@bronsoncrabtree That's expected. I briefly explain that in the video. That gave me an idea, though. You could use Audio Hijack Pro to route your mic input to the Soundflower 2ch, while also setting Soundflower 2ch as the input for Quicktime Player while doing a screen record. Guess what, it works. Not sure if that makes sense to you, but I may actually make a new video at some point showing how to do that.
@bronsoncrabtree It just so happens that I'm upgrading to Lion tonight. I recorded this on Snow Leopard initially. I haven't tried it on Lion yet. I'll give it a whirl and see what I find out.
@bronsoncrabtree So I just upgraded, installed Soundflower (I did not have it already installed before upgrading), and didn't seem to have any problems with the installation. I also tested to make sure it records the audio successfully. Not sure why yours isn't installing. Are you sure you're looking for it in the right place? When you go to System Preferences, click on "Sound," and then click on the "Output" button/tab to view outputs. Soundflower should show a 2 ch. and 17ch. option there
I tried this but when I went into system preferences the sound flower didn't show up? I looked for it after I installed it and It says it wasn't installed. I tried it again and it didn't work
Soundflower 1.3.1 requires Mac OS 10.2.8 or later.
Also, you may want to try using Soundflowerbed. It's included in the installation, but there seems to be a trick to using it. Search the Cycling '74 forums for "soundflowerbed."
I tried this by recording a screen capture of a project in an audio program called Studio One, but the audio still did not record, only the video. Ill keep messing with it, maybe I missed something.
@benthemiester Keep in mind that you have to select Soundflower as an output in the System Preferences Sound preference pane, and then also select it as an input in Quicktime Player before recording. This completes the loop. Sorry for the late response.
Ya that would be great!!!

I believe I have the right settings but it only picks up one like only the systems audio or just the external mic
