  • Yeah, Cole was probably last, but he was with 3 legends on this shit. It's cool that they think so big of him to put him on the song. Jay Elec though!!

  • Jay Electronica

    Kweli

    J Cole

    Mos

I love J cole but he was in no way close to Electronica or Kweli on this lyrically

  • We need a album from Jay Electronica ASAP!!!!!

  • Jay electronica snapped on this joint #teamJayE smile on my face tears of a sad clown

  • Lyrically, Cole didn't reach ANYBODY on this verse. I still love J. Cole though.

  • the lyricism throughout was insane on this track but Jay Electronica went fucking nuts!!! holy hell!

  • Yeah lol J Cole wasn't too great on this song. But I don't think he's anywhere close to as good as everyone else on the song. Especially Mos Def, he killed the shit out of that verse!

  • anyone heard Young Duece remix ? Legit.

  • Cole World! Just proves that he's the futrue when Blackstar let's him on a track...HOT ISH!!!

  • Build a home, teach a class, start a revolution

Free the mind, heal the body, talking evolution

This that black Elohim Anunnaki rap

That Farrakhan Hakeem Olajuwon Qaddafi rap

    DAMN

  • @MrTopShota I was just about to type this

but I thought I better check first

  • THUMBS UP IF KENDRICK LAMAR SHOULD OF BEEN ON THIS!!!!!!

  • @Spinnazn1 he should have, but im not thumbs uping

  • hard to say jcole had the "worst" verse, it all depends on what you like, jcole had some good lines, but kweli ate the hell out of it...jcole just has the fresh style, but these other cats are straight up nasty lyricists!

  • kweli definitely owned this track, holy fuck.

  • 'There is not a parcel or a portion or a measure of a fortune more awesome, gogeous..' MOS DEF!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lotrman91 many people say J COle is very similar to Kanye.

  • @MrCommenterguy only for tha fact they both rap and make their own beats. I could pull that same comparison with Tha Alchemist or Havoc... I feel what you sayin tho

  • @Kayo954 There delivery and rhyme scheme are both very similar too.

  • @MrCommenterguy indeed, thats true. however, I think Cole's wordplay is far more mature, as I feel Ye just be tryna force jokes in his shit.

  • @Kayo954 Yeah, Cole's wordplay is incredible. I didn't say I thought so, just what people generally say. I don't listen to Ye enough to make that statement. Honestly, I only started really feeling Kanye when I listened to Watch The Throne, then I worked my way backwards to previous albums. My real first impression was 'Stronger' and I thought he was nothing special. I like him now though, good enough to listen to atleast but not phenomenal.

  • @MrCommenterguy Word I hear ya. If you just gettin on 'Ye, def check "Tha College Dropout" & "Late Registration". Graduation & 808s are good for there own purposes. Graduation was def a banger compared 2 Curtis' wack ass album "CURTIS". 808 & Heartbreak is only a hit if you like concepts with odd creativity, sorta like Common's electro-Hop-techno albums. Dark Fantasy was pretty fresh. Watch Tha Throne however, I felt was a Hov-Yeezy ego boost album... two rich black men rappiing about being that

  • @Kayo954 kl I've listened to my dark twisted fantasy it's good I have it. Did you like WWT when you say it was an 'ego boost'? I will here graduation, that's the one where he out sold 50 cent in a bet right? kl- and 808 i'll listen to that.

  • @MrCommenterguy Word, Graduation was tha one that beat 5-O [atleast in US sales I believe]. And let me clarify, I fucks with Watch Tha Throne, but it aint a classic. Jay's always been about ego, and Ye pretty much followed when it came 2. I loved tha Rza produced "New Day" though. Favorite track on tha album, B.

  • @Kayo954 Yeah, sometimes jay can have meaning about black pride but otherwise, yah, him and ye are just ego. But tracks like murder to excellence and welcome to the jungle did have meaning. No it's definitely not a classic, not lyrical enough. And yeah, New Day was DOPE, what can you expect from RZA production? I should make a top five producers list, he would be on it.

  • @MrCommenterguy all day, Rza makes my top 5. Hi Tek on it, too.

  • @Kayo954 Oh and safe, about my top ten artists? yeah, best I could come up with but still slightly unsure, too many dope people I missed out. Jay Electronica looks like he's gonna be on there as soon as he drops that album, real talk.

  • @MrCommenterguy Jay Elect's a PROBLEM. He killed it on this as well

  • @Kayo954 by tha way, that Top 10 is solid on your page.

  • Am i the only one hearing Kanye .. ?

  • @sonicdis1 what u mean? where?

  • this is when i first heard jcole and fell in love with his music

  • "...if I tip extra can I huff a cig / blow my smoke out the window droppin' ashes on the bridge" how vivid, that is craftsmanship.

  • This is such an ill collaboration, blows my mind every time.

  • OHHHH SHEEEETTTTTTTT

  • @schwam41 yeah, elect is the type of artist to say something and it never happens :( but the album is complete, he said it himself and so did jay z- i dont know how much longer it can take!

  • @rccola8282 he's about to drop his first debut dude :D so is cole- so happy.

  • @MrCommenterguy i wish he would put out a date, or a single, or a message on twitter, or a sense of optimism...

  • I generally hate to comment on thumbs down, but seriously, 10 of you do not know what real Hip Hop is all about!

  • Yo where the hell did J elec go? anyone know the biz?

  • @rccola8282 Yeah he's doing a product design deal with roc nation unfortunately

  • I can't say anyone did better than anyone. This is disgusting, just everyone went hard.

  • Laughing at all these somber ass comments about hip-hop. Anway mos, talib and jay-e and cole bodied this track. I'm Finna play BasedGOD next haha

  • @GustavoGnarcotic #swag #woop hoes on my dick cause i look like jesus

  • Cole World. All Day.

  • "The Ghetto full of Betrayal like Iago & Othello" This man Kweli brought Shakespeare into a Rap. Incredible

  • @yungrich1124

big upps for catching that line straight fiyyah i missed it

  • Cole had me like O: as well as everybody else!

  • An A+ Rapper can never go mainstream nowadays. Radio, MTV, and the people won't let it happen right now. It is just whatever the set objectives the media has for music today. The people started to accept mainstream notions of success, Now it has fully taken over. The people that love shit rap/hip-hop need to understand they need to stop this before all the great underground rappers go back to what they are rapping about. The Slums and The Streets. We are outnumbered people. Sad to say but true.

  • cole-best verse

    jay-e-2nd best

    kweli-3rd Best

    mos-4th place

and whats sad is no body on that song is a slocuh

  • im from NC and fukk wit cole but tht jay elec verse gave me goosebumps

  • Cole stole it. This is incredible.

  • Which ones J Cole? I dont listen to mainstream.

  • @XcavatorBeats 1:53 is when he starts. Ends at 2:34

  • @XcavatorBeats nut colee isnt mainstream 0_o

  • @XcavatorBeats the 3rd verse

  • The Fantastic Four.

  • This is the real shit.

  • This was the best posse cut of 2010, every year has one.

Really you've got like three different sub-cultures of hip hop represented in this song with J.Cole's style, Jay Electronica's style, and Mos Def and Talib's styles.

AND I DON'T NEED NO HOOK FOR THIS SHITTTT!

  • mf doom on this would have been nice but this beat was more than done justice with these four

  • "Full of betrayal like Iago & othello" TUFF!!!!!!!

  • I like J. Cole's signature "hey!" at the end of his verse!

  • MF Doom is the only one missing out! But still these four on a track is just amazing

  • Mos Def and J. Cole reppin two of my favorite labels G.O.O.D. Music and Rocnation and Talib, Jay Electronica, and Hi Tek are showin everyone what kind of lyricists they are.

  • 10 people never got started forget just begun, LOL!

  • J Cole had the worst verse on the song. That should give you a sense of the level of lyricism is on this song.

  • @suhaybhafiz nahhh talib wins that contest.

  • @suhaybhafiz wtf? fuck you faggot!

  • @suhaybhafiz fuk you he had the best delivery amd the best verz niga

  • @suhaybhafiz you dumb af my nigga

  • @suhaybhafiz You are tripping

  • @suhaybhafiz are you crazy j cole's lyricism in this is on point

  • @VAMediaTV he meant that every verse on this song was so great that made j coles nice verse seem bad

  • @suhaybhafiz maybe the worst verse but it wasnt bad tho lowkey ahaaaha i think he had a cool flow on this but jay did tha best ahahha

  • @suhaybhafiz I Think Some Of You Are A Bit Confused. You Can't Really Say Cole Had The Worst Verse On This Song. Lyrically Everybody Probably Did Better Then Cole, But It Takes More Then Just Nice Lyrics To Truly Kill Your Verse. You Need Delivery, Flow, Emotion Etc. J Cole Definitely Had The Best Delivery. But Overall Everybody Killed It

  • Never heard this before ,my love for this "has only just begun" luv it

big up to the producer for breaking down the carpenters,Magic!!!!!!!!!

  • who was rapping first?

  • @TheMalon25 talib kweli

  • Jay Elec and Cole killed it for pete's sake......

  • I love me some J. Cole but I hope that nigga drops no more comparisons of him to Pau Gasol. As a Laker fan I know that nigga is soft as hell. Still a Cole World though.

  • @Blackhandles He only says that because he says "he is the center of attention" and pau gasol is one of the most popular centers in the NBA and it kinda rhymes can you imagine changeing that to dwight howard? :\ that would sound retarded

  • @Carlis242 Yeah, you're right. Besides I probably don't have a right to tell J. Cole how to write his lyrics.

  • this is jus sick and the riddim killer

  • 8 people accidentally pressed the dislike button...

  • It's a damn shame a gem of a track like this will never see radio airplay.

  • @Ginga 89.3 the current plays it :P

  • @gottobehilikus

Really? What city is that in?

  • @Ginga It's based in minneapolis ls/st paul, and is broadcast in several cities in Minnesota. SUPPORT PUBLIC RADIO

  • @gottobehilikus

    That is awesome.

  • I love that "Oh Yes indeed, I like this!" that Talib says while wrapped up in the intro to the beat. Then, when he gets to the main melody of it, he drops some monster bars on it. I just looove that!

  • how do i find the instrumental

  • @TNGBigTy187 Here you are if you ain't found it yet: /watch?v=oDlczObUqxc

If you have, just enjoy it again:)

  • Lets get something straight,

KWELI killed everyone on this track, lyrics, flow and wordplay wise.

Jay Elec was okay, ok lyrics, flow was ok, could've been better

J Cole shows no variety, all I hear in his rhymes is how people were sleeping on him and bitches and his dick....switch it up some

And Mos....the usual, came off uninspired like he was barely trying and flow was a lil off but, lyrics still rock

    If I had to rate...KWELI #1

    Jay Elec #2

    Mos Def #3

    J Cole #4

  • @MegaPROSE Jay Elec was okay, ok lyrics, flow was ok, could've been better? GTFOH Ja Electronica killed this joint!!!!! You must not have any knowledge of esoteric sciences therefore you can't relate!! imo

  • @MegaPROSE i dont think we were listening to the same song

  • @Swaytfe

We were, just don't have the same opinions.

  • @MegaPROSE My evaluation exactly. Talib Kweli, J.Electronica, Mos Def, then J. Cole in that order.

Talib's verse had beautiful metaphors, plenty of substance, and punchlines to round it out; Electronica's verse was dope, reality-based storytelling with jewels here and there and a nice delivery to complement; Mos Def brought clever wordplay to the table with substance and a little braggadocio; J.Cole's verse was mostly self-glorification, but he did have dope delivery and some clever puns.

  • The Notorious bum? Is that a Biggie diss

That takes some balls if it is

  • @ThomasMichealMeyer look it up on youtube. It's about a homeless rapper.

  • @ThomasMichealMeyer No, it's not a dis to Biggie!

Go to the search engine and type in "Notorious B.U.M. - Money On The Ground"

  • This song is dope. Never gets old.

  • Hip Hop !

  • yo this is classic hip-hop song and its not even from the 80s or 90s

  • yo you forgot kweli in the title lol

  • @JimmayO982 Kweli is Reflection Eternal..

  • @GrapeIyce oh my b i thought that was just an album or something

  • @JimmayO982 its his song

  • 5 people are DRAKE fans...

  • @blueiguy1 Dog that's foolish cuz Drake & J. Cole are friends...there's never been any beef, rivalry, or tension between them.

  • cant decide between jay electronica and cole. both verses too sick.

  • wow

  • best track of 2010.

  • Comment removed

  • J. Cole's verse was sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 niggas like gucci

  • this is HIP-HOP!

  • best collabotrack of 2010

  • Black Star and the future of RocNation, go head

    song is ill

  • smartest move in the century was putting j. cole, and jay electronica under one label

  • How many people gonna turn on Jay Electronica once he sell a few million?

  • @designschema he's not commercial enough to sell a million, I can't imagine him making a track that could break through mainstream-wise..

  • @QuantumJoe62 Have you seen the Mountain Dew commercial? Enough said...

  • @designschema what does him being on a commercial say? it doesn't mean nothing.. he's still not commercial enough to break radio.. I like him, hes rly deep but we'll see

  • @designschema,

lol, Only YouTube Underground heads turn on their favorite rappers once they start selling records...

  • @UltraKid808 lol yu aint neva lying

  • i like how Kweli rerecorded this to say Donnie Brasco's name right. Original version he said "Brisco" I see you! Raw song though. Jay Elec>>>>>>>>>

  • sounds pretty clean negros...

  • The 5 people that thumbs down on this tune were not listening to the same thing as 335 this is a great tune like bboystyles650 said the song sucks after 3:47

  • THA BEAT!!!!

    * * * * *

  • J.Cole had good flow just like everyone else...but he is last in wordplay...that shit was dumb...in a bad way,,,Kweli was good...Jay called out my WhoDat Nation...thank you....and of course, Mos with the usual rap....some guy who commented earlier...he didn't think critically to Mos' verse...otherwise he would have said Mos was just "rhyming"....

  • @phester061594452 are you joking?? Cole murders the hell out of this track. All four guys are insane lyricists, but Jay was definitely the weakest. Mos and Talib are all-time greats no doubt, but J Cole is on his way up there

  • @MisterIanFarrell J. Cole is shit on this track--sounds just like Drizzy or some of that shit. Electronica kills it.

  • @Ferriswheeljunky what ?????????????????????

  • @Ferriswheeljunky yeah his verse didnt really fit the song topic.

  • @MisterIanFarrell

look, now i know that ur entitled to ur own opinion and everything

but DID YOU HEAR JAY ELECTRONICA ON THIS TRACK?

he completely murdered this shit, he did way better than cole on this one for sure.

Infact, i would even go as far to say that he did the best on this song because he took this track from a different angle. He completely put us in his shoes, talking about his habits and life, then talking about how he sees the world from his point of view.

  • @ReaIMusic Yeah Jay Electronica is one of kind. I agree he did have the best verse. His imagery is stunning. But Cole had the best mic presence and delivery and good wordplay on top of that too..

  • @diddisdiddat Mos had the best verse

  • @phester061594452 thats why hes blowin up now right? and jays doing nothin

  • LOVE IT!!!!!

  • 5 people dislike the fact that this song is FIRE!

  • 5 peopl listen to gucci mane and waka flocka and have no taste or comprehension!!!

  • @ChongotheMonkey duuude i agree fully

  • ZzzzzzzZzZzZzzzzzz

  • @ThatDudeDevin ah wake up!lol

  • @nandusell are you talking about The Roots new album with J Legend?

  • now this is what real hip-hop is all about

  • j. cole is embarrasing:

"i'm the center of attention, this is clever, i'm pau gasol."

    clever? embarrasing, really.

  • @todayspigdotcom Then he says really im Lebron, now that is clever!

  • @todayspigdotcom whats embarrassing about it?

  • This is like detox from the mainstream poison....

  • @keysib the folks that gave this a thumbs down are the same one that are all on lil wayne's jock

  • j. cole=talib kweli>jay elect>mos def

  • @tyreesemj1 U SERIOUS? Jay elect is prob one of the most dopest niggas in hip hop right now.

  • @abcliqor i was just talking bout the song. i ain't say jay elect ain't dope. exhibit's a & c r awesome, but j cole & talib bodied him on this track. just spittin facts.

  • @tyreesemj1 Nah fam Crazy. I had Jay, Cole, Mos, then Kweli last haha.

  • @WhtMike2006 jay elect was nice, but he was saying hot shit bout random shit: going 2 new york. if he rapped a better topic, he prolly would have a better verse than kweli. cole really had the best verse, cuz flow-wise, worldplay, topic, energy, and even arguably lyrically. mos is great, but this verse, he just was rhyming good. he won't saying shit. kweli was saying something meaningful & the muhammad ali tatyana line was sick. take out them overall & just judge off the verse, u'll c i'm right.

  • hands down,hi tek is one of the illest,i think Dilla would bump his shit, matter of fact,he prolly did....WHOOmp,here it is!

  • RESPECTTT!

    This song is amazing.

  • Song of the year? possibly..... they all went in nd that beat has that nice feel to
