I love this game, but it's really lacking without a an online ranking system. Is there one that I don't know of? Also, it lacks profile data. Should be something that tracks my progress other than the boom bucks which just tracks how much I play. Like fewest moves to complete all levels and most points to complete the points levels. Not a ton of motivation to achieve something that's not tracked, but maybe that's just me? Let me know if there's a ranking system that I've missed.

I've got a black Wii on order; really excited, but I'm worried it's going to turn out to be a disappointment. There are a lack of great games, or, more specifically, a lack of games that I think are great.
3rd party developers are mostly to blame as they are too lazy and unimaginative to make games tailored to the Wii. Instead they just focus on graphics for PS3 and 360.
And Nintendo need to release more mario and zelda titles.

Yeah, I know what you're saying about the games on Wii. I just got a cheap copy of Resident Evil 4 to see what it would me like with the motion controls; I got a surprise when, 20 hours of solid play later, I realised just how much better the Wii controls can make a game when implemented correctly. Although it's partly testament to the quality of the actual game that, 5 years on, it can still hook me, even though I've played it on every format.
The thing is, implementing those controls meaningfully is difficult.
Zelda and Metroid has some good ideas with it, but I don't see it going much further until Natal comes out. RE4 was great, but like you said, that was testament to the quality of the original game. Zelda was great on GCN, and Mario and Metroid were both doable on the GCN also (Metroid benefited more, obv). I just want a more compelling reason to have those motion controls...

This one is virtually a copy-paste of the first one with some additional features, such as the virus blox, zero gravity or, my personal favorite, the slingshot.
And being a copy-paste of the first isn't a bad thing at all: the system worked, and it still works in this one. It just feels more like an expansion pack than a brand new game. I'd give it an 8/10, especially since literally anyone can play it.
This game is 10x better then the first one the only thing i miss from the first one is the medevil theme but the pirates make up for that! GO BUY THIS GAME!
I didn't play the first one, but this was an AWESOME buy for me. Tons of achivements/awards, a LOT of levels, level types, great multiplayer, powerful level editor, very quick/easy way to download other user created levels. I mean, I downloaded the level for like... 2 secs, and *POOF*! I have a new level. This game is GREAT!

I think getting the newer one would be better BECAUSE: The very first one was about 50 to 90 levels with some pretty basic bricks. The second one has around 400 levels and has PLENTY of new things like bricks - characters - gravity levels and many more! SO I think Boom Blox Bash Party would be a better deal for you.

Horrible review. This review is based purely on the game before it. Each game, reguardless of a sequel or not, should be "Standalone". I have no idea what the gameplay is like, how the game mechanics are, or anything. I just know it is better than the origional, which doesn't help me much...
it's alot like the original , with everything updated and a wee bit more mode and tool . the create tool is also awesome with the sharing map. if you didnt enjoy the original that much , chances are this wont either . if you're a huge fan of the original , there's no goddam reason why you shouldnt get this .

Steven Spielberg should direct a video game movie. That way he can raise the bar for the genre. It would have to be something challenging for him. He can make most action games any day of the week.
If you think about the only big difference between this game and Little Big Planet is the genre. If you were to convert Little Big Planet to a puzzle game it would be identical. Or if you were to convert a This game into a platformer. It would be identical.
not really unlike halo forge you can't recreate everything in the game. You can't recreate the campaign levels or the multi player level, and Halo 3 doesn't have a file share search engine or rating system like LBP and BBBP (boom blox bash party) In both LBP and BBBP all the levels that came with the game were created by the game developers using the same editor that you get in the game.
It's not as robust as LittleBigPlanet but it sure looks like a lot of comical fun. If you had a Wii, this is for you. A PS3 then LBP. 360? Halo 3's forge I guess =/
It's kinda hard to compare editors from different games I think the only way you can compare builders from different game is by how much in game content can you recreate with it.
I'd say it's as robust as LBP. All the in game levels in both games are created by the developers using the same in game editor that is included in the game. So that would make them about equal. Though LBP is just a little bit more robust cause you have more background options.

I think getting the newer one would be better BECAUSE: The very first one was about 50 to 90 levels with some pretty basic bricks. The second one has around 400 levels and has PLENTY of new things like bricks - characters - gravity levels and many more! SO I think Boom Blox Bash Party would be a better deal for you.

I had no idea there was a sequel to this game. I loved the first one, but I didn't even finish it xD. I am so tempted to buy this one because the new levels and visuals look very sweet. Especially the space levels.

Horrible review. This review is based purely on the game before it. Each game, reguardless of a sequel or not, should be "Standalone". I have no idea what the gameplay is like, how the game mechanics are, or anything. I just know it is better than the origional, which doesn't help me much...

it's alot like the original , with everything updated and a wee bit more mode and tool . the create tool is also awesome with the sharing map. if you didnt enjoy the original that much , chances are this wont either . if you're a huge fan of the original , there's no goddam reason why you shouldnt get this .

Steven Spielberg should direct a video game movie. That way he can raise the bar for the genre. It would have to be something challenging for him. He can make most action games any day of the week.

If you think about the only big difference between this game and Little Big Planet is the genre. If you were to convert Little Big Planet to a puzzle game it would be identical. Or if you were to convert a This game into a platformer. It would be identical.

not really unlike halo forge you can't recreate everything in the game. You can't recreate the campaign levels or the multi player level, and Halo 3 doesn't have a file share search engine or rating system like LBP and BBBP (boom blox bash party) In both LBP and BBBP all the levels that came with the game were created by the game developers using the same editor that you get in the game.

It's not as robust as LittleBigPlanet but it sure looks like a lot of comical fun. If you had a Wii, this is for you. A PS3 then LBP. 360? Halo 3's forge I guess =/

It's kinda hard to compare editors from different games I think the only way you can compare builders from different game is by how much in game content can you recreate with it.
I'd say it's as robust as LBP. All the in game levels in both games are created by the developers using the same in game editor that is included in the game. So that would make them about equal. Though LBP is just a little bit more robust cause you have more background options.
