This will hardly do anythhing. A DNS lookup is so fast that in theory changing DNS servers will help, in practice you will not notice much difference if any. 3 times faster is a ridiculous exaggeration. If you really want faster internet, get a better package from your provider, or buy a better computer, no way around it.

ok.. for those who dont understand how this works .. a DNS server is a place from where your computer retrieves the actual address (ip) of a website's server .. example .. 74.125.224.72 is one of the ips for a google server .. in simple terms .. google.com = 74.125.224.72 .. but ur computer doesnt know that .. so it goes to this database (DNS) which keeps a list of all websites n respective ips .. so the dns ip address is exactly that .. (damn character limit) please go to my next comment..

@killerkid2005 now it is better (faster) to retrieve info from a DNS server which is closer to the place where u live .. so cuz i live in city of pune ,, i googled a DNS server ip in pune and used that ,, just google the "city name" DNS server ip.. to check if a dns is better ,, press (window key + R ) and type ping ip -t ... eg ping 8.8.8.8 -t ... and the better dns is one which gives shortest time .. that my frnds will improve ur net speed noticably ..

DNS servers are equipped with processors that can handle the amount of requests, and the networks they are on are even equipped. And also, that may be more hops on the internet for packets, so that really, really doesn't work.
