Hi, thanks for the information on the Mien, I am a little confused as the people of Ta Phin I have visited 3 times since2005 and they call them selfs Red Dsao. and the family that I stay with high above Ta Phin Lay Ta May, Cat Phin and San May and there grand mother told my they are Red Dsao. Is it because the Vietnamese have told them this? Thank you for the information I need to know more as I will have to change Titles of Paintings I have painted. Troy Carney (monkeymannequin)
I have gone to one of their villages. They are Mien/Iu-Mien. To call the Mien people "YAO" is considered derogatory. I always correct that. Pass the word around. Let the whole world know we are "MIEN."
~ give it to him. apparently, she shows the kid how to give the object to the man (by context of conversation). kid (sweet calling in mien), give it to him. (conversation: polite form) "neh" ~ sorry, i have no idea how to write that. it's an expression to describe an action of giving.
~she says some other stuff too...but can't really catch it.
