Im a military cop and she was in the wrong, I'm not saying she deservered to be tazed but she got out of the vehicle and then refused to listen to the officer. Once she tried to get back in the vehicle she was already told to put her hands behind her back, but she got in the van instead and thats resisting arrest. The officer at that point is allowed to use that level of force. My point is if she would have been smart and stayed in the car in the first place she wouldn't have been tazed.

I take that personally since my father was a state trooper for several years. They teach you in the academy about proper use of the taser. She was not complying to his orders, and for all he knew, she could have been getting out of her car to stab him. He had to subdue her or else his life may have been in danger.

They're also set so that they can't cause any permanent damage, even to a pregnant person. Police have specific protocols when to use a taser, and that was one. She was getting out of control and not thinking right, and he had to subdue her. If police didn't have tasers, the only other option would be to shoot them, or beat the shit out of them.

When you are issued a ticket, you accept it, if you feel you are right, you go to court and fight it, not demand to see the video. That is not how it works, period. I take that personally since my father was a state trooper for several years. They teach you in the academy about proper use of the taser. She was not complying to his orders, and for all he knew, she could have been getting out of her car to stab him. He had to subdue her or else his life may have been in danger.

They're also set so that they can't cause any permanent damage, even to a pregnant person. Police have specific protocols when to use a taser, and that was one. That officer should have know (for whatever reason why she was pulled over) that the stop did not pose any danger to his life. The lady had her kids in the car. I probably would not have tazed her, but I wasn't there. I'll bet the next time an officer gives her simple instructions she listens more closely. @cavereric One time, (so I would know what it was like) it was more than enough for more. I tend not to believe you are not a cop though, given that you seem to think it was okay for him to taze her. Not following instructions is NOT reason to taze someone, especially a woman who poses absolutely no threat. I have posted the rules, and he clearly broke them. She wouldn't have been awarded $75K if that were not the case. I am completely disinterested in Rickert.

@Scootertuner1000 I never claimed to be a cop. I came out of the military and wouldn't take a job as a cop because of the pay. You are wrong. 75k is what they give to make it go away. If she had a good case it would have been at least $250,000.00 They have insurance to cover it. I could teach her how to easily knock him out. Next time she will follow instructions.
