Jules, like most anybody who'd been in a band, was capable of sitting in with CH was well as he did. I was a little floored when I found out that he was in the Funky Kings. They were best known for "Slow Dancing," written by Jules' bandmade, Eagle contributor Jack Tempchin. Tempchin got a little more change(I hope) when it became a hit for Johnny Rivers and later recorded by Olivia Newton-John.
I to have been looking for this video for many years. 1) Love the version & the band 2) Jules vocals & Neil's reaction to them. Neil, Tim, Nick & Paul are great singers, soaring the song to heights it deserves, Jules sounds like he's sitting on the bloated stomach of a dead cow and noises are escaping from it. At 0:56 you can see Neil thinks it's amusing, the 2nd time at 2:08 it's too much. Just listen to the note Jules carries through the last note of the song. Still a version to cherish.
Yes, as some of you may know, the whole "unplugged" concept was invented by Jules Shear. Shortly after MTV basically took his idea and applied it to other artists and the rest is history. This prompted Jules to release an acoustic bonus disk of his hits entitled 'Unplug this!:)
have always loved this song.

This is from MTV Unplugged, probably the single greatest music program MTV ever attempted, back in the day when they bothered to play music.

This is my absolute favourite version of this song - it was the first time I'd ever heard it, and it's as beautiful and haunting as it ever was.
