It's been like 5 years since I left MD for college. I recently finally got around to watching WJZ 13 again and Denise Koch is still there. She's been there since I was a kid!!!
it was a stupid question. people in the television business know about other stations in other markets...it's not that difficult to understand. To my knowledge, the sports guy did not work in New York, but I could be wrong.
not their fault... and they did the best they could. WJZ is very professional. I grew up with this station and now that I am overseas I still check up on Baltimore and use WJZ as my source. No mickey mouse about it.
This happened around Sept 24-25 1999, I lived on keystone ave on TV hill at the time. We we accustomed to evacuations in that time I lived there, from the clipper Mill fire to Giant Ice cycles falling from the tower though peoples roofs.
Fox 5 in WCBS... hilarious, though eventually, they did have to deal with the twin towers, which pretty much carried all the TV stations in New York, however, no destroyed studios.
I was home listening to the old alan preal show on wbal radio when this happen. props to channel 45 for letting them use there station for a home base.

WFLA in Tampa had a similar situation where power was cut off to their old studios in 1999. The competition pitched in to help them put on newscasts.
