Thanks! I'm glad you liked it, but actually, the chords I use are as follows:
Verse: C-Am-D7-G-G7--C--Am-D7-G-G7--C
Refrain: C-Am-D7-G-G7-C-G-C-Am-D7-G-G7--C
My version has just a few more chord changes than yours, but both arrangements work fine, although the F seems a little awkward to me. I'd have to hear you play it to know for sure how it works for you.
hi guitar martin thanks for your latest videos been busy sorry it took so long to get back to you sioux city sue is a lovely song apart from your lovely version i have one by slim whitman on an album i got as a xmas present back in 1965 when i was 14 please keep up the good work best wishes paul boon uk
Hi Jack. It really made me laugh out loud listening to this song.!! Great version. (can't stop laughing as I write this) Great post. Made my day. Mike
It is a funny song isn't it? A truly American show tune! I especially like the PI verse about roping and tying her up. The alternate PC verse is much tamer, but less entertaining!
That was so well done!! I live in Iowa and have no clue how to get to Sioux City! I would really love to drive down to where you're at and take you to lunch sometime (hope u like McDonalds) anyway I'm doin it! Great Music!!
I would be honored to go with you to McDonald's, but I'll warn you, I'm a strict vegetarian. There isn't much there I care to eat! Have you ever seen the video about McDonald's hamburgers and how well preserved they are? If you haven't, do a YT search for "bionic burger."
Yeah, I remember this song! Man, takes me back. So much fun. Yeah, my dad was probably inebriated, too.Jack, did we grow up two ridges from each other? Great performance. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Jeff
Why? Did you grow up in Southern California, Orange County to be specific? The only ridges I remember in my old neighborhood were freeway overpasses! We had a lot of those!
Yeah, I actually met Jethro at Universal Studios about thirty years or so ago! Also met Mickey Rooney on the set of Hollywood Squares, but I don't think he counts as a hillbilly! Actually, there are more hillbillies where I live now in Tennessee. I just love hillbilly music!
Thanks, Jack. They're gonna love this at our little uke club!

Nice rendition. And thanks for posting lyrics. Here'a a version of the chords. I do G7 rather than Gm as you do in the chorus.
Verse: C-D7--G7-C--D7--G7-C
Chorus: C-D7--G7--C-F-C-G7--C

Hahaha. Nope. Never been west of the Miss. I hear there are some hillbillies out that way though. Good ole' boys, through and through. Know any?
