i had a problem like that but my window wouldnt roll up at all and what i did to get the motor out was drilled a few holes in the door where the bolts were for the window motor instead of drilling out all the rivets. was alot less work
hey bah you got any suggestions for regluing a window back in the clips on the cheap?i got a 95 lincoln continental and the drivers window came out of the clips that bolt onto the tracks i have no clue as to get it fixed would construction adhesive work and actually hold up?
@blazerlover25 I have used black RTV to "glue" a window into the seal so that it wouldn't fall down anymore. Not exactly the "right" way to fix it but I hate working on power windows and the RTV seems to hold it up just fine.
If you don't want to screw with fixing the power just swap it out for the manual all it involves pulling out the power motor and reviting or bolting the manual winder in.
If I lived in your area I could have it fixed or swaped in 30 min. And if you don't have the right size of revits just use carrage bolts.
You wouldnt have to fuck around with it if you told gramps from the start that you just don't want to fuck around with his window.

Do your self a favor and don't replace the rivets its unnecessary extra work just use screws/nuts.
Hows the weather in Minnesota? Its starting to cool down in Las Vegas. In fact I don't think it went over 105 degrees today :)

@mja19870000000000 It has been cooling off a litte here lately. Highs in the 60's but not too cold yet.

It's the nylon rollers in the gear, and the gear kit is about $15. I did mine in about an hour and the reg and window does not have to come out.

@WhoSaidTyler Hey thanks, I didn't really look into it much but now that I know I can get the parts instead of just the whole motor I may just do it.

@bah53 me and my dad replaced the gears and i don't think we had to take anything but the door panel off but i don't know for sure

My 1993 Thunderbird's windows don't roll down or up reliably. I think I'm going to fix it sometime.
