favorite rapper and though my flow and word play are light years away from his I would love if you all watch my video and comment about what you think I could do better =)

  • "we came up like worms in the rain" sick!

  • lupe is sooooo much better then lil wayne.

  • LUPES BETTER THAN NAS

  • @REMIXIT718 your taking it too far but lupe is nice tho

  • this guy is amazing. I think every single person here is wondering why the fuck he isn't bigger?

  • could anyone explain the line where lupe says "to five year old gun shot hearer, i hear ya, clearer than the invisible man in the mirror".

Luv that line just unsure what it means lol

  • @88Cdizzle

I think it means he understands the plight of the children in the ghettos who are surrounded by violence as clearly as "an invisible man in the mirror"

  • i forgot about this song MUTHAFUCKA IS ILL!

  • @moist888 of course, i agree, because rappers who talk social ideals in a society where they're impossible to achieve are the best rappers ever! i totally love how drake talks about his money while we're all in a recession which is a borderline depression! i totally love how lady gaga wants us to "just dance" so we wont think about how America is funding death squads in Columbia. i totally love how soulja boy talks about his pretty boy swag when the rate of the homeless is rising!

    wake up fool

  • @akaSTEPMOM em i the only one that thinks that eminem doenst suck just because he is mainstream? i mean he has alot of heavy songs too that could just hit you!

    you know what i mean?

  • @jr4chargers i understand where you're coming from but you said "many". 2/3 of his songs (all songs he ever wrote lyrics to) are very unnecessary. he does like you said produce heavy songs, though there aren't many of them. he needs to make a album with songs that are just like stan, loose yourself, mocking bird, when i'm gone, etc. not superman, cold wind blows, etc. when he does, then i'll go back to respecting him

  • @akaSTEPMOM *Colombia

    yeah please wake up fool

  • @MIA2IBIZA lol wtf one letter n u gettin all moody this aint a english lesson

  • @akaSTEPMOM i love how people whine and point out great societal ills, all the while doing nothing about it, comforting themselves with the snarky little sarcastic remarks.

  • @missuhlang and i love how your sitting there criticizing him for pointing out these societal ills while making a snarky little remark myself as well. As a mater of fact, I'm doing the same so how about you stop complaining about him being right and listen to the song so we can all be better off in the end eh?

  • @Lamak104 i was mocking him, obviously you missed out on that

  • I do it for the hood like a parka. rude line

  • Lupe is so fuckin DOPE

  • Lupe is a tru rapper he has all the talent and lyrically the best out there now but whos gettin all the spotlight wayne get the fuck outta here waynes a loser lupe will go so far over his heard lyrically wayne wuldnt kno wtf to do

  • most america hip hop need lear from lupe fiasco, because lupe fiasco is deep lyric, most muslim, arab hip hop, uk muslim hip hop are greatest than not muslim hip hop.

  • this is his best song besides the Japanese Cartoon songs

  • God Lupe kills this song. Its just too insane. I can't believe that so many people can't respect Lupe for what he is. AN AMAZING RAPPER.

  • @Beasty347 Simple.Because hes too smart. He has too many wordplays, meaningful lyrics and wordplay. Its amazing hes even famous in the frist place when so many other ppl would much rather see some talentless gangster with a grill, in a club for the music video

  • becuase many people know that lupe is muslim guy mean dont know how respect , many muslim hip hop artis is most killed song

  • wow i never heard this guys music till now i was watching ed reeds highlights and this song was on it...thank god i watched it and here i am listening to 1 of the future of hip hop ...dis kid is crazy...

  • can you fear god?!?!? I just thought we embarrassed him.

  • @MrMeleza All Muslims fear God.

  • all religion will sure fear allah same too muslim every religion everyone will fear allah
