I met his dad at kroger.. i was somewhat star struck even though he worked there ha. i was wearing a tapout shirt and he asked if my friend and i were into UFC of course we said yes, then he went on to say his son, Matt, fights in the UFC. He said he was a deaf fighter and i immediately knew who it was.

If he is really deaf, (He is) he wont be able to hear himself talk, so it's hard to mimic the words that you and i hear, because if he does hear them, he hears them differently, along with the lip reading he sees and the fact he may not be able to hear himself. (sorry if that was confusing) lol

He basically sums it all up when he starts speaking at around 3:08. The dude has heart. IIRC, halfway through his Jon Jones fight, he was badly injured. A dislocated shoulder I believe. He refused to tell his corner, because he was afraid of them stopping the fight. The dude has got serious heart, and that may be the most important weapon for any fighter. :)

I like Hamill but if his fight against Rich Franklin is any indicator on how poor his stand up is then how is gonna fair against an even better striker in Vera.
