Aaron Boogaard TKO's Jon Mirasty 1/31/09

A TKO is not actually a knock out. It's when the referee stops the fight when one of the fighters gets in trouble or can't continue the fight due to injury. A KO is when one of the fighters takes a punch and gets knocked out cold and get up on his own. In this fight, Boogaard lands a big right and Mirasty goes down and the refs jump in and stop it, making it a TKO win for Boogaard.

@kda5 When I think TKO, even in hockey, I think knock-out; i.e. out cold, layed out, he doesn't get up. Not just dropping a guy to the ice. If thats the case then if you get the guy off balance just by a tug or push or short-hand punch that puts him down; it's a Knock-out.
