dont waist your time trying to put your 2 sense shagoosty, i bet you are one of the followers of richard dawkins. you are very ignorant and not only are you ignorant but you are also stubborn. maybe if you used a little common sense then just maybe you could understand deepak's logic. Deepak was a chief of medicine before he was a spiritual guru so who am i suppose to believe? deepak or some stubborn prick behind a computer screen?

All I know that I have councessness and that I can not spell very well but the thoughts itself are not material, they do not realy exists but yet they are
When you die, your brain dies and your mind, therefor dies. you are no more than meat and bones at that point. Get used to it. Embrace it. Live life to the fullest.
there is what you call/consider "life" after your physical bodies death. basically your consciousness is an area in science which cannot be touched because its not physical, with our brain, wether we're clever/stupid we have limits. these limits in our brains are our 5 senses and emotions, its impossible to imagine to have more then 5 senses and different emotions because weve grown up as humans with them, but once you die the consciousness has no limit, then.. reincarnation or summit haps.
Oxygen deprived brains react similarly. During death, bright lights and tunnel vision are a common effect of oxygen deprivation. Fighter pilots experience this during centrifuge tests. Astronauts often experience this while leaving the atmosphere at Mach 25. That's right, 25 times the speed of sound.
@drche420 Oxygen deprivation creates an overall confused state of being. In NDEs, however, you find the exact opposite. In fact, ~75% of NDErs say that the NDE state is MORE lucid and real than everyday life. I urge you to compare that with Jet Fighter Pilots or ordinary people's experiences while fainting.
Additionally, NDErs do not have "tunnel vision" - they see an actual tunnel. Those are two entirely different experiences.
@drche420 Straw-man much? It's not "hearsay" when it's someone's direct testimony, rigorously analyzed and questioned first-hand. There are thousands of well-documented cases like this. In fact, even those skeptical of NDEs in general will agree with this fact if they're aware of the data. Interview people yourself who've just had a cardiac arrest and been reviewed. I guarantee you that at least 5% will have had a more lucid experience during this time than they've ever had before.
Apparently you don't understand what hearsay means. You're taking someone's word that their experiences are "more" lucid. Your words are merely hearsay. I only analyze data, not testimony.
@drche420 No, it's you who can't tell the difference between testimony and hearsay. Hearsay is more like a rumor, and not a first-hand report. Testimony is someone's honest attempt at describing what they experienced. I'm not taking "someone's" word that their experiences are more lucid; I'm taking millions of people's word on it. Go to NDERF (dot org), and read the data for yourself if you doubt me. ~75% of NDErs explicitly state that the NDE is more lucid than real life. FACT.
This is hilarious and sad simultaneously. How can you not realize that believing someone's testimony is naive at best? These tables and the data you talk about is gathered by asking people. You are basically just taking their word for it.
@drche420 As are you, when it comes to basically every study on any topic out there. Whether you trust the interviewees or the scientists' reporting, you're taking other people's word as the tentative truth. And the truth is, there's nothing wrong with that. Empiricism is logically fallible, and no amount of evidence ever guarantee a truth. That's a trivial point that you ONLY bring up as some kind of objection because you don't want to deal with the conclusion.
good sire, stop mixing up the brain with the spirit. the brain is temporal. the spirit is eternal --- the problem here is a lot of moral relativist think they "know it all" but they are confined to the logical understanding that goes with this temporal body and life we live on this material plane. --its not unlike " we cant see the trees for the forest" --- they are bound by logic --spritual things dont have a lot of logic to them --
the argument that the spirit controls the brain is unscientific.. it is a known fact that in many cases where people have suffered brain damage their entire personalities change... if the brain wasn't the producer of mans personality then damage in one area wouldn't affect another area.
@priyochatterjee1 OK So you believe that you were created by your brain and controled by your brain. If there is no spirit then this must be true. I think your brain is much too powerful to be rational or even logical.
@Lekatt1 no.. me and my brain were created by cell division and cell specialization during nine months in the womb.. like everyone else and yes i believe(because the evidence suggests so) that my consciousness and my actions are a function of my brain... and if you mean too powerful to accept YOUR standards of logic and rationality then yes i think it is.. if you read some scientific books then you will also be able to comprehend what im saying .
@priyochatterjee1 OK I get it. Then if your consciousness and actions are a function of your brain, then you were created by your brain and controlled by your brain. Sorry about that.
@Lekatt1just to be a little bt more clear.. my brain and my body were created out of biological processes.. however the manifestation of my personality has been created and is continuously being created by my brain.. i think the main question you are trying to ask is where does the individual separate from the physical lifeless body the answer is that it never was separate.. the individual is an illusion created by millions of neurons firing in sync. like hundreds of still frames making a movie
@priyochatterjee1 ::: What is the 'mind'? Is it able to function apart from the brain? OOBE would make it seem so. That a physically blind person has sight during a NDE is also telling., that the mind (or spirit) does exist separate from the body. Even tho the physical body is injured, that injury does not transfer over to the spirit body.
@k0smon that's factually incorrect, brain injury DOES indeed affect personality, intelligence, temper, reasoning and abstract thinking etc.. basically all the things one would associate with the "spirit" of a person.. the brain can produce images when we aren't seeing anything (ie in our dreams) and even if there is no correctly proven reason yet from science for the story how do you know that the spirit explanation is anymore credible than any other unproven explanation out there?
Here's one problem with reincarnation: what happens if every living thing dies? Like 5 billion years from now when the sun expands into a red giant? How could you be reincarnated?
@ApertureScience27 Well there is always other possible universes or dimensions but, as pointed out by George Carlin, I think a more imperative point on the issue of reincarnation is that there, at some point, were only a small group of people and they all supposedly had souls. Now there are nearly 7 billion people claiming to have souls. Where did all these new souls come from? Someone's printing up souls. And it seems it would lower their value.
@64bitWar You could be right, however, nothing is certain. You tell people from the 1400 that the earth is a sphere and its not the center of universe they would have had the same approach you had. Nothing is certain.
@Mursilia Nothing can be 100% certain, not even that you or I exist, nor anyone except himself, since he might be dreaming the whole thing. When I say something with certainty, I mean its probability is extremely high: so high that I'm not bothered by doubt. I'm certain that leprechauns don't exist, but I can't be 100%. If you like, then, I will grant you that in an absolute sense it's not certain, or rather, that it is no more certain than the fact that you're reading these words.
Nothing can be known for absolute certain, but when someone says they are certain they mean the probability is extremely high. However, when it comes to some things, our collective certainty nearly approaches absolute. For example, Earth is a sphere. This fact will not change unless a planetary catastrophe happens.
@14sJakeB190 Yes, I suppose that is correct. Time is a continuum. As am I. As Sheldon Cooper has said, I've been what I am at each point in the implied time period. But that's a retarded argument for my particular form going beyond the point in time that it ceases. What an interesting way to speak of death though. :D
also remember that i stated in previous comment that these occurences cannot be proven beyond any doubt due to their nature. however theyve been proven to point after being demonstrated an abundance of times, during scientific experiments, that it is now foolish not to accept their validity.

dean radin and charles tart are 2 of quite few very rigorous scientists who accept the truth of such phenomenon. read the books The Conscious Universe- radin and The End of Materialism-Tart. look further into issues and do some research before making such hasty judgements.
local-nonlocal, deepak and his misunderstanding of quantum physics at its best. WHY THE FARK HE USES THIS NOTATIONS INCORRECTLY and ppl just agree to it without even questioning????
Cats, dogs - what about chickens? We dont ask too many questions when we eat'em despite the fact that they are just another one of many forms of life. What about even those humans who are born with mental disabilities and have no cognitive abilities at all?
The answer as it looks to me is that its all about intelligent human brain, which as Deepak says is an [essential] instrument that orchestrates our consciousness. Just as we cant watch a TV program without a TV even when its being aired.
All I can say & everyone must agree with is one day sooner a later we all will find out that there is life after death on our own demise! I promise it will happen...
Make no mistake about it, HELL IS REAL!!! If you are not born again as mentioned in the Bible, see my video titled "Warning: Four Types of People that are Hellbound". It’s a message I preached on the streets of Long Beach CA.
@yxrcbszg The problem with Gandhi is the same problem every person has, namely the dreadful soul-killing desease of sin. Regardless of his "good deeds", Gandhi was a sinner in need of the Savior. The same goes for the virging Mary, the pope, Buddha, or whoever else throughout history. If Gandhi could save himself by his good deeds, Christ died in vain. Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart, which is desperately wicked in His sight. That's why we must be born again.
Check out Stuart Hammeroff in some of his videos as well as Today, I died - A BBC Science Documentary and view his latest accomplishments in regards to Quantum Entanglement and Quantum Coherence.
There is a new ebook, only 99 cents, if you can afford it, which actually explains a science behind NDEs and how esp works.
'God Stopping A Nuclear War'
There are a few chapters on how Satan and God are fighting in today's world.
Wall Street corruption, sucide bombers, black rioting and crime in the UK, failure of education, the seizing of the internet, and banking, are all there.
Also there is a link to a secret website used by Hollywood for religious themes in movies
Reincarnation is real... The Bible even states in Revalations, that we all must overcometh all things or we will be sent back out. When a person dies, that energy is reused to provide life once again. Just like when water evaporates into the atmosphere and then rains and it keeps repeating that cycle over and over. God did say to look at everything about Earth and we would learn of our purpose in life.
Ecc. 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Even animals are called souls. Let God be found true thou every man be found a liar.
Gen. 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul; Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sinneth, it shall die. Num. 31:28 And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, & of the beeves, & of the asses, & of the sheep. The soul is the person.
@smalldar56 you can make anything be true with the bibles 31000 verses. I like to keep it simple. the teachings of Jesus in the Gospel of thomas(114 verses), or The Song of the Lord,(700 verses).
@FuzzyPig5 humans are integrated 3 dimensional beings moving in to the 4th dimension. The three dimensions are time: past, present, future. past thinking is electromagnetism, and nervous system that is limited by the speed of light or sound. The past is your shallow observations. Present awareness is emotional awareness, and future awareness is imagination, because your imagination is outside of the brain, anti-gravity, not limited by speed. 4th dimension integration is your heart center
there's nothing special about people. Animals are just as special. Look how complicated a fly is. it zips back and forth, takes of extremely fast. Look at the ant, how strong the ant is compared to a human and so on. Do U think a fly cares about death ? no.. People are to BORED, need to HUNT for food so they're not so BORED.
Yeah, I'm just gonna go ahead and not take seriously a guy that wears diamond studded eye glasses! Why is this spiritual nonsense taken more seriously than Christianity? All manner of spirituality and rationalization of an after life, other than the Christian sensabilites, have become safe for the mainstream media. If memory serves me, Jesus saw this comin' ! Matt. 24:4
@psamacify Jesus was also misquoted, and misrepresented by the church. Almost everything that he said described what the spiritualists of today are saying. Jesus said that everyone is a god. His own words. When will christians figure that out? Christians use the bible as a shield, and I would go so far as to say that maybe some of what is written in the bible is useful.
How does Deepak not provide any worth, Mrfl? Your cynicism is revolting. He's an M.D., a surgeon, and a leading proponent of life after death. Just as CNN often ellicits activist atheist/materialists for their opinion (Shermer), so should they receive input from Deepak.
ht tp:/ /w w w.you tube.com /watch?v=XPqferL9no8 remove the spaces and learn that if you see something that you think is stupid be aware that you created it,i honestly don't even know why i feel the need to comment,my perception is my creation and this is all just a dream.
The thing about this topic...sooner or later we will all find out for sure.everyone of us. I beileve there is more to life than just being alive...death is just the next step in our journey.
What's funny is, if your conscience does not "die " but your body does, You could be buried 6 ft under imagining the heavan we were brought up to believe exist.(meaning you conscience is in a personal heavan) All the while buried next to a athiest who is not using his imagination but instead in a pitch black box.
i think he left out a key part of the survey. He said 49% of people, but probably meant 49% of religious people. I would say that is average, and if the number is rising, it's only because of people becoming non-believers. Same goes for his first stat about reincarnation.
your awareness and consciousness are purely functions of your active brain cells. When you are asleep and not dreaming, or sedated you have NO awareness. So how can you have a nonphysical soul that cannot be aware of anything, without those same active braincells? you cant, you dont have a nonphysical soul.
Deepak is is basically a scientist trying to explain away thousands of years of belief in the soul and the afterlife. He seems to me to be stradeling the fence neither having belief or non belief in an afterlife which i am sure exists.
These fecking appologists of new age infuriate me sometimes. They say so much shit, don't back it up, and steal terminology from real science to seem like they aren't lying.
This is all very self centred. Does anyone think that cats and dogs have an afterlife ? If not , why not ? If you think we can , why not other animals ? If you think they can't what makes you think humans are so special ? Are we so deluded that we cannot even accept our own death ?
@cullyvan You raise a fair question. My answer, as unscientific as it is, would be that mankind possess a soul which allows us to grasp emotions that many other animals cannot i.e.guilt, knowledge of our mortality, etc.
Just as Chopra stated 2:26, part of our entity is outside of the temporal time and space paradigm. Death, and afterlife, is the shifting of the soul outside of time into a existence that we cannot understand.
@cullyvan do ur research fuktard death is sapration of mind from the body.when the body is no long able to sustain the life in it.due to damage cause by aging sickness or trauma or impact what ever u think it is. u think ur some kind of robot or what.i think animal do have this too.but u cant comferm animals when u dont even know urs. blood keeps the body active.mind powers it.sense is the connecttion betwen the both.if u cant feel ur body anymore ur dead. the next is u see ur self outside ur
@biafransnake Ive got absolutely no idea what you are trying to say. Any chance of writing it in english, or spanish or something that we actually use. Thanks.
@cullyvan that's interesting and the answer for me is i don't know or perhaps maybe physically they go through the same process so if its ever proven i would have to say yes and as far as being to deloted isn't the case its more of a question if there si life beyond death there is no question are we going to die because we all know we are
@cullyvan also just out of curiosity do you think there is anything after death and if so what do you think it is or is not i would also like to know what you think of nano technology and prospect of people living forever
@cullyvan I am not arguing with you I come in peace ok. I however want to challenge you to believe we are not just animals. I don't know about you but I have trained my dog to sit, play dead, beg , dance , give a hifive, roll over, shake both paws and catch a biskuit in mid air. She on the other hand has never trained me to do a single thing. I am the one that tells her to go and lay down on her mat. She on the other hand doesn't exspect me to obey her! Yes we are superior to animals!
@lucy9359 Yep, lucy - you are her slave. Seriously though, yes we are the most developed species to the point where we mass destroy each other and ruin our environment. If I was God, I'd probably chose a heaven full of dogs who love unconditionally . What happens when we get to our heaven ? Do we lose all our humanity ? Are there no arguments ? Wouldnt we be a bit bored ? By the way , she has trained you to feed her. Peace. I'm just suggesting we think about it a bit more past ourselves.
@lucy9359 We slaughter about 1 million animals a day , turning many of them into fatty foods and we live in a world where more people are obese than malnourished. This makes us superior .
We think we have an afterlife despite all the painfully obvious real world experience and signs around us.
This makes us superior.
We live on a planet that cant sustain us as things are and its only going to get worse. This makes us superior.
@cullyvan well I agree the world has become a very evil planet as much as I can figure out this is not because some people are meat eaters it is because some people are greedy! I believe that we are human created as a 3 part being body, soul and spirit. Animals are 2 part beings body and soul no spirit they operate purely on sensory perception...though I think they also have a certian level of reasonable function and capasity...only human beings have a spirit which has an eternal destination...
@cullyvan well truly those of us who believe the in the real God and the Jesus who died on the cross are willing to be locked up for our views or what ever the case is at least I hope and I know I am so there you have it,lol!
@lucy9359 He's not real Lucy, someone told you he was and you believed them. Devoid of all "education" and inculcation you would never have come to that conclusion. Anyway, good luck.
@cullyvan this is always the argument every athiest imposes that we are stupid who believe I have actually taught law at a post secondary level...that being said I have obviously been educated in at least a factual residue of reason...I have worshipped Him with other proffessors as well. There are doctors and scientists and teachers and many other proffesional educated people besides myself who believe in God...
@lucy9359 I'm agnostic as all right thinking human beings are. You were brought up in christianity. If you were brought up a muslim we would be having the same argument with you telling me its the truth. I'm not calling you stupid, i'm calling you narrow minded.
@cullyvan the assumption is we are narrow minded if we believe in God I realize that if we believe in morals we must be...same logic as the idea I am a dummy it is the same argument...I wasn't brought up in Christianity...and I believe in science and other things much like you do...I don't try and argue the bible into fitting into my thought life...for example you can believe the big bang theory and genesis account of creation they do not contradict each other...scientific minds believe in God.
@lucy9359 Lucy , i dont confuse morals and God. I have morals, we all do. personally the whole "be good and you get an afterlife" is ridiculous. Its Santa Claus, its the tooth fairy. Why should a creator care if we are good ? Why would he supply an afterlife ? Im sorry Lucy, believe what you believe, but its childish. Religion is childish. Its egocentric nonsense. We cant grow up as a race until we accept what we are.
@lucy9359 Actually Genesis and the Big Bang Theory directly conflict with each other..... One gives a specific account that everything was set the way it is all life, matter and energy within a 6 day time frame cause well the big guy took a nap on the 7th day. As where the big bang and the rest of the cosmological models require time greater than allowed in Genesis. The formation of a planet for instance takes longer than 6 days. There would be many stages in development. And then you need life.
@CtheWolfe technically the bible says He God came upon the face of the deep and divided the earth from the waters...it doesn't say that earth did not exist in some form or that man kind was God's first creation...Gen 1:2 now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the face of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters....this verse speaks of God making earth and this galaxy inhabitable for humanity it doesn't say that He popped earth hot off the press...
@lucy9359 Technically if you read the first line it says "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth." then it proceeds to give the description of how he formed everything else in the next 7 days. So yes when you omit the first verse it does not say he created the earth! But when you include it it says he did..... So he created it and then he came upon the face of this barren and void planet to finish creating things.... It is in complete conflict.
@CtheWolfe it is not a complete conflict if you read the bible for example in other creation accounts you can see that the author back tracks and he is telling the same story twice...they have repeated themselves and then brought in more details this is the case in many other bible stories as well and because I know what the rest of the bible says it is not a conflict the bible teaches we were not the first life form God created...it is in the pages!
@lucy9359 Oh you mean like the different parts of Genesis that conflict with the order everything was created in. Like bird beast man ---> man beasts birds... Like that sorta retelling of the account in different orders? So you have to pick and choose the one that best suits your needs? Trust me it states the order in different ways through out Genesis.... Very well written book ;)
@CtheWolfe not at all what I meant but I am not looking for an argument so i will leave it at this....every book in the bible is a conglamouration of another text in another book which pieces together like a puzzle which is one of the reasons scholars can't even agree upon text....if you want an example where this happens in a few short paragraphs it is in the story of after the flood when mankind was populating the earth...the text jumps all over as is the case across the entire bible...
@lucy9359 But still I do not think you can say just because it does not conflict in certain areas that there is no conflict. It clearly does conflict in certain areas however.
@CtheWolfe it does seem as though it conflicts and to the untrained eye it does...I believe it because of science however not inspite of it....there are to many things which are not explainable that coincide with the biblical acounts which I have studied over the years....many in this age of science are discarding religion as a result of what they have learned...many however are becoming more pursuaded for the same reason!
@cullyvan Animals have an afterlife as well as humans do. We are all spiritual beings walking around in a physical body. There is a huge amount of solid evidence for this. You just need forget about the religious doctrine of heaven or hell and investigate the spirit realms.
@Lekatt1 I cant remeber if i replied to you or not but - there is no evidence for what you say - "solid" or otherwise. People die, you have to get over it. You arent going to see them again. There is no rainbow castle in the sky which we all go to. The whole thing is incredibly childish and nothing more than a placebo. Sorry.
@cullyvan The verdict is by no means out on the topic of life beyond death. I am not so arrogant to believe i know if there is or is not awareness after physical life. However there are new scientific studies that definitely provide strong evidence that consciousness can exist " even with heightened lucidity" without a functioning brain. To read about such studies i would recommend the book Consciousness Beyond Life by Pim van Lommel.
@jboz52 I hear you, and I dont want to be too arrogant, because frankly I dont know either. I suppose if we are all completely honest we are all agnostic. The evidence from where Im sitting, logically and scientifically, doesnt add up. Its wishful thinking and thats about it.
Also off the topic science as now proven the existence of phenomenon such as telepathy, clairvoyance, remote viewing, pyschokinesis, and psychic healing (to read about such studies I recommend The End of Materialism by Tart). Materialist theories on consciousness fail to account for such phenomenon. Although this is not proof of the topic it does suggest that the mind and the brain are not the same thing. Your belief in the equation consciousness=brain is nothing more than faith.
@jboz52 let me correct you, science has NOT accepted TELEPATHY, CLAIRVOYANCE, REMOTE VIEWING. there is a million dollar reward by james randy org, if you can prove any of that shit, and NO ONE HAS SO FAR. I Want you to present some evidence to your BS, pls send me links.
@chinamanspeakenlis Obviously the dogmatically entrenched scientific community doesn’t accept their validity. Regardless the science is still there. Given the nature of such phenomenon I am not sure if it is possible to prove them beyond any doubt. However they’ve been demonstrated in scientific experiments such an abundant number of times that is now foolish not to believe in their authenticity.
@jboz52 dogmatically entrenched???dude, srsly?? i have yet to see a single phenomenon that has substantiated by evidence and not accepted by science, give me one example???dont just talk. there are rewards out thr, if you think you hav such pwers or can prove their existence, reward is yurs, yet NO ONE has ever proven anything. dude, TELEPATHY, CLAIRVOYANCE has NEVER EVER been proven, get yur facts right, cite us one example or link whr ANY scientist accept any of it as a fact..!!!
hey bro, using my cell phone i posted three comments directed your way (one of them is an accidental repeat of previous message). enjoy your week.
also i stated that mainstream science is dogmatically entrenched because they ignore any findings that go against their theory of reality and consciousness. there is extremely strong evidence for the paranormal yet the mainstream sci community wont give that outlook the time day or even consider its further study.
@jboz52 there is a million dollar reward for evidence of the paranormal by the JREF.. the fact that no one has claimed that reward is proof that it doesn't exist. if you make a claim which goes against a massive body of established evidence then obviously you will have to provide evidence which is just as convincing.
@cullyvan However you are dead on when talking about the depravity of the human animal and the superiority of all other animals. That definitely is a fact. All the devolopment of our left-brains has allowed us to do is think of even more colossal ways to destroy the planet and its many inhabitants.
@Lekatt1 There is absolutely no evidence of this once so ever. The only reason you can even imagine an afterlife is because of neurons firing off in your brain, once your brain goes, so does you and everything you were. There are no spirits, you are nothing more than superstitious and not realistic.
@Lekatt1 Hmmm...would you care to point me in the direction of one, single iota of said evidence? There has NEVER been any reliable evidence whatever for an afterlife, god, chi, chakras, auras, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc, etc. That's why the possibility of all of these things existing is still discussed. Chopra is the king of woowoo, bullshit pseudoscience.
@crabbit101 Really. Then why do you think 80% of all people believe in the afterlife, are they all wrong. I am sure you would say they were. However, since I been there, seen it, by having a near death experience I know they are dead right. Science is just another doctrine not unlike religion. Full of opinions and theories but no real truth. I wrote a book: "In the Presence of Unconditional Love." It explains everything and is a self-help book also. Great reading.
@Lekatt1 1.5 billion muslims believe Mohammed flew up to the heavens, 2 billion Christians believe in the resurrection of Jesus, 900 million Hindus believe in Devas and Avatars etc etc. Do you seriously think that because millions of people believe something that makes it true?
I don't doubt that you had an incredible experience, but despite that being convincing evidence for you there is no reason whatsoever why anyone else should believe you. Individual testimony and anecdotal evidence...
@Lekatt1 ....are notoriously unreliable and the fact that the brain can do bizarre things when under stress or (I assume this is your experience) when the heart stops and the body starts to shut down, is well understood by neuroscientists.
You clearly have no idea of the scientific method and why it is by far the best tool we have ever devised for discovering how the world works. It most definitely is NOTHING like religion. It is the complete opposite in fact and completely independent of it.
@crabbit101 Are you one of those who believe your brain created you and directs you. That you have no free will only what evolution wants you to do, and when it is over--nothing. I feel sorry for you.
@Lekatt1 My brain created me? Err...no. My parents created me and yes my brain directs me. It's called conscious thought. I've got news for you - your parents did the same and your brain directs you too. If your brain does not direct you then you have no free will! Are you trying to say that something other than your brain directs you but you still have free will? Hmmm...bit of a contradiction, don't you think?
@crabbit101 I have always had free will. Freedom to change my beliefs and thoughts. My brain has never controlled me. When I had a near death experience I saw my body lying on the bed below me, and I never felt better in my life. Millions of others have saw that same thing. These experiences has been verified by the doctors present when the patient accurately told them what they said and done during the time the patient was clinically dead. No brain waves, no heart beat.
@Lekatt1 You thoughts can only change you. You can choose what you want but you can't choose what you choose. Unless you were a robot that could reprogram yourself, then you'd be free-ish. Also, belief isn't a choice, it's a compulsion acheived from evidence, arguments, and trust. I don't choose what I believe because it's more appealing; I'm compelled to believe what I think is true whether I like it or not. I had no choice but to have the will to say this. Where's the freedom in that?
@Lekatt1 Don't feel sorry for me. This is the only life we know for sure we have and not believing that there is something after it is the best way to enjoy and make the most of it.
We knew nothing during the 13.72 billion years before we were born and will know nothing after it so I'm not going to waste this life wish thinking.
@Lekatt1 Truth is not a majority vote. Science is not a doctrine, it's the best we can do based on what we can know and it's our best defense against believing what we want. There's nothing you have to believe on faith in order to reject claims without evidence. Desirability is not a requisite of truth. And if your book "explains evertything" then it really explains nothing. Science actually explains. You offer false certainties. You know that I know that you know that you don't know.
@cullyvan There is no reason to believe that animals don't have an afterlife, and that animals forms are being used by consciousness for spiritual evolution in much the same way as human forms are.
@cullyvan If other animals in general has a soul, then of course they survive death as well. If they don't have one, then the question becomes meaningless. Does that answer your question?

there is what you call/consider "life" after your physical bodies death. basically your consciousness is an area in science which cannot be touched because its not physical, with our brain, wether we're clever/stupid we have limits. these limits in our brains are our 5 senses and emotions, its impossible to imagine to have more then 5 senses and different emotions because weve grown up as humans with them, but once you die the consciousness has no limit, then.. reincarnation or summit haps.

Oxygen deprived brains react similarly. During death, bright lights and tunnel vision are a common effect of oxygen deprivation. Fighter pilots experience this during centrifuge tests. Astronauts often experience this while leaving the atmosphere at Mach 25. That's right, 25 times the speed of sound.
drche420 2 months ago
@drche420 Oxygen deprivation creates an overall confused state of being. In NDEs, however, you find the exact opposite. In fact, ~75% of NDErs say that the NDE state is MORE lucid and real than everyday life. I urge you to compare that with Jet Fighter Pilots or ordinary people's experiences while fainting.
Additionally, NDErs do not have "tunnel vision" - they see an actual tunnel. Those are two entirely different experiences.
forestloves 1 month ago
@forestloves
Hearsay testimony is not evidence of "MORE lucid visions". If you can't see your fallacy, it is beyond anyone's ability to show you.
drche420 1 month ago
@drche420 Straw-man much? It's not "hearsay" when it's someone's direct testimony, rigorously analyzed and questioned first-hand. There are thousands of well-documented cases like this. In fact, even those skeptical of NDEs in general will agree with this fact if they're aware of the data. Interview people yourself who've just had a cardiac arrest and been reviewed. I guarantee you that at least 5% will have had a more lucid experience during this time than they've ever had before.
forestloves 1 month ago
@forestloves
Apparently you don't understand what hearsay means. You're taking someone's word that their experiences are "more" lucid. Your words are merely hearsay. I only analyze data, not testimony.
drche420 1 month ago
@drche420 No, it's you who can't tell the difference between testimony and hearsay. Hearsay is more like a rumor, and not a first-hand report. Testimony is someone's honest attempt at describing what they experienced. I'm not taking "someone's" word that their experiences are more lucid; I'm taking millions of people's word on it. Go to NDERF (dot org), and read the data for yourself if you doubt me. ~75% of NDErs explicitly state that the NDE is more lucid than real life. FACT.
forestloves 1 month ago
@forestloves
This is hilarious and sad simultaneously. How can you not realize that believing someone's testimony is naive at best? These tables and the data you talk about is gathered by asking people. You are basically just taking their word for it.
drche420 1 month ago

--its not unlike " we cant see the trees for the forest" --- they are bound by logic --spritual things dont have a lot of logic to them --
49128 3 months ago
the argument that the spirit controls the brain is unscientific.. it is a known fact that in many cases where people have suffered brain damage their entire personalities change... if the brain wasn't the producer of mans personality then damage in one area wouldn't affect another area.
priyochatterjee1 3 months ago
@priyochatterjee1 OK So you believe that you were created by your brain and controled by your brain. If there is no spirit then this must be true. I think your brain is much too powerful to be rational or even logical.
Lekatt1 3 months ago
@Lekatt1 no.. me and my brain were created by cell division and cell specialization during nine months in the womb.. like everyone else and yes i believe(because the evidence suggests so) that my consciousness and my actions are a function of my brain... and if you mean too powerful to accept YOUR standards of logic and rationality then yes i think it is.. if you read some scientific books then you will also be able to comprehend what im saying .
priyochatterjee1 3 months ago
@priyochatterjee1 OK I get it. Then if your consciousness and actions are a function of your brain, then you were created by your brain and controlled by your brain. Sorry about that.
Lekatt1 3 months ago

Even tho the physical body is injured, that injury does not transfer over to the spirit body.
k0smon 2 months ago
@k0smon that's factually incorrect, brain injury DOES indeed affect personality, intelligence, temper, reasoning and abstract thinking etc.. basically all the things one would associate with the "spirit" of a person.. the brain can produce images when we aren't seeing anything (ie in our dreams) and even if there is no correctly proven reason yet from science for the story how do you know that the spirit explanation is anymore credible than any other unproven explanation out there?
priyochatterjee1 2 months ago
@priyochatterjee1 actually, it depends on the part of the brain and type of injury that prevents you from having the ability to do something.

Here's one problem with reincarnation: what happens if every living thing dies? Like 5 billion years from now when the sun expands into a red giant? How could you be reincarnated?
ApertureScience27 3 months ago

Mursilia 2 months ago
@Mursilia Nothing can be 100% certain, not even that you or I exist, nor anyone except himself, since he might be dreaming the whole thing. When I say something with certainty, I mean its probability is extremely high: so high that I'm not bothered by doubt. I'm certain that leprechauns don't exist, but I can't be 100%. If you like, then, I will grant you that in an absolute sense it's not certain, or rather, that it is no more certain than the fact that you're reading these words.
64bitWar 2 months ago
@64bitWar
Well said.
drche420 2 months ago
@Mursilia
Nothing can be known for absolute certain, but when someone says they are certain they mean the probability is extremely high. However, when it comes to some things, our collective certainty nearly approaches absolute. For example, Earth is a sphere. This fact will not change unless a planetary catastrophe happens.
drche420 2 months ago
@64bitWar Everything in time is still happening. So it will all still exist.
14sJakeB190 2 months ago
@14sJakeB190 Yes, I suppose that is correct. Time is a continuum. As am I. As Sheldon Cooper has said, I've been what I am at each point in the implied time period. But that's a retarded argument for my particular form going beyond the point in time that it ceases. What an interesting way to speak of death though. :D

Jesus said that everyone is a god. your awareness and consciousness are purely functions of your active brain cells. When you are asleep and not dreaming, or sedated you have NO awareness.

@lucy9359 We slaughter about 1 million animals a day , turning many of them into fatty foods and we live in a world where more people are obese than malnourished. This makes us superior .

This makes us superior.
We live on a planet that cant sustain us as things are and its only going to get worse. This makes us superior.
Its just madness.

@cullyvan well I agree the world has become a very evil planet as much as I can figure out this is not because some people are meat eaters it is because some people are greedy! @cullyvan the assumption is we are narrow minded if we believe in God I realize that if we believe in morals we must be...same logic as the idea I am a dummy it is the same argument...I wasn't brought up in Christianity...and I believe in science and other things much like you do...I don't try and argue the bible into fitting into my thought life...for example you can believe the big bang theory and genesis account of creation they do not contradict each other...scientific minds believe in God.
lucy9359 10 months ago
@lucy9359 Lucy , i dont confuse morals and God. I have morals, we all do. personally the whole "be good and you get an afterlife" is ridiculous. Its Santa Claus, its the tooth fairy. Why should a creator care if we are good ? Why would he supply an afterlife ? Im sorry Lucy, believe what you believe, but its childish. Religion is childish. Its egocentric nonsense. We cant grow up as a race until we accept what we are.
cullyvan 10 months ago
@lucy9359 Actually Genesis and the Big Bang Theory directly conflict with each other..... One gives a specific account that everything was set the way it is all life, matter and energy within a 6 day time frame cause well the big guy took a nap on the 7th day. As where the big bang and the rest of the cosmological models require time greater than allowed in Genesis. The formation of a planet for instance takes longer than 6 days. There would be many stages in development. And then you need life.
CtheWolfe 9 months ago
@CtheWolfe technically the bible says He God came upon the face of the deep and divided the earth from the waters...it doesn't say that earth did not exist in some form or that man kind was God's first creation...Gen 1:2 now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the face of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters....this verse speaks of God making earth and this galaxy inhabitable for humanity it doesn't say that He popped earth hot off the press...
lucy9359 9 months ago
@lucy9359 Technically if you read the first line it says "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth." then it proceeds to give the description of how he formed everything else in the next 7 days. So yes when you omit the first verse it does not say he created the earth! But when you include it it says he did..... So he created it and then he came upon the face of this barren and void planet to finish creating things.... It is in complete conflict.
CtheWolfe 9 months ago
@CtheWolfe it is not a complete conflict if you read the bible for example in other creation accounts you can see that the author back tracks and he is telling the same story twice...they have repeated themselves and then brought in more details this is the case in many other bible stories as well and because I know what the rest of the bible says it is not a conflict the bible teaches we were not the first life form God created...it is in the pages!
lucy9359 9 months ago
@lucy9359 Oh you mean like the different parts of Genesis that conflict with the order everything was created in. Like bird beast man ---> man beasts birds... Like that sorta retelling of the account in different orders? So you have to pick and choose the one that best suits your needs? Trust me it states the order in different ways through out Genesis.... Very well written book ;)
CtheWolfe 9 months ago
@CtheWolfe not at all what I meant but I am not looking for an argument so i will leave it at this....every book in the bible is a conglamouration of another text in another book which pieces together like a puzzle which is one of the reasons scholars can't even agree upon text....if you want an example where this happens in a few short paragraphs it is in the story of after the flood when mankind was populating the earth...the text jumps all over as is the case across the entire bible...
lucy9359 9 months ago
@lucy9359 But still I do not think you can say just because it does not conflict in certain areas that there is no conflict. It clearly does conflict in certain areas however.
CtheWolfe 9 months ago
@CtheWolfe it does seem as though it conflicts and to the untrained eye it does...I believe it because of science however not inspite of it....there are to many things which are not explainable that coincide with the biblical acounts which I have studied over the years....many in this age of science are discarding religion as a result of what they have learned...many however are becoming more pursuaded for the same reason!

@cullyvan
Well IMO humans and all other creatures share the same living souls.
megaman00 10 months ago
@cullyvan Animals have an afterlife as well as humans do. We are all spiritual beings walking around in a physical body. There is a huge amount of solid evidence for this. You just need forget about the religious doctrine of heaven or hell and investigate the spirit realms.

@Lekatt1 I'm sorry my friend, there is absolutely no scientific evidence for this whatsoever.
cullyvan 9 months ago

To read about such studies i would recommend the book Consciousness Beyond Life by Pim van Lommel.
jboz52 4 months ago
@jboz52 I hear you, and I dont want to be too arrogant, because frankly I dont know either. I suppose if we are all completely honest we are all agnostic. The evidence from where Im sitting, logically and scientifically, doesnt add up. Its wishful thinking and thats about it.
cullyvan 4 months ago
Also off the topic science as now proven the existence of phenomenon such as telepathy, clairvoyance, remote viewing, pyschokinesis, and psychic healing (to read about such studies I recommend The End of Materialism by Tart). Materialist theories on consciousness fail to account for such phenomenon. Although this is not proof of the topic it does suggest that the mind and the brain are not the same thing. Your belief in the equation consciousness=brain is nothing more than faith.
jboz52 4 months ago
@jboz52 let me correct you, science has NOT accepted TELEPATHY, CLAIRVOYANCE, REMOTE VIEWING. there is a million dollar reward by james randy org, if you can prove any of that shit, and NO ONE HAS SO FAR. I Want you to present some evidence to your BS, pls send me links.
chinamanspeakenlis 4 months ago
@chinamanspeakenlis Obviously the dogmatically entrenched scientific community doesn’t accept their validity. Regardless the science is still there. Given the nature of such phenomenon I am not sure if it is possible to prove them beyond any doubt. However they’ve been demonstrated in scientific experiments such an abundant number of times that is now foolish not to believe in their authenticity.
jboz52 4 months ago
@jboz52 dogmatically entrenched???dude, srsly?? i have yet to see a single phenomenon that has substantiated by evidence and not accepted by science, give me one example???dont just talk. there are rewards out thr, if you think you hav such pwers or can prove their existence, reward is yurs, yet NO ONE has ever proven anything. dude, TELEPATHY, CLAIRVOYANCE has NEVER EVER been proven, get yur facts right, cite us one example or link whr ANY scientist accept any of it as a fact..!!!
chinamanspeakenlis 4 months ago
@chinamanspeakenlis
hey bro, using my cell phone i posted three comments directed your way (one of them is an accidental repeat of previous message). enjoy your week.
also i stated that mainstream science is dogmatically entrenched because they ignore any findings that go against their theory of reality and consciousness. there is extremely strong evidence for the paranormal yet the mainstream sci community wont give that outlook the time day or even consider its further study.
jboz52 4 months ago
@jboz52 there is a million dollar reward for evidence of the paranormal by the JREF.. the fact that no one has claimed that reward is proof that it doesn't exist. if you make a claim which goes against a massive body of established evidence then obviously you will have to provide evidence which is just as convincing.
priyochatterjee1 3 months ago
@cullyvan However you are dead on when talking about the depravity of the human animal and the superiority of all other animals. That definitely is a fact. All the devolopment of our left-brains has allowed us to do is think of even more colossal ways to destroy the planet and its many inhabitants.
jboz52 4 months ago
@Lekatt1 theres no evidence at all. this is pure nonsense. you're an idiot and DC is a charlatan.
lhurien 3 months ago
@Lekatt1 There is absolutely no evidence of this once so ever. The only reason you can even imagine an afterlife is because of neurons firing off in your brain, once your brain goes, so does you and everything you were. There are no spirits, you are nothing more than superstitious and not realistic.
theBartone9119 3 months ago
@Lekatt1 Hmmm...would you care to point me in the direction of one, single iota of said evidence? There has NEVER been any reliable evidence whatever for an afterlife, god, chi, chakras, auras, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc, etc. That's why the possibility of all of these things existing is still discussed. Chopra is the king of woowoo, bullshit pseudoscience.
crabbit101 3 months ago
@crabbit101 Really. Then why do you think 80% of all people believe in the afterlife, are they all wrong. I am sure you would say they were. However, since I been there, seen it, by having a near death experience I know they are dead right. Science is just another doctrine not unlike religion. Full of opinions and theories but no real truth. I wrote a book: "In the Presence of Unconditional Love." It explains everything and is a self-help book also. Great reading.
Lekatt1 3 months ago
@Lekatt1 1.5 billion muslims believe Mohammed flew up to the heavens, 2 billion Christians believe in the resurrection of Jesus, 900 million Hindus believe in Devas and Avatars etc etc. Do you seriously think that because millions of people believe something that makes it true?
I don't doubt that you had an incredible experience, but despite that being convincing evidence for you there is no reason whatsoever why anyone else should believe you. Individual testimony and anecdotal evidence...
crabbit101 3 months ago
@Lekatt1 ....are notoriously unreliable and the fact that the brain can do bizarre things when under stress or (I assume this is your experience) when the heart stops and the body starts to shut down, is well understood by neuroscientists.
You clearly have no idea of the scientific method and why it is by far the best tool we have ever devised for discovering how the world works. It most definitely is NOTHING like religion. It is the complete opposite in fact and completely independent of it.
crabbit101 3 months ago
@crabbit101 Are you one of those who believe your brain created you and directs you. That you have no free will only what evolution wants you to do, and when it is over--nothing. I feel sorry for you.
Lekatt1 3 months ago
@Lekatt1 My brain created me? Err...no. My parents created me and yes my brain directs me. It's called conscious thought. I've got news for you - your parents did the same and your brain directs you too. If your brain does not direct you then you have no free will! Are you trying to say that something other than your brain directs you but you still have free will? Hmmm...bit of a contradiction, don't you think?
crabbit101 3 months ago
@crabbit101 I have always had free will. Freedom to change my beliefs and thoughts. My brain has never controlled me. When I had a near death experience I saw my body lying on the bed below me, and I never felt better in my life. Millions of others have saw that same thing. These experiences has been verified by the doctors present when the patient accurately told them what they said and done during the time the patient was clinically dead. No brain waves, no heart beat.
Lekatt1 3 months ago 2
@Lekatt1 You thoughts can only change you. You can choose what you want but you can't choose what you choose. Unless you were a robot that could reprogram yourself, then you'd be free-ish. Also, belief isn't a choice, it's a compulsion acheived from evidence, arguments, and trust. I don't choose what I believe because it's more appealing; I'm compelled to believe what I think is true whether I like it or not. I had no choice but to have the will to say this. Where's the freedom in that?
64bitWar 1 month ago
@Lekatt1 Don't feel sorry for me. This is the only life we know for sure we have and not believing that there is something after it is the best way to enjoy and make the most of it.
We knew nothing during the 13.72 billion years before we were born and will know nothing after it so I'm not going to waste this life wish thinking.
crabbit101 3 months ago
@Lekatt1 Truth is not a majority vote. Science is not a doctrine, it's the best we can do based on what we can know and it's our best defense against believing what we want. There's nothing you have to believe on faith in order to reject claims without evidence. Desirability is not a requisite of truth. And if your book "explains evertything" then it really explains nothing. Science actually explains. You offer false certainties. You know that I know that you know that you don't know.
64bitWar 1 month ago 2
@cullyvan There is no reason to believe that animals don't have an afterlife, and that animals forms are being used by consciousness for spiritual evolution in much the same way as human forms are.
endofscene 9 months ago
@cullyvan If other animals in general has a soul, then of course they survive death as well. If they don't have one, then the question becomes meaningless. Does that answer your question?
