It's not bad. Dont expect the power of a $700 laptop or desktop but I have the 2gb model with 250gb HD and it does all I need it too. It plays youtube and HULU fine and in a pinch you add a USB memory stick and have it act as extra ram or upgrade the ram to 4gb internal. Got mine last night for $300 at BJ's wholesale.

Acer has a problem with this laptop. I have the same one and it will drain the battery about 5% per day when it is completely OFF. When the battery is removed, it does not discharge, so the laptop itself is doing it. I have the latest BIOS and 'wake on lan' is off.

Leave it off for a week and you'll be down nearly 50% in power.

Sorry if I sound bit of a n00b here, but for the su2300 processor, does each of the two cores have 1.2 gHz of power? Just my deduction from my reading that the su3500 has 1.4gHz but is not as powerful.

Yes it is is 1.2 ghz per core, and it supports virtulization technology. and does have 1nb l2 cache. It is superior compared to most celeron line cpu

This is a $400 ultraportable notebook. Compared to a standard price $350-$400 netbooks. This is a good choice. It provides that cross between a netbook and a notebook with more power and features than a netbook.

No shit sherlock, you're obviously going to get a better product when you shell out twice the price. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against apple, but it annoys me when mac owners compare apples (pun not intended) with oranges. If you really have to compare, then do it with a product of the same price point, not something half the price.

There's no restore / Windows 7 disk. You have to create one in Windows. Lenovo provides the software to do that.

Well, this feature has been already available within Vista (I had to do a backup when the laptop was bought, as Vista was already installed, but there were no DVDs included ... so you got prompted to backup on your own).

I don't know how that backup works, cos luckily I never had to use it =))

There is no 3-cell for the 1410 series / Timeline 1810T. Only various capacity 6-cell batteries. All flush with the bottom of the case.
