I have a show-somali as well. Sorrel Silver beauty. He's got a bushy tail that he gets a lot of credit for but yours is just... damn! That tail is amazing.

And to all of you thinking Somalis come from somalia it's not so. They are a long haired version af the abbysinian and that is the country that is now Ethiopia. When the long haired abyssinians were bred they gave them the name of a neighbouring country i.e Somali.

What I don't get is how can such a magnificent cat come from (in my opinion) on of the worst countries in the world?? I mean, today Somalia is mine-boggling awful. I don't know much about ancient times, back then it might have been beautiful and prosperous, but I mean that cat came to America in the 1950's... o_O

I love these animals so much... I lost 3 cats since November. Magnus, Bjorn and Yrsa. They were all Norwegian Forest cats. They all died of cancer.

He is. I was there and he was one of those cats that stood out. As I recall he was fairly easy to photograph too. They are quite active, Somali cats and well behaved (from a photographer's point of view!).
