  • I fucking love stevie Wonder!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song is awesome. who directed the intro? looks like something terry gilliam would've done for monty python though.

  • Man, I don't trust people who don't like Stevie Wonder.

  • since when did womens rights videos become welcome on youtube?

  • 3:51 how I would like to be this woman but kitchens and hot things make me panic

  • This song is SO f'n good on so many levels.

  • Rip the audio from this tune at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • Great video!

  • remember dating an Indiana girl in NYC, me a native NYer. She could never understand, why I dug Stevie, who she thought was not 'cool'.

Stevie has so much feeling, soul, call it what you want.

    She never got it.

  • I am making my Stevie Wonder playlist larger should I just surf through YT or should I be finding specific videos?

  • I believed it was a Moog bassline, nonetheless this track eats.

  • so sexy

  • No son Stevie was playing the Synclavier at the time.

  • @tmbcmn: The song came out in '74, and synclavier was invented in '77... He's playing the Moog. What a bassline! Damn!

  • @tmbcmn: The song came out in '74, and synclavier was invented in '77... He's playing the Moog. What a bassline!!

  • sizzzzlin

  • Stevie tore that synclavier up on this one!!!... Funky ass SHIT!!!...

  • @tmbcmn Synclavier, really? Thought it was a plain ol' Moog... [assuming it's the bass you're talkin' bout]

  • Great song, great video.

  • 1:12, love the model's pizzazz running down that run way!

  • this was known as 'the fartin' song' for how it started out. 11 folks don't know how to boogie, right, gang? Billboard's #25 song for '75 Stevie hit #1 soul, and,#3pop. God bless!

  • The man is a genius! I thank god that his mum came to him in a dream and told him to tour in 2008.....thank you mrs wonder!!!!

  • @supertelstar78 You REALLY didn't think that that's his real name, didya? His mama was named Lula Mae Hardaway. God bless!

  • I don't like how this is about women lol

  • @damoniegetta yeah not reggae women either! No I agree with you.

  • This WAS 1975...Boogie on baby!

  • #1 skate jam.

  • Okay so we call the boobs, boobs, how about boobies, and what do we call those beautiful jiggling buttices?

  • @AcidHeadEd I like to call them "breastesses"... :-)

  • Like most of it.

  • A tribute to women everywhere! Boogie on Reggae Woman!

  • Brilliant song by one of the most creative artists to come out of the 20th Century. This is a cool video placed to it, I get to see how the world was when I was just a year old. However, I dunno who that is from 1:37 to 1:40, but it looks like a man with a wig on.

  • 1:38 Shirley Chisholm, first woman to run for President for a major party!

  • I remember hearing this and saying "that's a stone groove, man." I stand by that assessment.

  • superb.

  • 3:12 - boobs

  • @viduayte uh..yes, that is correct. Those are "boobs". Very obvservant.

  • nobody can touch Stevie, nobody in my generation for sure, boogie on Stevie!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love it :) Thank you !

  • hell yeah! boogy-in' on with my sistas

  • 1:26 FAIL

  • love the song, but i agree with 'busfilmer', this is one crappy ass video!!!

  • The Marcus Miller version of this is amazing.

  • THIS IS FOR EVERY WOMAN EVER BORN

  • I have never heard this song before untill today?

Thanks for the share! Stevie is a Wonder indeed. (Always knew though ;)

  • I always thought the You Tube Fri films is still there and not this crappy clip. Such videos should be immediately gelscht. An original video is very hard to find, since there are just too many idiots are full as you and others

  • Nobody can touch Stevie - look at all the crapists out there now - man alive

  • jane fonda needs to be slapped up side the head.

  • @pinboyjorf She sure as hell does!! Many of the people who say she was a "Hero" have NO IDEA just how instrumental she was in getting some of our POWs killed and tortured. She went over to Nam and actually condemned our men in uniforn

calling them "Baby-killers: to their faces.. That bitch should've been jailed or shot!

  • Well it was the truth, many soldiers were shooting innocent people. Don't hate her for the honesty, hate the mother fucking 'soldiers' who were committing the atrocities. I bet you are another one of those good ole' boy war hawk neo cons. That war was disgusting and pointless.

  • I love how you got funny beggining to all these vids. Pretty cool.

  • was this the official video cuz its weird lol

  • At 3:21 that sure looks like Will Ferrell

  • @matambale Good catch. Maybe WF is a time traveler.

  • You made my day Stevie at the beginning of this video, with a picture of my all time icon.................Great Bob Marley!

  • I used to call this song the Fart song when I as little becuse of the little soundsthat sound like farts in the begginning

  • I actually just realized I knew where a sample in a Jamiroquai instrumental came from...

  • i like when phish does it better but gotta love the original

  • @Rome012 AGREED

  • @MusicalPhish Most definitely, the original is like to disco vibe for me

  • << singing....wish i could upload, lol

    ( 'kin love this)

  • mmm, i am a white man, but LOVE this sound, wahooooooooo!

  • Fun and thanks for the historical images.

  • You go girl... boobie on beggin strips wimmin of da world UNITE & FIGHT 4 da CURATE and CARROTS...

  • like the video

  • These time capsule videos are so trippy. The whole making light of Ford almost getting shot is kinda crazy.

  • <3 boogie on reagge woman

  • Nice piano touch.

  • I don't care which version you think is better, please keep derogatory terms out of your comment. I hate it when people use words in a way besides that which they were intended for.

And, Stevie Wonder is a classic, a lot of people happen to think this version is much better, including me. Each version has something special about it, that makes it good in it's own way though. You like the other version, more power to you.

  • its just ignorance dear, dont sweat it....

  • Never really listened to this song! What a good song! Love it!

  • the best bassline in the history of keyboard basslines....can somebody name one that can touch that bassline please?

  • Victor Wooten

  • True...

    But he said keybaord basslines

  • Gordon and Wooten both rip this bassline to shreds.

  • parliament -- colour me funky

  • ok thats funky and we all got our opinions...but that bassline is not ready for the boogie on reggae woman bassline and the song period isnt the same quality..but to each his own...thanks for the intro to a song i never heard before.

  • what about "burn rubber" by the gap band?

  • Super FUNKY

  • FUNK POWER!!!!

  • absolute killer song.

reminds me of the OLD DAYS. I WENT to buy pot, & the guy yelled out the window

    'YOU WANNA BUY POT'?

I was like, uuuhhh yea. and I did.

  • lmfao

  • This song just COOKS... and Stevie's harp playing is outa sight! It is simply not possible to sit still while listening to it. Sheer musical genius.

  • Can I play?? Yes Stevie no doubt about it !

  • Love this time capsule! Love this song but then it's Stevie! Love everything he ever did! xxx

  • damn these old stevie videos are so weird :D

  • second that!!! ha ha although i guess he doesn't get to see them...soooo...?

  • thanks for posting these motown time capsule videos~~they're awesome!

  • 1:28 - you go girl!

  • lol

  • Stevie had such a massive influence on everything cultural during his heyday that he is still seen today as a pioneer in the music world. Could you imagine him sitting at a piano and writing that bass line for this song! What a incredible mind!

  • @chrishickie yeah! How people can revere relative joker composers these days when they don't know Stevie and similarly-talented people, I don't know...

  • This is such a f&^king tune!

My fav Stevie tune of all time

  • ok 3:30 clip from underal no panty lines commerical hahaha

    great song.

  • How do you make a cracker move like James Brown?

    Play this.

  • so true......

  • 'Been looking for this song! I've been a fan of Mr. Wonder's for a long time but I heard this song on the radio for the first time a few days ago. Thanks!

  • The rythm, the music, the voice of the singer;all together has this song listenable for EVER!!! "I like to reggae. But you dance to fast for me." Imagine how this dancer must look dancing.

  • Man this takes me back., to a very good place. This was my uncle's favorite song, he has since passed, and hearing it makes me think of him and smile.

  • the animation reminds me of Terry Gilliam

  • I like to do it to you till you holla for more

  • Only a person who did not live in the 70s would say it was ugly times, I was in high school then it was the best, communities were closer, people were friendlier, even though there were wars and high unemployement people generally still had good attitudes towards others and life. It was good times, music was great, people antipatated the release of albums like stevie wonder, songs in the key of life when platium before it was released!! music was at its height!!! you had to be there!!!

  • thanks for posting the video. this is my jam. this radio station used to play it promptly at 6am every morning. I was a college student and first class was at 8am. I would blast this through the apartment complex and have the whole place jumping! Good..good memories. will use it when as my 1st dance at when i get married. lol

  • who's the little rebel at 1:27?

  • that looks like jane fonda doesn't it?

  • It is

  • In my view, Stevie is the greatest EVER singer. Certainly best Soul/RnB, just a genius. This track is one of my faves along with Higher Ground, I Wish and so many others. FFF and Innervisions are deffo his 2 best albums although Talking Book, Music of My Mind and SITKOL are all excellent. Don't listen to anything after that, OK but not up this high water mark. Still sounds boss, 35 years later!!!

  • I wouldn't disagree with you there....

  • I Went to a school where everyone liked this guys music !! it was crazy everyone was into their old skool stuff

  • :051, I think that is Toukie Smith.

  • Ugly times the 70's

  • But...good times...at least the music part :D

  • Indeed. The music is the best.

  • Very well put together

  • i was fooked to this yesterday, best time of my life

  • damn right some1 should make a statue of him... hes one of the greatest. i am such an outcast at my school when it comes to music cuz i like his music and not lil wayne haha. i wish other kids my age would help me keep this stuff alive

  • @13AMTheBand amen. i'm sixteen and i think this is great

  • one of the best.

  • me gusta mucho!!!

  • I dig that harmonica man !

  • totally it may be Stevie

  • The beginning of this song sounds like my botty after curry

  • lol

  • hahahahahhahahah totes funky botty

  • One of the best bass grooves ever! Played with the left hand while the right hand is playing piano, as he is also singing and playing harmonica.

By the way, that clip of the old "Underalls" commercial was like porno to me at seven years old!

  • O, this song bring back memories. It seems like this song used to play every morning when I was a kid. My mom had such a hard time getting me ready for school, because I did not like school, and I would cry every morning because, I did not want to go to school. I wanted to stay home and watch tv all day.

  • your story touches me, man, cause I was the same way.

  • stevie wonder is a modern genius, a person to be proud of, someone should make a damn statue of him

  • Every time I hear this awesome funk tune I gotta reply "YES DAMMIT STEVIE YOU CAN PLAY!"

  • I've done it on "C" chromatic...?

  • lol

  • what key and model harmonica is the Man playing on this tune?

  • HA. THAT's FONK! jebus, what effect pedals are on bass. sounds like auto wah, what else is that? synthasizer? ANYONE?

  • stevie plays the bass line on moog synthesizer (or arp synthesizer)

  • Hey funkmetwice! This is straight played out of his analog synthesizer. Just a dry bassline without any effect but of course phat and juicy. I think it's a Moog Synthesizer. But Stevie also played ARP Synths for a long time. (The ARP 2600, Odyssey etc) Great funky tune!

  • awesome vid.awesome song.AWESOME EVERYTHING!!

  • Nasty! love it... has anyone written a song like this in the last 5 years?

  • no :)

  • lots of people have, you'll just never hear it because the record companies do their best to only market complete garbage like amy winehouse

  • Has anybody ever laid a thicker groove on a synth bass than this??

  • If you like Boogie On, Phish does a pretty cool version. Enjoy all, peace. MT

  • Yep, that's how I got here ;-)

  • - Funk bass line - so good it cant be real.

  • There will NEVER be a decade like the 70's!!

Simply amazing what it was like then.

    The music-the movies-THE MEMORIES

  • Iam 34 years old. Born back in 1974. I heard the 70's were an original great time!

  • This is the definition of funk.

  • absolutely. . that bass is too funky for words

  • mmmm delicious

  • Hi Sasha, I Love You !! I Love ya white shoes man.

  • Absolutely funkadelic!

  • This song tripped me OUT when I 1st heard it!! Saw him perform live in Memphis and he did SO well!! Very entertaining and he got the WHOLE audience involved!!Just the best perfomance -BAR NONE!!

  • its imposible to stay still with this song. i´ve tried....no way . 5 stars

  • Funkiest keyboard bass line ever

  • reminds me of how much I love women!!

  • just checked out MJ's Leave Me Alone, don't see the similarity, this is way cooler too

  • my favourtie Stevie song, Wonder what his real last name is, fun video too

  • Morris, is the dude's last name apparently. Steveland Morris. Don't quite have the same ring to it do it?

  • I would really love to know what the scene from 1:27 is all about. if anyone knows please respond. i love her power sense

  • I'm pretty sure it was Jane Fonda. The right-wing $#itheads on this country have painted her as a traitor, or that she somehow aided the North-Vietnamese enemy, but she was simply outspoken against the rampant militarism in this country. (Which has sadly resurfaced.)

She was involved with the FTA Tour (FTA = Fun Travel Adventure & F%&k The Army)

I'm one Veteran who's entirely 'Fonda' Jane, BTW.

  • Actually, when that clip was taken, she was in police custody, he had every right to shoot her

  • why?

  • She was involved in so many peaceful protests in the US - do you think that every cop has the right to shoot a protester? We have freedom of assembly in this country, correct?

  • For what? You are just another dickless male advocating violence towards a woman.

  • Half of those neo con shitheads didn't have the balls to enlist anyway. Dickless, chicken hawks....

  • did this inspire michael jackson's "leave me alone"?

  • Wow, looks it!

  • Can he play?

  • Yes......he can!!!!

  • WOW!! AMAZING VIDEO DUDE..love this song..great job..i love it..and yes a great musician/songwriter too!

  • Great frickin' video buddy, WOMEN LIB

  • amazing video! On many levels!
