A moon hoax believer??? I didn't think there were any of you left still. Even the makers of those hilarious Books and Docuemtaries never believed in the Moon Hoax. What they did believe is that that there are enough schmucks out there like yourself that would fall for such BS....they are laughing all the way to the bank.....PT Barnum was right.
potrodsas, you sound like one of those broken record one trick pony ravers that unfortunately show up on sites like these from time to time. Since you're so "anti" everything, why not be anti talk?
@grueha the exaust vaports could still be appropriate. they had rocket thrusters on each side for additional manuvering, maybe they had a rear booster too.
A great video but I agree the continuous music is distracting. It would be much cooler just to hear the sound of the J2 engines. Whoever made this, can you remove the music loop?
could have been a very otherwordly and somewhat fantastic experience. It's STILL a great video though to be sure.
There was always something about the J2's appearance and the weird sound it made in flight that kind of held me spellbound as a kid, and still thrills me as an adult.
Still very cool for me too. The sound in flight is a classic sound. As a kid, I would look forward to the episodes where the J2 lifted-off and landed and when it was in space. Irwin Allen put a lot into his show's vehicles.
@61seaview As our dear Dr. Smith would say, "Indeed!", lol But yeah, Allen put a LOT into his shows, visually and soundwise, and had some of the most unearthly sound fx ever.
Unfortunately, I think his grandiose visions cost the studio a lot of money, and the props used for shows like Land Of The Giants became too costly.
He conquered TV land with 4 great series and a nice bunch of disaster movies right off the heels of his TV shows. The guy was unstoppable!
His are all classic shows and movies in my book - you can tell from my user name. I liked the early LIS episodes the best while it was still serious sci-fi, but Dr. Smith kept all seasons fun! I have all seasons on DVD and lots of LIS memorabilia. Now if I could just build my own house in the form of the J2...what a dream life that would be! Ok, I know I'm weird.
Just a suggestion; the continue music loop is unnecessarily distracting from what otherwise is a well-made vid. If you ever remake this, I don't believe the music is necessary. The sound of the Jupiter's atomic motors are pretty good by itself.
Some people are just looking for some Lost in Space footage to bring back some nice memories, but there's some much home made crap, junk and garbage about this TV classic going arround Utube that is irritating, specially the idiots with the flight simulator bullshit. Gosh! You people are simply annoying.

The greatest achievement of America was the fact they put the word "HOAX"next to the name "Moon" in all the encyclopedias and dictionaries.

@61seaview At 1st Dr. Smith was a sinister cold blooded spy, then they made him goofy.

@Rivera114 I have the same dream. J-2 house on a hill with a live steam train set running around it!

Remember escape velocity from Earth is about 24,000 MPH. The Jupiter looks like is going about 150 knots... that won't get you to the moon.
marcparella 2 years ago
The J2 had a anti-gravity propulsion system, thats the rotating dics on the bottom, so there is no escape velocity.

Great stuff Spid. Very realistic. It would be better if dubbed with the subtle incidental score rather than the theme music however.
