  • this video is trash and the music too

  • @latiaeslapora-Classy. I like it. This may be the first storyboard video.

  • blondie.......nuff said!!!!!!

  • possibly the best us punk record?

  • Why Die Young Stay Pretty was chosen as a Single over Victor is Mind Blowing!!! I like Die Young but it isn't as Awesome as Victor or Living in the Real World!!! If Not for Sound A Sleep, Eat to the Beat Very Well could Have Had a Chance at Knocking off Parallel Lines as the Best Blondie Record!! But Hey, In this Case, Being the 2nd Best Blondie Album is Still Great!! Damn, Debbie could have been an Amazing Actress! May 30th Can't Wait!! LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!!!!!!!

  • @msmdude68 I know!! Die Young Stay Pretty gets boring and Sound Asleep is boring too. I agree about this being the 2nd best album too.

  • @msmdude68 "Die Young, Stay Pretty" wasn't released as a single, promo or otherwise as far as I know. But it's more radio friendly than "Victor." The planned 5th single was actually Slow Motion as stated in the liner notes of the Complete Picture but "Call Me" cut short these plans. I think "Shayla" would have been an excellent single! Eat to the Beat is probably my favourite Blondie album too.

  • This video used to air on the cable channel PRISM when I was a kid and it scared the crap out of me! (But in a good way.)

  • @Eleana1981 I was gonna post the exact same thing! I was 3 or 4 when my sister would play the "Eat to the Beat" video over and over again, and this video terrified me! I had no idea what the lyrics were, and I thought the video was about Blondie being stalked by these scary singing dark-robed men! She tried to run away through the fields, or hide by the river, but she couldn't get away! They kept chasing her! lol

  • Fucking Killer Song from Eat to the Beat!! And it was the 2nd to Last Song on the B-Side!!! Shows how Truly AMAZING Eat to the Beat was!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Debs co wrote 7 of the 12 tracks on Eat To The Beat.

Ellie Greenwich ( a fantastic song writer from the 60s)

and Lorna Luft (Judy Garlands daughter) sang the

    background vocals

    Ellie on Dreaming and Atomic.

Lorna on Accidents Never Happen and Slow Motion.

Lorna would later do backing vocals on the Tide Is High.

Ellie wrote so many amazing songs Leader Of The Pack,

Be My Bady & River Deep Mountain High (which some say is the greatest song ever written) Da Doo Ron Ron & Do Wah Diddy etc.

  • @MrLayford65-It's technically 8 of 12 because Debbie also helped co-write the music on Slow Motion. It's not credited however.

  • Do the Lyrics refer to the writer Victor Bokris? I seem to remember some connection but can't recall what it was. I think he was an early biographer of the band, no?

Anyway, this is an interesting Blondie clip and I'm happy to see it here online. As a kid, the chorus here reminded me of the Wizard of Oz.

  • When I first heard this song I really disliked it, but after seeing this video I think this song is awesome!

  • @WhoAmI4631 Yes, I agree, why hasn't this been seen more before.

  • Debbie cracks me up in this video

  • Does anyone remember RadioVision? It was the weekly video show I first saw this video on - along with the rest of the Eat to the Beat videos. 1980. Man, I suddenly feel old at 42.

  • I can't believe they made a video for "Victor"! AWESOME.

  • @diskochimp Eat to the Beat made history, as it was the first album also released entirely on video

  • My sister had this album when it was first released. I was 6 and I fell in love with this song. The rest of my family thought I was a freak and was right !!! LOVE IT

  • I love this song. I listen to it often while looking at Stormfront.

  • Debbie looks like an Ewok

  • This is a very intense song. Love it!

  • This was from the world's first video album Eat to the Beat. Blondie made videos for all of the twelve songs.

  • Actually, this is NOT the first "video album". ELO beat them by a few months with their Discovery release.

  • When I was a kid, when this came out...I loved this video! I still do! I love the letter part.

  • this is the song I hear in my head in times good and bad,

Debbie is... there are no words

  • Their darkest and heaviest song, love it!! Just for fun I play this song for my friends and make them guess who it is, they guess every goth and metal band but are surprised in a good way when they find out its Blondie.
